I made it into the Sauchiehall Street store yesterday, after reading comments it was less crowded than I expected. Queues were around 10 minutes long - only six assistants serving, which was a bit naff. Managed to get a pair of dusky plum skinny flares with plaited gold belt down to a fiver from £14 and a pair of khaki chinos that are a really nice fit.
Also got a red and blue check shirt and a pair of fleece boots that are really oversized socks. Good range of accessories for keeping warm this year. There was a gorgeous jacquard heavy weave smock top in one weird colourway and one lovely colourway, such a common thing in Primark, I wish they'd make twice the number of the nice ones! None in my size, waah.
Never mind, I was happy with what I got. Is the Sauchiehall Street store the main one or is the one on
Argyle Street bigger?
Having seen far more of the range in Glasgow than I have in Darlington, I'm tempted to go to the Newcastle store this week.
Re trousers, My daughter is 6'2'' and a year ago Primark had some skinny fit jeans that were way too long on me (I'm 5'9'') that fitted her well. But they were a one-off, I think.Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." I'm probably the only one, but I wear my fleecy pjs all year round! (Just the bottoms though). I do look forward to wearing them lots on cold winter nights.
You're not the only one! I absolutely love my purple fleecy pjs with multicoloured stars on!My sister thinks i'm weird that I wear them so much but I love to be warm and I don't get too hot actually! (even in summer!)

The Bristol Primark is the best one I reckon. It's apparently their flagship one now.. even bigger than Oxford Street in London. Primark did startup originally in the Bristol area I think. Bristol Primark used to be House of Fraser so is massive, has 4 floors!! It has the best selection of stuff i've seen. I haven't been in there that recently, but I got a lovely pair of black ballerina pumps with a bow and sequin detail on the toe when I was last in there. I really like them0

Sounds similar to the Manchester Primark, another that I think is much better than the Oxford Street store in London. Manchester has so much more choice than Oxford Street.0 -

The Sauchiehall Street one has been here much longer; Argyle Street opened about 5 years ago (and I was handed a Primark balloon..some people smirked at me as I walked home with it, but I was genuinely excited at its opening!).0 -
Edit: (Picasa upload via Android didn't work) Wednesday's shop from Primark:

£3, were £12, and going like hot cakes. Two different varieties of diamante sandals.
Sorry I mucked it up..tried to do it from my mobile.0 -
Argyle Street is bigger; it was an old Littlewoods, and has three floors to Sauchiehall Street's two, but they're both big stores.

I would have been as well! Before Primark opened in Darlington I used to go on a 60 mile round trip to the Newcastle store. That's quite a big store, perhaps a little bit bigger than Sauchiehall Street.
The Newcastle Primark store used to be C&A. Every time I go in there I'm reminded that when I lived in Germany 30 years ago C&A was the only shop that sold clothes I could afford. Even then, I could only really get them in the sales.
I had a tiny wardrobe.
Even on returning to the UK my clothes were very limited - mostly M & S charity shop buys! - until Primark really took off. No wonder I love the place!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... I would have burned the pink candle, sculptured like a rose, that melted in storage." One of the best primark buys atm are the fuggs (fake uggs) at £5 for an adult pair!
I know they aren't the real deal but they are good quality and have a hard sole - not like those foamy type ones which you see on other fake uggs which get squashed down after two seconds. I bought some last year and they lasted for a year out and about and the sole was like new. I told my mum about them and they are still the same price and she has one pair for indoors and one pair for out hehe
NOTE: Even if you don't wear them outside they are fab as slippers! Especially with the winter coming up.0 -
I really do not like Uggs..they're not an eyesore like Crocs but it's the impracticality aspect..ie, letting in snow, rain, and at silly prices, into the bargain. The Aussies apparently find it very amusing that we Brits wear them as winter wear, they wear them as slippers.
But I'll have check out the Primark Fuggs as slippers (Fug(ly) means something quite different in the Viz Profanisaurus. Yes, I do need to grow up a bit)0 -

As for size, this is from Wiki: The largest Primark store is located on Market Street, Manchester, England occupying 100,000 sq ft (9,300 m2) of retail space, spread over three floors. This store superseded a Liverpool branch in 2008 after TK Maxx moved from the basement floor to the Arndale Centre.
