İ am in one of those ranting moods so forgive me before i start!!---its the wife again! Do you women treat your husband like a blank cheque when you decide you need more money!!???

İ will rewind a bit to saturday night--as you might know i ride a scooter in chaos traffic in a large turkish city. On saturday night i had too much to drink and my wife being in a mood with me let me get on my motorbike and ride home instead of insisting i go in the taxi with her---she said on sunday that i had a 50pc chance of killing myself and if i did she would be rich!!!--i kinda take things to heart like that!!
Now she expects me to pay all her expenses for our holiday when i have warned her all year to save. we earn the same amount from our business and i have bought the air tickets but she has known she had to pay the visas but now she is expecting me to!--and then she needs spending money etc etc --i feel i am being taken as a mug!!-rant over

You'd have been lucky to end up dead - rather than a killer. What an idiot, and blaming your wife for it is just pathetic!
People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

Water meter user here! It works out at £5 per person a month (I know this because we went from 5 to 4 people ;) ). Yorkshire water btw .
I remember having a fully equiped cooking classroom for home economics at school in the 80s but dont remember actually doing much cooking so it was pants really!
I am going shopping in the morning and havent done a stock up for a couple of weeks..after all the posts about prices shooting up its going to be interesting I am sure.
I gave up growing tomatoes after I lost all my crop last year due to blight and the year before..its just too cold and wet and its looking like we are set for the same again this year. Its been blowing a gale here today and raining..we had a hail storm yesterday and rain all day. I am beginning to notice how much the weather effects my mood too and am willing the sun to come out. Gray days are not good.
I am keeping my fingers crossed for those awaiting babys, moving house and planning weddings ....and hugs ...just because!

    Take care x

I do hope all our friends in Scotland are ok and are safe and warm away from the terrible weather.

I am tempted to rant myself with regards to reckless drunken drivers. we have had over 89,000 views on this thread from people looking for support, help, advice and sharing our good and bad days. Sadly at least one of them may have suffered at the hands of an idiot I do hope this doesnt put them off popping in to see us all. There are many things people are going through in their daily lives which are totally out of their control - somethings are your own choice. I do not wish to offend anyone just give my opinion.
My mother was killed by a drunk driver so I've deliberately not commented on de1amo's post because there's a good chance I may get banned for what I really want to say to him.

I think what annoyed me the most was the fact that he sees himself as the victim and blames his wife for not stopping him! How self pitying and self-centred can you get?

littlecal - I know exactly how you feel. My DS shares a flat with 4 other guys and he came back from abroad to find that they'd been burgled. His flatmates had cleaned the mess up and had even washed all his bed linen for him so everything was nice and clean, bless them, but all of them lost their laptops. The scum had even pulled all their clothes out of the wardrobes to check the pockets.

Thank you everyone for your support,it's been an expensive lesson for them to learn so young, but they'll get over it - it's a good job they're canny shoppers!!!!!!!!

Well DeLamo - I think the fact is you've blown it big time on MSE Old Style with your drinkdriving.

There are peeps on this thread with controversial views (some of which they dont realise ARE controversial - because there are a lot of peeps sharing that view - so they arent necessarily aware there are, equally, a lot with a totally different viewpoint - and that therefore means the subject is controversial).

However - by and large most peeps are aware when their viewpoint is controversial - even if its a common one.

But - on the subject of drinkdriving - I do have to say that I believe we would ALL be in agreement that we don't agree with people doing this. They are risking other peoples lives/health - and no-one has the right to do that.

I suspect that you won't find any further sympathy or support for anything else you say now on any topic.

So - do sit down and give some serious thought to the possible impact of your actions on other people.

Good luck Lindy-loo with your wedding.

Drink-driving - when I was in sixth form a boy killed his sister by driving whilst drunk. He survived, she didn't - how he has lived with that for the rest of his life I don't know. A tragedy all round.

Hugs to those whose babies are taking their merry old time waiting to arrive... and hugs to those who need them.

A quick pop in to register deep shock - I've just been paid for the last month. All of £210  I was expecting it to be nearer £400, but work didn't approve all my timesheets in time even though I submitted them before the deadline. Grrrrr. Luckily I am so careful with my money I will have enough to get me through the month, but it looks like I will be in overdraft for the first time whilst I wait the 7 or 8 weeks for JSA to get their backsides into gear to deal with the claim I'll need to put in. If they put me into overdraft I will be trying to claim back the charges!

Oh well. Worse things happen at sea.

Have a good day, everyone. I'm off to walk the dogs and it's cold this morning brrrr, although at least the wind seems to have dropped a little.

So very sorry to hear that you lost your dear mum due to a drink driver.....
My son was 12 yrs old and waiting outside for the school bus, he saw the bus coming so ran out from behind a car to grab his bag, in doing so he was hit by a car, he was thrown in the air and in the middle of all that he said,"mum I saw the top of the school bus"......we were all gobsmacked of how high he went up, on landing he went down on the windscreen of the car and smashed it...........he broke his leg and arm and several fingers......the driver of the car was one of his school teachers, the police arrived and smelt drink on her , she failed the test, was fined £250 and banned for a year, and that was 22 yrs ago.........yes we are very lucky that he is alive , as a result of the accident her marriage broke up, she lost her teaching job, and moved away...........is it ever worth drinking and driving it certaintly wrecks peoples lifes....

I'm not commenting regarding drink driving lest I be banned.

I'm a bit concerned about this volcanic ash though, since I'm due to fly to England next week. Quite worried about being stuck in another country part way. Especially since I've barely got enough money to buy a drink in the airport half way :rotfl:
