    de-lurking...

Just had to post about weddings - am an expert now having done it twice - lol!

My first wedding was bells and whistles and trying to satisfy everyone. Ended up quite stressful, and the marriage only lasted 7 years. Roll on a few years and I got married again. My 'new' hubby wasn't bothered about a big do, so we decided to be very relaxed and our only extravagance was a stretch limo to take all 10 of us from our house to the registry office and then into town. We wore our jeans and instead of flowers I bought a really pretty new bag that I could use again.

After the ceremony we went to a 'posh' burger bar and had burgers and chips and cocktails, then we went 10 pin bowling. My two nephews still say it was the best wedding they've ever been to.

We did have a "bit of a do" two weeks later over in Ireland as my hubby is irish and we didn't want his family and friends to miss out.

Definitely agree with the other posters - it's your day so make sure you do it your way

    xx

Afternoon all, Lindy-loo- you have the wedding YOU want to(and OH or course!!!!lol)

Grrrr,I am spitting feathers at the moment - DS has just txt to say that he's been broken into this morning:mad::mad: Everything is replaceable except his Grandpa's watch::sad:

Going to back to earlier posts-we run a "let's get cooking club"for our yr2's and when we get the salad, potatoes and beans etc from the school lottie,we make soups and sandwiches with the children. This way they follow the veg from planting to eating (and everything in between) We have also been lucky enough to have a chef come in and make thing like pasta salad or cous-cous and veg with the children.

    de1amo,

How can you choosing to drink and drive be your wife's fault? Your post is absolutely priceless! You often post on MSE about your drinking habits. Personally, I think your wife deserves a medal.
    I wholeheartedly agree

The wind here is wild. I've given up lifting everything that's blown over in the garden, it can stay where it is until the wind dies down. Thankfully we have had no problems with our power so I have a nice warming lamb tagine bubbling away

    Pink

    mmmm sounds lovely

very windy here too but we have some tall trees and hedges and they seem to be protecting the garden somewhat :)

on the ' when its yellow ...... 'theme :o i do try to do that but with kids in the house , it tends to end up with reams of toilet roll building up and then blocking  so i have to go round and flush every so often

can I ask a question re tomato plants? if you grow them indoors do they get pollinated???

Mardatha def going to try those tomatoes next year.

Our power has been off most of the afternoon - its back on now but flickering. We have trees down and the boats in the bay are looking a bit shifty - there's nothing blown onto the shore yet, though, so fingers crossed.

Its freezing here too - am back in woolly stockings.

...."and the costs involved in moving" instantly flashed straight into my mind. I dont think insurance companies cover the costs involved in moving after a break-in - they just expect you to stay put in the house/flat/etc that suffered a break-in <confused smilie>

Sorry this has happened to him. Is he upset? and will he be moving now? can he move if he decides to? (ie he only rents the place, so it would be easier to move).

Littlecal - sorry to hear about the watch. The scumbags dont realise the pain they cause.

Cerwiden - thanks for the offer but as I have never seen the book I am not sure what recipes I am after. I was shocked as I had it saved in my box and then when I finally went to order it bang, £25 notes please!!! I think not! Thanks for the offer though. Very thoughtful.

I am afraid that I cannot repeat what I think of people who drink and drive. Kill yourself by all means but innocent people, no. People like that have no thought for anyone else but themselves. Should be done for murder if they kill someone in my eyes as they knowingly get behind a wheel and drive a lethal weapon.

Thanks ceridwen, he's gutted, mainly because of Grandpa's watch, but he's on his work experience year,so is renting until the end of june(I think) and then he comes home,so I don't think that moving is going to be an option.I'm not sure what the two lads he shares with have lost, but it sounds like a sizeable haul.

    I'm so angry:mad::mad::mad:
