Tempted to get one of the reduced maxi dresses at the manchester store tomorrow.
They are long but I am thinking if I wear heels it might be ok.0 -
Went to the Oxford store a couple of days ago and got three dresses, six tops, a slip and three pairs of control leggings for £70 - really pleased! Considering that one dress from White Stuff can cost that much I was thrilled. Sizing all over the place though - I'm usually a 10, but the strappy summer tops with the ruching (which are really pretty) gave me the underarm equivalent of a muffintop so I had to go up a size on those. The floaty ones were fine though - I'm so glad you gave the advice to try everything on or I'd have had a long trip back, so thanks!
I did purchase the lemon dress, although they only had sizes 6, 8 and 20 on display. A bit of rummaging around the changing room racks found a size 14 which was okay everywhere except the straps, which were too big but I think I can alter. The style of the lemon dress is repeated in loads of other prints; I got a green flowery one which is identical in cut and style. Be warned though - the dresses do show a fair bit of leg if you're tall. I'm only 5'2" and it's still slightly above my knee (went straight into Superdrug to get some fake tan after I'd tried them on!).0 -
Sorry if these come out big !
Apron - £4 but scans at £1
Set of 3 saucepans - £10
Can someone post a pic of the lemon dress if possible0 -
I used to work at Primark...here are my thoughts on what's worth buying, from my own experience:
Ladies: PJs. Up to £6 a pair, lasted over a year with no problems.
Ladies: Stretch T shirts: £2-£3 for short sleeve, £2.90-£3 long sleeve. These keep their shape and colour well and again, have survived over a year.
Ladies: Socks. Surprisingly, I have had a few pairs since 2008 which are still fine.
Ladies: Leather/suede gloves. Not in stock at the moment, but worth snapping up when they're available.
Ladies: Some of the jewellery is genuinely nice and looks just like Mikey or some of the more expensive brands; got two exquisite bracelets for £3 and £2.50 respectively, one of which has a very similar one in Accessorize for £18.
Ladies: Womens boxers are a great fit, better than Topshop which are more than double the price.
Ladies: Tights and holdups: Good quality and fit.
Men: Regular fit T shirts and polos
Men: PJ bottoms (the 2-packs)
The following items are to be avoided:
Ladies: Cashmere, bobbles and shrinks in the first wash
Ladies: Cashmillion (mock cashmere), bobbles and looks nasty very fast
Ladies: Pants other than boxers: Odd sizing; some come up tiny and some are massive.
Men: Jumpers: Look worn very quickly.0 -

That is until the new one is built at the other end of Oxford Street in London (planned to be 120,000 sq ft)
I second linen trousers, mine always wear between the legs but the Primark ones have always lasted longer for me than others (e.g River Island ones lasted only a few weeks last summer). And they do soften up as they are worn and washed.
I worked at the Liverpool store and there were 4 retail floors (ie for the public) plus 2 staff levels and then a loading area for deliveries and for rubbish disposal, and I was told it was the biggest in the UK.0 -
No lemon dress in the Motherwell store. Is the sizing weird on these dresses? I bought a black one in an 8, had to return it, tried every size up to a 12 and i still couldnt get it over my head, strange!
Managed to get the LO lots of clothes!:j
They have them in Argyle Street. Not sure if Sauchiehall have them too.0 -
I think i know what the lemon dress is after a quick search online, i got this in a coral colour back in February - i bought a size 16 and it's big on the bottom, very tight on the chest and then the straps are loose!0

I'm just back, my resistence level is zero!! I got a grey fleece which is lovely and soft in the inside for 3 quid, brushed cotton jammies (pressies for Christmas) 2 quid each and a denim dress with a brown belt 3/4 of the way down. They had loads of the dresses in different colours and they were all 7 quid, although it was orginally marked at 19 Euro!!0

They have the lemon dress in the Brighton store. I tried it on but it didn't look right on me so I had to leave it but I did find another dress which I bought instead, as well as a nice floral ring & anchor necklace.0

The lemon dress was in Southampton today, along with the oranges print and various others in the same style.0
