I got this yesterday, apologies, as it's not really a bargain, it was full price (I assume it's new stock). I didn't really like the matching jacket, but the "bustle" at the hips, gathered fabric at the chest, tartan design and wiggle style is very Viv Westwood.

The label says Atmosphere Co-Ordinates, £20. Thought you'd like a look anyway: http://i55.tinypic.com/2lw0w8j.jpg

There was only one in my size so I thought I better buy it, rather than wait for reductions (as I sometimes do) :)

Edit: The dress looks a little asymmetrical, but it's because I took the photo in haste; it's lovely on, promise!
  • Apologies if this was posted before. I picked up an Opia ceramic roller hair brush (for use with hairstyling, works with hairdryer to create curls, rolls etc) a fairly small barrel, was £1.50 and it works very well.
Regarding the underwear, the best buys imo are not the cotton 5 for £2.50 pairs but the seamless stretch synthetic ones at 3 for £5. These are soooo comfortable and wear really well. I've got a dozen pairs and unlike a lot of Primark stuff, the sizing is very generous.
I wonder if anyone else with girls in the family who don't like pink have a problem finding Primark clothes? My 10 yo DGD (size 12/13) hates pink and getting Primark gear for her is such a challenge.
Picked up some lovely T-shirts for children at £1 in Darlington Primark. Good range of colours and sizes
Have to say I'm disappointed with the selection of jewellery at the moment. I bought some gorgeous Murano style glass pendants a few years ago that are indistinguishable from the real thing. Would love to see these again.
I'm visiting Glasgow for the day Saturday - am sooo tempted to pop in to the main store!

My eldest is 12/13 and fits in the adult ranges now which gives much more choice. I know what you mean about the girls clothes - my ten year old hates pink and lived in boys combat shorts and printed t-shirts during the summer. She average sized for her age but I bought her a t-shirt from the adult section yesterday in a size 6 and it fits well. They have a huge range of character t-shirts (muppets, little miss, tweety pie etc) for £6. The fabric is lovely.

Slowly reading through this thread. I am very spoiled as I live right round the corner from Trongate (Glasgow), so I have the choice of two big Primarks, Argyle Street is a short walk and Sauchiehall Street is about 15 minutes away. Also one in Parkhead Forge about 2 miles away, if you want to be really thorough, though it's smaller.

Unfortunately, lanky me is 6'1 so I can't buy a lot of things (I did ask forlornly if they'd ever do "tall" trousers and was told it was unlikely). So I tend to buy the odd dress that won't look obscene (ie, a bit longer!), t-shirts, jewellery, some undies, towels, socks.

I was so relieved to read about the lemon dress sizing problems. I have put a bit of weight on since my stringbean size 6 days. But I could barely get the size 10 over my head! I felt like I had shoulders like a shot-putter, struggled and puffed my way out of it and left the shop in a massive sulk that day. I may sound in denial, but I'm not that big. Honest.

Someone's said before the sizing is a bit schizoid in there, so, maybe..

I really like the faux fur teal coloured jackets (with dragonfly diamante brooch) that were in there a few days ago (also new, I assume, they were £35, quite pricey for Primark). Also diamante/feather embellished leopardprint slippers at £3. They've got kitschy feather mule slippers too at the same price. And Batgirl knickers I liked, £2.50 (I like superhero-ey things, I have a ton of Wonder Woman tees from Primark). Sighs. Have to go back in tomorrow.

I think if they set up an online shop the servers would crash!!

Really like this too, but haven't seen it while out shopping: http://www.instyle.co.uk/fashion/editors-picks/primark-collection-aw-2011/primark-collection-aw11-58

PS: TK Maxx is more-or-less next door (again, spoiled!) and I go in both, their clearance sales absolutely rock. And I was in heaven when they went online.

Next have a lot of 'tall' items in their sale

Its sometimes awkward being tall isn't it!
  • I got 30 metal-free hair bands in Primark the other day for £1. They are £1.50 for 5 in M&S! Got 3 packs, should be good for hairbands for a while :D
So so SO tired of being ripped off, and mislead
    Hope sharing saves some pain.

Sorry, I meant the TK Maxx website, apologies if I misunderstood that. The Primark one is more a promotional site.

Some of my best bargains ever have been from TK Maxx. £2 marked down knickers from Agent Provocateur (I almost wooped out loud when I found them instore!) and a diamond Citizen Eco Drive watch for £16.99 online..still convinced that was a mistake.

Er, anyway, back to Primark. Can I confess I actually ripped the lemon dress? I practically ran out the store when I put it back on the rail..And bought myself a salad on the way home.
  • Don't feel bad Loulou, the sizing in that dress was off in every Primark:rotfl:I was in today but I've been reallly good and only bought hairbands and clips. TBH I had my youngest with me and I can never get looking in peace when they're there so will be back on Monday when normal service will resume and I'll be back to hiding brown paper bags at the back of the wardrobe!!

I picked up some of these a while ago and am really impressed with them.

I too confess to issues with the lemon dress...as in there was no way I was going to get into that b*gger unless I could somehow apparate into it a la Harry Potter or Rentaghost styleee. All I can say to the designers is - ZIPS! (actually could have prob bought it and fitted a zip but without being able to get into it, I couldn't possibly know what it looked like on, either hot...or like a pair of grannys curtains :rotfl:)
