I have seen some notices up in asda saying they are stopping accepting cheques ~ not sure from what date though.

I have not used cheques for YEARS and didnt even know where my cheque book is. However, my solicitor I have recently instructed requires payment by cash or cheque, so I had to ask my bank to send me one. Asked solicitor if they accepted payment via debit card or transfer into their account and they don't!

So yes I do use cheques, just for solicitors!

    I still use cheques occasionally.

Shop assistants are often very un-used to them these days and I find that they sometimes try to give my cheque back with my card. Its a good job I'm honest!!

I use cheques for school items and for paying through the post. One cheque book lasts for ages tho'.

I use a few cheques, not many. Things like paying the man who services the central heating boiler and when I have my hair cut (at home), and the window cleaner.

    sometimes it's for the best!:D
If I didn't have a cheque book I probably would have saved a lot of bank charges!
My oh also finds it handy "you just pay with a cheque we'll sort it later"
    It never does get "sorted!"

  • There are more and more shops and petrol stations that no longer accept cheques. I have just filled one out with an application form for a marriage certificate (just started hubby's family history). Other than that I probably use them twice a year.

    I already do! lol:p
I will be lost of tesco's stop accepting them!
I need them for provident too, as they don't accept card payments it's cheque or cash and the only proof I have is if the collector signs my book-which some weeks she doesn't so I like to have a "back-up"
