I do remember now you mention it:-)
Cheers for the reminder. Here it is ?
I'm not sure that it provided my insiration though?
No pompousity intended but I see you have taken it that way.It appears my mention of hotlinks & a dupe issue have upset the apple cart.
I do think that circumventing MSE swear filters is not in the spirit of what MARTIN would wish though.
You were a great help to me in my early days of posting but in truth in the last 18 months or so you seem to have had a slight issue with me & have posted as such. There it is & all the best.0 -
First of all let me say that this post is not directed to anyone in particular but to everyone who post's on MSE
far to many respected members are getting involved in the politics of MSE and are making personal comments about how comps are posted by the OP's this is not only disrespectful to the OP's but it is also a discourtesy to fellow MSE members when the OP gets upset and they then decide not to post and there input is lost
it is not the job of ordinary members of MSE to police the boards and if anyone is unhappy with how a comp has been posted then there comments should be directed towards a BG and not to the OP in there thread or by sending them a PM or by any other means
people should remember that Posting is a privilege, not a right. as is being a member of MSE
maybe it's about time for the BG's to start issuing public warnings to people who don't adhere to MSE forum etiquette and follow the forums rules and also respect the forum motto
Please be nice to all MoneySavers.
they should consider indefinitely suspending members who continue to flaunt and violate the rules and choose to consistently antagonise fellow MSE members
I for the life of me cannot understand why people get upset when someone post's what they consider to be one of there competitions surely all that matters is that someone has posted the competition for the benefit of everyone on MSE
there are times when regular posters do not post comps through ill health or a change in personal circumstances or go away on holiday and much to the detriment of everyone there comps are sometimes not then posted0 -

I would just like to add further to my comments above
as my time is very limited these day's and I don't have very much time to enter or post competitions
I filter out any emails that have competitions in them I then do a by site search on MSE to see if the comps have been posted if they have I then check to see if I have entered them by looking for the ticks and enter any unticked comps
if I come across a comp that hasn't been posted I will then post the comp on MSE
I do this so that I can remember that I have entered the comp as it may be some considerable time before I re-visit that particular site again and so that I do not miss out on entering the comp and not because I bear any malice to anyone that may have previously posted the comp
I know that sometimes I may post some comps from someones regular site list, I posted some daily ones recently that Rock Chick Bird normally post's and I admit that I felt rather bad posting them but chose to do so for the rather selfish reasons above
I sometimes come across some comps that have never been posted before and I sometimes come across comps that I choose not to enter but I still post the comps up on MSE and I would hope that this outweighs the minor encroachments that I might make
as they say there are two sides to every story this is mine I am sure there will be many like me who don't have much time to enter comps and choose to just lurk and enter comps and choose also not to contribute to MSE
on the other hand there are those who rather unselfishly post abundantly
it would be nice if everyone could try and see the bigger picture and realize that we may be individual members of MSE but together we are one
it is not a competition to see who can post the most competitions or receive the biggest thanks and everyone's contribution to MSE should be valued no matter how big or small there contribution might be
think of MSE as a giant TV screen there are thousands of individual pixals that make up the bigger picture and each one plays it's own individual part in the bigger picture, without each individual pixal the picture would become obscure and eventually fade and die
do YOU! really want this to happen to MSE?
please STOP the arguments, bickering and back-fighting and remember that this is your beloved MSE which will be sorely missed if it where to close and be no more0 -
I wouldn't have the time to post comps so am eternally grateful to those who do. I don't know all the 'ins and outs' around the issues that are going on lately so I'm not qualified to comment.
What I would like to comment on is how much this board appears to have gone downhill (and fast).
There's no real structure to it anymore, I find it totally confusing and have even considered moving to a rival site (which I am loathe to do after all these years).
In my perfect world it would all go back the way it used to be, but of course that probably isn't going to happen.
We seem to have so many people competing to post (?) but yet (and sorry if I'm wrong on this and it's just me) the dailies, regulars etc don't appear to be updated regularly?
Am totally lost in all this, don't understand what's going on but I have a feeling it'd going to drive people away.
Hope it gets sorted but don't know what the solution is.....
ps - please don't abuse me for this post, it's just my opinion.
Huge thanks as usual to everyone who posts comps for the rest of us to enter - its very unselfish of you and very much appreciated.2015 wins: Nokia Lumia 735 Smartphone0 -

Ahh, that explains it
Thanks BHG, I thought it had changed again!
