i've just had a phone call from them too, for some reason i said yes to an appointment (they caught me at a very bad time at work). Anyway after about 10mins and reading stuff on here I phoned back to cancell it. They were very rude to me and were not happy about me cancelling it.

Easier to tell them your address is 57 High Street, Burton-upon-Trent.

It is the address of their regulator.

If you can tell them your name is Chris Grayling that is even better.
  • just had a apoinment with them yesterday, only reson i did this was i have no paper work from credit cards i had in the past, had quite a few for sure. anyway when they phoned i was told they can just go on a data base and find all my past history, bonus i thought as i could not find a way to get these details, anyway the guy looked through some i had from a small number of cards and then explained that the ones i had no info on could not be chased has they had no means off finding out who they was.
so sounds like i should not have bothered.
Think i might just cancel. looked at there terms and seems as long as i cancel within the 14days there is no charge.

Is there any way i can find out without any paperwork, i had that many am not even sure who i had all the cards with.

The guy who owns the company has a website - google "nevillewilshire.com" to see it and from it you can see he runs a group of companies called the "Save Britain Money Group" - which also has a website (I can't post links sorry)

The site actually has the cheek to offer money saving advice!

So a rip-off company actually trying portray itself as a useful tool to the consumer - slime ball.

Yup. But pay if you do even if it's taken off arrears....

    "5. Charges and payment.

Our charges are 25% + V.A.T. (e.g. £1,000 compensation awarded– our fee £250 + V.A.T. of £50, equalling £300) of any and all compensation offered by any institution that we deal with on the client's behalf, even if the client decides not to accept compensation offered by the institution, company or person offering the said compensation.
    ...
Compensation can come in the form of a cash settlement and/or loan balance/arrears reduction. (e.g. you may receive an £800 cash settlement and a £200 reduction of the loan balance, meaning total compensation of £1000 and our fee being £250 plus VAT.). If a lender offers a full refund of payment protection insurance, and reduces your loan amount accordingly, without actually giving you cash refund, our fee is still payable."

    Steer clear, complain yourself.

All anyone has to do is go to the website, read their T&Cs and see what a rip off they are. No need for first hand advice.

I notice you haven't responded to any of the complaints of cold calling despite being registered with the TPS.
How about a bit of first hand knowledge about that?

So what's your vested interest in the company?

So common consensus is that WCUG is like every other fee taking claims company, ie to be avoided at all costs in keeping with the spirit of MSE?
