Halifax Guaranteed card offer for existing customers

Thanks for the useful info here. Can I be cheeky and ask what type of limit they gave with the card, was it £1200 as advert?Same thing happened to me. Applied for the credit card with guaranteed accceptance only for it be referred.
Called them on next working day to find out it actually went to underwriters. So I explained it was a guaranteed offer. At which point the advisor went off to speak to underwriters and the decision was overturned and my application was accepted within couple of minutes. FYI, my last application for halifax credit card was just rejected in November.
Also the customer advisor advised that had I called them on phone to apply, they would have been able to open the account without conducting a full credit search unlike online application which always involves a credit search.
Ps, make sure you check your experian credit report. They seem to have done a duplicate search which exerpian are going to remove within 7 days.

I have been given credit limit of £6,000 which was same as provisional credit limit.
From what I have found, if it's a guaranteed offer then underwriters play no part in determining apr and credit limit you get.0 -

I don't think I will get any such offers in the next millenium :rotfl:
Do you use it as your main account? I do have two full accounts with HBOS, both within the first year old so maybe that is why I get no offers, also I dont use as main account neither.0 -
Thanks as always :jDr_Cuckoo3 wrote: »here you go
the text states the following
"We guarantee to accept you for our Bank of Scotland All in One Credit Card if you apply today*.
Your card comes with two great offers that could give you more flexibility in managing your finances and save you money on interest payments.
Your guaranteed and exclusive offer:
0% interest on purchases for the first 12 months
0% interest for the first 12 months on balance transfers, 3% transfer fee applies
No annual fee
Representative 17.9% APR variable
Representative example:
The purchase rate of this card is 17.95% p.a. variable with a representative 17.9% APR variable, if you borrowed £1,200 and repaid it over 12 months.
To qualify for 0% interest you’ll need to stay within your credit limit and make your minimum monthly payments on time. Balance transfers can be made from most credit and some store cards, excluding other Halifax or Bank of Scotland products.
So if this card sounds right for you, then why not apply online and take advantage of our great offer today?

Credit available subject to status to UK residents aged 18 or over.
*This guaranteed offer is only available for a limited period and will be removed from your online offers when it has expired."
This is the first credit card offer I have received via HBOS internet banking and I suspect that my existing Halifax credit card prevented additional cards being offered - so I think Bank of Scotland have been separated from Halifax now and will disregard Halifax products when marketing its own products0 -

I have only kept their rewards account for 6 months and don't use it as man account either with no direct debits and standing orders. Only transfer £1000 for few seconds in a month and then transfer back to original account.
That being said, I do have their websaver account. Opened it last Feb and have kept over 5k in it all the time. That is going to be emptied soon when I'll pay the deposit for the house.0 -
I applied for a 'guaranteed card' after having it pop up when logging into my online bank account.
So I applied hoping to transfer a sizable barclaycard balance onto it, anyway I got the 'referred please wait 10 days' message.
Following advice on here I rang them straight up, but without even taking my details the guy just said that's normal procedure even for 'guaranteed applications'.
He said they would be looking into other matters such as credit limits etc so he didn't even take my reference or personal details. He said he couldn't even look into it unless 14 days had passed. He also said "You'll almost certainly get accepted if it was a guaranteed offer", as they declined me back in November I'm not holding my breath now.0 -

Call again and see if you get different advisor on the phone and ask about your application.
I applied early Monday morning and was on phone at 9am. I was put on hold while my advisor went to speak to underwriters and she came back, she confirmed I was accepted. She was also able to confirm my provisional credit limit along with my apr and 0% deal for x amount of months.0 -

Just tried again and got the same blurb, maybe they've changed the process? If I'd known it would be a full credit search etc I wouldn't have bothered! I will update once I hear something presumably via post..0 -

Well to be fair, less then 48 hours after first applying I've recieved my credit agreement to sign. I've got the highest APR at 23.9 and the shortest 0% BT period of 11 months.
Not sure on my limit as to whether I can transfer the lot off Barclaycard yet, I'm sure I read somewhere you can find it on one of the footers of the letter?
My only issue is if I BT onto it the after 11 months it will be go to a rate higher than my current card. My credit profile isn't great so I'm worried I'd be left with a load of debt at a higher rate.0 -
Your credit limit is the first 4 digits of the code printed at the bottom of the first page of the form that you sign and send back to HalifaxDebt free and staying that way! :beer:0
