Hi guys
I don't suppose it's too cheeky to ask to see a screen print of such a guaranteed offer. Mine shows me a card when I log in but it doesn't show guarantee anywhere.
Maybe I'm missing it? Or don't have it. Please, if you could screen capture it I'd be really grateful.
here you go
the text states the following
"We guarantee to accept you for our Bank of Scotland All in One Credit Card if you apply today*.
Your card comes with two great offers that could give you more flexibility in managing your finances and save you money on interest payments.
Your guaranteed and exclusive offer:
0% interest on purchases for the first 12 months
0% interest for the first 12 months on balance transfers, 3% transfer fee applies
No annual fee
Representative 17.9% APR variable
Representative example:
The purchase rate of this card is 17.95% p.a. variable with a representative 17.9% APR variable, if you borrowed £1,200 and repaid it over 12 months.
To qualify for 0% interest you’ll need to stay within your credit limit and make your minimum monthly payments on time. Balance transfers can be made from most credit and some store cards, excluding other Halifax or Bank of Scotland products.
So if this card sounds right for you, then why not apply online and take advantage of our great offer today?
Regards,
Jasjyot Singh
Head of Business Development and Strategy
Credit available subject to status to UK residents aged 18 or over.
*This guaranteed offer is only available for a limited period and will be removed from your online offers when it has expired."
This is the first credit card offer I have received via HBOS internet banking and I suspect that my existing Halifax credit card prevented additional cards being offered - so I think Bank of Scotland have been separated from Halifax now and will disregard Halifax products when marketing its own productsHi, we’ve had to remove your signature. So I finally applied for the credit card and got the usual message in the end that we will contact you within 10 days.
The offer disappeared soon after but it has come back. Although the offer said it was guaranteed to be approved, I still am not sure that it will be accepted.

Hi,
I had the same message "guaranteed card" at the side of all my various accounts. Applied and got a message also saying we will be in touch with a decision in 10 days?
Is this common practice for the Halifax?
Thanks.0 -

Same thing happened to me. Applied for the credit card with guaranteed accceptance only for it be referred.
Called them on next working day to find out it actually went to underwriters. So I explained it was a guaranteed offer. At which point the advisor went off to speak to underwriters and the decision was overturned and my application was accepted within couple of minutes. FYI, my last application for halifax credit card was just rejected in November.
Also the customer advisor advised that had I called them on phone to apply, they would have been able to open the account without conducting a full credit search unlike online application which always involves a credit search.
Ps, make sure you check your experian credit report. They seem to have done a duplicate search which exerpian are going to remove within 7 days.0 -

Thanks for that it is actually on behalf on my fiance, she was off long term sick 4 years ago and subsquently fell behind on alot of credit agreements and defaulted on one. She has been back working for the last 3 years and has been using barclaycard and capital one credit builder cards, paying off in full every month to rebuild her credit, she has now cleared all of her other debts and only spends £50-100 a month on cards for her credit building. When she got the "guaranteed" offer of a prime credit card we decided to apply for it to continue her credit building process. Only to find she was refused!!! She was quite upset.
She's going to give them a call today to see what they say. Thanks for taking the time to reply.0 -

She has just rung them and been given the same advice as the previous poster. Its a glitch in the system. Online goes through a credit check +/- underwriters. If you ring up when you have the guaranteed offer you get accepted. Strange thats its offered on "online banking" to have to ring up but I guess nothing is straight forward in banking is it!
Thought it might be useful for others thinking about applying - just ring up and they send the paperwork straight out rather than having to wait the 10 days for the underwriters online...0 -
I applied online (not a guranteed offer), and got the 10 day message. Got the credit agreement 2 days later.Debt free and staying that way! :beer:0
