Hi,
My online banking is showing that I am eligible for a guaranteed card. I rang Halifax application line and they have transferred me to the Guaranteed line.
I was interested in the Plus card with 0% for 15 months.
The guy told me Guaranteed card is showing on my account but he can only go through an application for a Clarity or Charity card. Not the Plus card.
Is this card available on Guaranteed applications?

It would depend on your internal credit score with them as to whether your application is succesful for it.0

You're obviously not guaranteed for the plus card. Try the normal application line and don't mention the guaranteed offer. But it's a risk, because you might not get it and then you might lose the guarantee on the other cards.Getting married 02.08.14
Wins for the wedding: membership for a 'wedsite' and app, £35 gift voucher for party supplies shop, £50 worth of hand painted signs, 1kg of heart shaped marshmallows :money:0 -
Well I rang again and without giving my sort code & account number they put me through to the Guaranteed line. Again I did not gave my account details and ask for the Plus card - said they can only do applications for Clarity or Charity over the phone and not the Plus card.0

what's so good about the guaranteed cards? could someone post a link to this?

I've been getting guaranteed credit card messages every time I've logged on lately.
Mine is saying
0% for the first 12 months on purchases
and
0% for 9 months on balance transfers (plus 3% fee).
Thereafter a rate of 15.9% APR representative variable will apply. That's a bonus on top of our current online offer, and a little extra help from Halifax.
Probably different for everyone though. It doesn't mention what card it is.In spite of the cost of living, it’s still popular :eek:0 -
I've not had any guaranteed offers. Do you only get them with Halifax as your main account, or can you also get them logging in at their Bank of Scotland site like I do?0

Yeah I got that, applied online, got it last September. They've already increased my limit!
Apply online, you'll get the forms sent in the post to send back. APR after the 0% period can vary from 15.9, 18.9 or 21.9 percent if I remember correctly, but that was in September, so may have changed. The APR depends on your score with Halifax0 -
Sorry to bump this old thread, but how do I check if I have got a guaranteed credit card offer?0

1. Do as the OP did and check your online banking!Sorry to bump this old thread, but how do I check if I have got a guaranteed credit card offer?
2. Call into branch. They'll look at your 'profile' on screen and be able to tell you what, if anything, you're guaranteed for (overdraft facilities as well as credit cards).
NB: In my experience the offers differ between branch and online. For example, I had a guaranteed branch offer of a £10K Clarity card a few months ago, whilst at the same time a guaranteed online offer of a £6K 'All in One' card. I took the latter.0
