I'm delighted that so many of you are enjoying this recipe. It's a really nice feeling to know that something that I first posted 2 years ago is getting tried by a whole new bunch of mse'rs, and they are still enjoying it!

Thank you so much for this recipe. I took some pies around to my mum yesterday who thought they were lovely and commented that it was the first time she'd ever known me to make mince pies (I'm 51 so about time).
  • I have just finished making these.....and forgot to put the sugar in  but they are still the most delicious mince pies I have ever tasted...many thanks for the recipe:T hubby has eaten 3 already.

I made these for the first time. It was quite interesting as I took them into work. The majority of people liked them except a few who preferred the ones made with butter. Very crispy and cooked well. I make mince pies but dont like them so Researcher`s recipe won overall.

Will be trying these at the weekend. Had alreayd made lots of mince pies using a great american recipe for pastry that uses half trex half butter. I alway shave trex in the fridge because it's useful for vegan buttercream (I have a vegan friend who's very partial to cupcakes...) so I shall use it up in mince pies. SCRUM!
  • Hi researcher - just want to say a huge thanks for this pastry recipe, been making pastry for 20 years but this is by far the nicest ever, never used Trex before but converted now - thanks again.:D
