:rotfl:Hi
I have just started comping again and am wondering how best to start.
Do people feel that it is worth the cost of doing text and postal comps as even postal comps are relatively expensive to enter with the recent rise in the cost of stamps (again!).
I suppose if there are much fewer entrants it would be worth it.
Does anyone know the stats on this sort of thing?
Do people feel that they get significantly more wins from any particular route of entry?
Are tiebreaker comps still anywhere or am I just getting old and things have moved on around me! ?
Sorry if these things have been asked before.
Thanks
Angela.
Hi, Angela
I don't know if I'm much help as I have never actually won from postal/text but I do feel the odds are slightly better (a couple of posters heve commented they win a lot from them).
princess pixiedust gives some excellent tips in the first few posts of the Postal, Text and Phone Comps thread.
There are usually quite a few text comps which charge 25p/50p (plus your networks standard charge) and I usually enter those - I am very reluctant to spend £1/£1.50 on the offchance:eek:
I don't see many tie-breakers, but I am afraid I am far too dim to do those anyway:rotfl:
Hopefully someone more coherent will be along in a minute!
Good luck

Have not signed on to MSE for some time, but am amazed at some of the posts on Discussion... Double standards or what?
Has nobody noticed that some very loyal posters have stopped posting comps due to the sarcasm and nasty remarks? Also other newer members who post comps from sites where regular posters would normally post?... *Confused smiley inserted*
I love Martin :A, and always will, but will not give up my time to bother searching those sites anymore.
Also noticed that certain people were not going to post comps anymore, are continuing to do so... Strange world...
Sleep wellx

As has been said before this board can be quite fast moving.People do move on & cease posting for various reasons, known to us & not known to us.Names that come to mind include Blackmidnight,MJ38 ,jokey & darcy.
It seems that lots of new members have joined in the last year & some take more of an active role than others.
When you state "Also noticed that certain people were not going to post comps anymore, are continuing to do so... Strange world..." I cannnot be certain who you are referring to.
If it is in relation to the posts on this page I have not seen any posts at all from MissLinda, who was a prolific poster of comps in the past.Immortalbeloved I think has posted two comps, which is very much below the usual rate of posting.
Coming to myself I stated here that I would cease posting comps for a few days.During those few days I considered the enjoyment I glean from MSE & decided to carry on as I was.
Naturally I hope that you continue to post comps for us but we must all decide these things for ourselves.0 -
Yes, weeowen you were one of those who were not going to post comps again. at least missinda kept her word re not posting comps in support of you...
None of us have real friends on MSE...................................... MSE MARTIN LEWIS ... :A ... THANK YOU.......................0 -

MissLinda's views and drivers are hers & if known or not to me would not be mooted on on here by me.
I have do great desire to move into correcting you but if you read my post here I think you'll find that at no point did I state that I would no longer post competitions.I merely stated " I feel that I should cease posting for a few days.A time for reflection may be due to me & the other party"
The lure of posting comps on here proved to addictive for me so I just thought never mind the comments & I' would just carry on.I received one or two personal messages encouraging this action as well.
Any interaction I,or you, may have in private with others on this site is between ourselves so let's not be too hasty in saying that real friends are not here.
Forums can be a funny thing but MSE comps have generally had a good vibe to them.0 -

The 'good vibe' went from 2 years back when loyal members left due to folk posting from their regular sites weeowen...
The list is endless...
Anyway happy comping, hope you win lots................................... MSE MARTIN LEWIS ... :A ... THANK YOU.......................0
