Hello and welcome to all the new people

So far today I have trawled the tinternet- bad woman - DW x 1, WM x 2 and hung on line 3rd lot in now, washed up bits by hand, been shopping, Hoovered hall, kitchen, LR, washed floors in hall and kitchen, watered plants

Now waiting for kiddies and DH to get home, DD will be off swimming later and DH is taking DS for a game of Golf

Are there bravery awards for cleaning/clearing/decluttering? Perhaps Kim and Aggie would know.... I actually went into THE WORKSHOP (say this in a hoarse whisper) and started sorting out! I already have half a bag of rubbish and that's in 20 minutes

Problem is I inherited all my late fathers DIY bits (you know tins of screws/bolts/bits and bobs) that Might Come In Useful (that hated phrase again). DD is an engineer and is also of the MCIU turn of mind, so unless I am ruthless every nut, bolt screw, piece of wood and tool is kept. I can now get inside the door without the Safety Elf coming at me, so it's working.

2 lots of laundry done, bit more filing and ordered batteries for new smoke alarms (they ain't much good in their boxes).

Hart, I know what you mean about the mouse movement - I have at last like you space to use it correctly!:)

....It's a gas stove and the pan supports are oblong, meaning there are 2, each covering 2 burners, which means the ruddy things don't fit in the sink. They needed a good soak....Tell ya, if I ever buy another stove, pan supports which are small enough to fit into a washing up bowl are a MUST Good tip a la Kim & Aggie; put old towel/ sheet et al in bottom of bath, use plenty of BIO washing powder & fill bath enough to cover pan rests, oven shelves, grill pan, dish drainer..laying on said towel. Leave to soak. The bio in the bath is supposed to be good for cleaning the bath too, but I try to put other stuff in--like those awful sports socks & tea towels but NOT with the bits of cooker--or it seems a waste of water :o
....I just realised that most of the things indoors arrived one bagful at a time and can escape the same way. How very true! Must have subconsciously known that when I donated half dozen unopened books to the c.s. yesterday :D
....I want a clone to do my chores so I can goof off and live the rest of my life. Me too!

;) In order to force myself to do an alteration on garment which I've been postponing for about 3 years (whilst wearing said garment every week :o) I have started it and it's now unwearable until I finish and I need it so will have to do it in the next few days. Using my own psychgology against me At last! My kindred spirit; I KNEW I couldn't be the only one :j....
Don't suppose you lot here fancy telling my mother all this would you? Her & my sister [a LOT older than me :p] are forever tutting & turning their noses up at my (lack of) housekeeping & will not understand why I have no desire to live in a show home. My biggest hurdle is being born minus the tidy gene..sis'true!..medically proven..life-long affliction, though I don't talk about it, & fully paid up member of the CBA Support Group..*stands & twists hands nervously* Hi. I'm BMF & I'm allergic to housework!
There, I've come out--or rather fallen out--of the Clutter Closet & I'm PROUD :rotfl:
....I have the same kind of [STRIKE]husband and[/STRIKE] :) kids as most of you if we have a clear flat space they must dump something on it well i told em it's going to stop Do you offer training videos of how to tell them to do this, bit like the Tidy Whisperer? Imagine the money we could make on that --I'd get royalties cus it's my idea, then I could hire a cleaner or three :T *goes off in search of a Dragon* co-ee.. Mr Prosteethsis?....
The Offspring have--unfortunately--inherited their father's definition of "tidy up" All of 'em think it just entails moving muss from one location to another, as opposed to putting it away  so we're no better off after a splurge! Classic example is the loft above Pup's bedroom (aka the dog cage in the corner of the lounge ;)); everything is thrown there to get it off the floor 'while I [as in the one in a mood & actually doing some housew**k (can't even say it :()] hoover' & never comes down again  I cleared everything down to the bars about a fortnight ago & stuff the kids need to sort out, is still sitting in a huge carrier bag but now under the nest of tables speechless-smiley-004.gif
I'll just say here for those of you who don't know us, The Offspring are supposed to be fully functioning adults so four grown-ups, a Pup & an Iggie live in our home.
OK..we all have things that need to be at hand, in the hopes we remember to do something about it..I get that. Grandad used to look after our important paperwork--it's a photo of Dad that sits on the unit--but the computer desk now has that dubious honour. You try explaining to my lot that when everybody uses the same place to keep something safe, it soon becomes overloaded with 'important stuff' & then no-one can find their 'important stuff' that belongs to them, because it's buried under everyone else's 'important stuff' :wall:

Thing is..now I've found another thread that appeals to my little idiosyncrasies [if you'll have me that is :o]..when on earth am I going to get off the flippin' poota & DO something IRL speechless-smiley-014.gif

I wish I could give you some advice on the ebay stuff Rigsby but my bedroom is loaded with stuff I need to get on ebay and stuff that I have listed waiting to sell :o
I sold a pair of shoes today and when I went to get them I panicked, I couldn't find them :o I knew they were in a box but were? I had visions of emailing the buyer and telling them I live in a dumping ground and they were lost :rotfl: but silly me I had picked the box up 3 times before realising they were what I was looking for :o
I have all my ebay stuff in storage boxes and bags to keep them clean and tidy but there is a lot to go through :rotfl: Must use this time off work to list it all :o

It's good to come here and have a moan snookey we all need to let off steam sometimes and we all know what it's like to get stuck in a rut here :o hope things go ok for you and things improve :D

Big Mumma I had to be brave to tackle the oh and 2 19 year old mini hims . I had them help me gut the kitchen and paint it . Then told em dump anything and i get to decide it's fate . So for 4 days in a row everything belonging to them i found dumped in the kitchen i piled outside the back door . After having to rescue coats , tools , x box games etc and panicing cos they thought i'd done the same with the laptop ( hid that under the couch) , they got the message and they shift it . Mind find it all on their bedroom floor god knows but when i get that far i'll be putting a stop to that too. You wanna hear them muttering it's so funny but the hand goes out to dump it then just before it hits the worktop they realise and trot upstairs . They don't dump stuff on the table anymore i shoved it in the garage . pmsl

ebay stuff i try and force myself to list at least 2 items every night and some nights i get carried away and do 10 or more lol.but at least if they sell i get rid of 2 a day.
