I got the pink apron for £1 today, it is gorgeous!!! :D I also got a lovely brown tweed weekend bag for £2.
Tara747, it's usually best to pop in during the morning and definitely before lunchtime!! The queues att lunchtime are a nightmare. Happy shopping. I'm going to try and NOT go tomorrow but I"m working in town and like I said I HAVE to pass it on my way home. I will be strong and resist!!

    LOL. Did you resist?
I used to work at Primark...here are my thoughts on what's worth buying, from my own experience:

Ladies: PJs. Up to £6 a pair, lasted over a year with no problems.
Ladies: Stretch T shirts: £2-£3 for short sleeve, £2.90-£3 long sleeve. These keep their shape and colour well and again, have survived over a year.
Ladies: Socks. Surprisingly, I have had a few pairs since 2008 which are still fine.
Ladies: Leather/suede gloves. Not in stock at the moment, but worth snapping up when they're available.
Ladies: Some of the jewellery is genuinely nice and looks just like Mikey or some of the more expensive brands; got two exquisite bracelets for £3 and £2.50 respectively, one of which has a very similar one in Accessorize for £18.
Ladies: Womens boxers are a great fit, better than Topshop which are more than double the price.
Ladies: Tights and holdups: Good quality and fit.

Men: Regular fit T shirts and polos
    Men: PJ bottoms (the 2-packs)

The following items are to be avoided:

Ladies: Cashmere, bobbles and shrinks in the first wash
Ladies: Cashmillion (mock cashmere), bobbles and looks nasty very fast
Ladies: Pants other than boxers: Odd sizing; some come up tiny and some are massive.

Men: Jumpers: Look worn very quickly.

    Thanks for this. Duly noted.

I agree about the PJs, love them, esp. the brushed cotton and fleecy ones.

I also love their dressing gowns, they last so well and look very luxurious and expensive - I have 3, they all cost £5 in the sale.

Not so keen on the socks - they tend to wear quite thin very quickly, and go hard after a few washes.

The jewellery is VERY hit and miss, but about 5-10% of it is gorgeous and sells out fast so be quick. :)

The leather/suede gloves - yup, love them, fab quality and can be had for as little as £1 a pair. :D

Their tights are great, esp. the higher denier ones, they last as long as more expensive brands.

I also ADORE their plain dyed fitted sheets, I have some that have lasted me 5-6 years and are almost as good as new.

Has anyone tried Primark's version of Spanx?

  • No Tara I didn"t, resistence is futile!! Went and got another load of stuff yesterday!! Did you get the apron in Belfast? Yes, I've tried their version of Spanx and they're good. Just don't fall asleep in them when you've had on coke too many, it took ages for the marks to disappear!!!

Tara, I forgot to mention the dressing gowns. I love them too. Even at full price (£12) which is what I paid, they're fantastic value for money.

I'm going to try the towels given the amount of recommendations for them. I also have a pop up laundry basket which survived a year in student halls and is still going strong!!

Went to the Belfast store yesterday and came away with ....... nothing. I could only nip in at lunch and it was just so busy and so messy that I gave up as I couldn't find the things I was looking for. I'll have to try again when I go a bit earlier or later.
  • I was in today again returning something for my Mum!! I got a grey barrel bag for 2 quid and also red umbrellas with chain strap for 1 pound. I had to get 4 off them, cos they keep disappearing!!

Not pleased with my primark pajamas I bought last week. They already have a hole in the crotch where the stitching has come undone. I've only worn them twice.
This also happened with some slippers I bought last year, after wearing them twice the stitching came away on one slipper so my toes poked out.
So watch out for dodgy stitching!
