Hi Emms. I hope it all turns out as you hope. Blood test results may be through tomorrow, but more likely on Monday, so I'll wait until then. Lovely lady said that the GP will call me if anything seems urgent. I'm having no problems with actual tiredness, though, nor any other obvious diabetes symptoms, and I'm starting to wonder if, along with the computer, it's the sinus problems that I've been having on and off for weeks.

What a great YS find! :T Not that I like pork, although I used to like (many years ago) the smell of it cooking.

Well, de-messying today turned out to be OH and I digging over the wide border where a hedge used to be. Being clay, it was pretty solid, and OH had already rough dug most of it. Today, he finished the rough digging, while I started a second digging over, removing roots, stems, and a remarkable amount of rubbish, like bits of tile, small lumps of concrete and the sort of edging that comes from worktops. I think I could ache a bit tomorrow.

Emms you keep popping into my thoughts. Hope all goes wellxxxxxxx

this post will mostly be me thinking aloud. I have this weekend before Mum comes home.

    I need to

    1. Move the bloody fish tank. but I should start from the begining.

move the boxes out of the conservatory and spare room into the living room.

Sorry - one dog is licking the other dogs face and they both look like they are in heaven. :rotfl:

Move furniture round in conservatory and my room. empty fish tank and slide it downstairs into conservatory. set up in conservatory (not ideal but fish going to pond soon)

empty the shed - which could be interesting as I can't find the sodding key. build a guinea pig run. Pull cupboard out of shed (and pack up pet/e bay stuff ) and some how get upstairs. Empty blanket box thing and shift upstairs. Although. I could paint the little one from the bathroom, that would fit better sizewise. and could paint in my room. Plus put a recovered Chair in the bathroom to sit on.

Although both need painting........The blanket box for sure. could MAYBE paint that(cream) in the conservatory once it is straight and keep it there. And my wardrobe. And perhaps my bedside table things(white). Take up the rug in the conservatory. clean floor? smaller rug put down.

So whilst they are drying in my room and the conservatory....dogs in kitchen pigs in run in hall? gerbils on dinning table. Start to go through boxes of paper work? move shoe cupboard into shed?

Set up tv and tidy up card making stuff. dust, hoover change sheets.

Hopefully furniture dries out and is put in place. hoover and return animals to room. hoover again.

    Little jobs (ish)
    toiletries need chucking,
gift cupboard should be sorted (that should free up 3 boxes)
animal supplies need a home under the bed and in the shed
need litter trays and cd holder (painted?)
    house plants
    find comforters for bed.

    Big jobs
    School work. organised.
    Bank stuff organised.
Shed - with ebay stuff, cages, shoe cupboard, maybe hutch too. spare pets stuff.

Some are long term and I can imagine although the furniture will get shifted and painted the sorting will be started.

I will go to the tip as well.

    Ideal Shoppping list.

    1. nice blanket to cover blanket box in conservatory.
    2. cushions
    3. Litter trays
    4. plastic wallets
    5. cream and white paint and sand paper.

I think a trip to the Factory shop is in need!

after most of that is done tho:)

sorry I haven't read much, just needed to get my thoughts out.

    xxxxxx

    Hi all

Just popping in to say hello. Hope all is OK with everyone, hugs to Emms and fingers crossed for those test results. Very very tired, one of those days at work and my brain is a fog. Off to get the pjs on, light the fire and curl up with the dog and watch telly (hubby and kids are out at the minute).

Buffy thats quite a list, sometimes its good to write it all down. OK I am not going to make much sense so I am off.

Hugs to all, and Emm / Bearcub X fingers for the news you want.
Not a lot of demessying again today, went shopping to my Magic Greengrocer and lots of super veggy bargains. Big bag of onions for 50p - I could have had 10lbs for £1.50 - parsnips 50p, ditto 6 apples and 6 oranges. Also a tub of buttery spread. Spuds, Savoy cheese and cheddar with caramelised onion £1, big bunch of grapes 70p. I just love this shop.
Hoping for another sunny day to lift the demessying mood tomorrow and regain mojo.

    Hi Messies.
Bearcub, well done on the digging. It`s funny what you find - when DD`s Chap was doing our decking a couple of years ago he had to dig a bit, undisturbed weedy `lawn-ish` patch - found an old doormat, a dented dog-bowl, and loads of bits of Lego (possibly flung out of back bedroom window, either when DS was `tidying his room` or when I did the oft-threatened thing... I do recall chucking a load of DD`s dirty undies out of the window too, and her scuttling round in a blush to gather them before anyone else saw them, but we didn`t find any of those so she must have done a thorough job retrieving them all! I hope your dinner out went well.

