Thanks, that's good to know, perhaps the part-payment thing was the issue. Maybe I should try the machine again, though given I've already used the booking reference, heaven knows if that would work!
This particular station has an office that is only open for a few hours a day, it wasn't open when I was there. I'll go there another time.0 -
Please note if you are planning to use this deal. Red spotted hanky have confirmed to me that lots of people are having problems collecting tickets from the self-service machines when they have been paid for by e-vouchers. It's not clear whether these problems apply only to part-payment or also full-payment.
They say their technical people are working on this urgently, and their customer service people are doing their best to sort out each person's case.
They gave me a non-premium number to call for Red Spotted Hanky customer services: 01902 627981

Had the problem (again) with only one ticket printing from the machine. Contacted them (for free) on atosonline@atosorigin.com and they confirmed that there is a problem with printing multiple tickets using vouchers from some machines. They will post tickets out to me.
I suggest you book and check out each ticket seperately if using vouchers so you get a reference code for each ticket.
It it worth noting that you don't have to spend the whole Tesco voucher in one go - if you underspend the balance remains in your account to use next time.0 -

Did you go to the ticket office at the station (assuming it has one)?
They wont do anything as its a third party who has sold you the tickets so the ultimate responsibility lies with them not the TOc/Station staff.
Though i do know some are nicer then others.one of the famous 50 -

I ordered tickets (two singles, outward and return) using the e-voucher and paying the remaining few pounds on a credit card (it took 24 hrs for registration on the site, then another 24 hrs for the voucher to come through, so be aware of that if you are planning a journey)
When I went to collect the tickets at a self-service machine, it printed the outward ticket, then flashed up a message saying it couldn't print the other ticket as it had not been paid for on the card inserted. Of course it hadn't - it had been paid for by the e-voucher. Had i known this would be a problem I could have had them posted to me instead, but the site doesn't indicate you can't collect tickets from the machines. So now i have an outward ticket but no return.
I thought I'd try calling customer service to try and sort this out, but the number is a premium rate £1 per minute, which then put me a queue! I hung up, and have tried emailing them.
I will report back on their response. I still have a week before I travel, so hopefully I can get it sorted out by then, but imagine if I'd been travelling the same day?! Anyway it's a pain.
If anyone has suggestions on how to deal with this, or has a non-premium number I can call, I'd be grateful!
Just to let you know, tried Redspottedhanky yesterday to book tickets and collected both sets of tickets today from a station ticket machine (TVM).
One set of tickets was totally paid for by Tesco Clubcard vouchers and required any debit card and the Ref number to collect from the TVM.
The Other set of tickets was part voucher part debit card payment and required the payment debit card and Ref number to collect from the TVM.
So hopefully they seem to have fixed the problems they had with clubcard vouchers payment and TVM'sWhoa! This image violates our terms of use and has been removed from view0 -
I've just received my tickets from Red Spotted Hanky booked using Tesco Clubcard points. Well £60 of the fare was from Clubcard points and £37 extra.
I had the tickets sent direct to me and it was free to have them sent. It seems like a really good deal.
Fingers crossed they all work on the train.0 -

There is no reason they should not work provided that you are travelling on the correct train your ticket may be valid on not peak time on an off peak ticket and such like.one of the famous 50 -

It does not matter about name on bottom of ticket as train staff dont look at that.
So anyone can use the tickets so u don't need to worry.0 -
Heads up -- you can get a £5 voucher valid against any tickets bought from redspottedhanky.com You must have an account with redspottedhanky and a facebook account. Visit this web page to get yours.
I found this on the web and it says there are 44 left and the promo is valid until the end of this month. I applied for mine just now so it hasn't come through yet -- it says it takes 72 hours for the voucher to be applied and I have certainly noticed that it takes time for the Tesco vouchers to appear in my account, so this is probably the same.
Am posting this in various places on MSE. Hope that is OK.0