Buffy - your post made me smile and the same smile stuck and kept returning since I read - I have this lovely mental picture of your dogs` enraptured faces. The last few years (since we lost old Benny-dog) is the first period in my life when we`ve been a one-dog household, and although I miss moments like the one you describe, I do know that my old Daftie-dog would not be happy sharing us with another canine. Still, thanks for sharing that lovely moment. You`ve got a helluva to-do list there for the weekend, but it does include some creative/ `fun` bits so I hope you enjoy doing that stuff. Also, sometimes it helps to have a deadline.

YL, chilling by the fire curled up with a dog - the perfect antidote to a brain fog. ( I know some folks manage with cats but they`re a poor substitute IMO!) Hope you`re refreshed and enjoying the weekend now.

Mcculloch - your `magic greengrocer` sounds like my FarmShop chap! It`s wonderful to have a place like this to rely on. I know some FS`s are rather expensive and sometimes a bit elitist, in fact there`s a couple of those in our area as well, and I`ve been appalled at some prices on the few occasions I`ve gone to those for a look around.
My FS started as just a family butchers shop on the farm, selling home-killed meat, home-made pies, sausages etc., and eggs, plus selling dawn-delivered bread from a local `real` bakery. Then Veg man joined them as a separate `no frills` shop on the farm, but getting stuff from local growers and buying allotment surplus as well as the wholesale market.
His business has grown to include dried stuff like pulses, various petfood/birdfood that he`ll happily sell by the little bag or the sack, and large cheapie flagons of oils and vinegars, and sacks of kindling wood. ALL at really good prices. The symbiosis of the 2 businesses has helped both to grow and keep rices down as they get loads of trade - doubled in last 2 years, apparently! Good for them And for their regular customers!

    Messy Status Report -
No de-messifying again, just tick-over stuff here. DS`s GF went home yesterday, DGD is in residence for the weekend, and is being very helpful with lots of little jobs.
Went to doc as appt yesterday evening, he`d already sent a referral to hospital day before when scan faxed to him. It does seem I`m having a large cyst but we don`t know when it`s due! Should have hospital Gynae appt in a week/10 days.
Thanks all Messies for kind thoughts & wishes - I DO apologise for starting to sound like a one-woman medical soap!
Meanwhile it`s Le Weekend again so am putting it all on a back burner and continuing light duties (ie, ineffectual bits of pottering & bossing folks around!) This afternoon DGD and I are going to experiment again with microwave sponge... haven`t thought about other cooking yet but will probably throw a chicken in oven & steam some veg. Whatever!
It`s lovely and sunny here and I`m getting really good at ignoring the dust that it shows up!
Have a good weekend Messies. x
  • ok seven binliners full of old school work

I feel a bit sick, I have been holding on to that stuff for over a year. It took my 20 mins to bag up.

I now need to it to the tip.

Sorry, know that is a bit much. I have just never been with anyone who is so kind to me. And he helped me with the fish tank.

The house is a total state. :) but he was so helpful, much of the heavy lifting is done.

And after a snack and a list I shall get back to it. I am actually very excited to have the possibility of a nice bedroom.

  • Afternoon messies

We have the painters in for another couple days, been here two days already as we're having the outside of the house worked on and the garage. Yesterday and today they have replaced the old wood and slates on the top of our garage and cemented the side bits at the front so the damp wont get in (no more condensation yay)!
Also have had part of the framework to the front door replaced, filled and painted, looks absolutely blimming lovely <3 and the front and back doors have been revarnished too. More work to be done over the next 2 days, including them taking stuff to the tip for us (old wood, some bits in the garage we dont need).

Unfortunately found out today our radiator in the kitchen has a broken valve, it will have to come off in the summer months when we dont need it, have the pipes bled and then it can be fixed for next winter, but its not urgent right now.

Finances are a bit of a shambles at the minute with all the outside work going on so will wait until thats done in order to sort it out.

Today just been doing odd jobs - cleaned buns, did 2 loads of laundry, one load pegged up to dry and the other of which I will peg up later before doing another load to clear it until next Sunday.

Otherwise not too bad around here at the moment - longing for the better weather so we can do a car boot and get some more carp removed from the garage lol.
