If formula was so bad for babys why do they make it??? at the end of the day its up to the individual and you should respect the fact they want to feed there baby formula.

Please don't make it sound like a mother formula feeding isn't doing the best for their baby! Every mother I'm sure wants the best for their children but some ppl dont or can't B/F. I have a friend who was phyiscally sick at the thought and another who just couldn't get the baby latched on to feed. It may be one of the most natural things in the world but it's not the easiest thing to do. However it doesn't mean they don't want the best for their children...woekitten wrote:It might not be best for some mothers, but it is best for every baby
This thread was started to inform ppl about the new healthy start scheme not critiscise how ppl bring up their children...Olympic bronze challenge-started 7/1/06-total so far is £194.300 -

Your baby might be on frmula and be fine. Doesnt mean it isnt true.
Smoking causes increased risk of lung cancer.
Im sure we all know someone who smokes 20 a day and doesnt get cancer? but I doubt yo will here anyone saying "if smoking was THAT BAD" they wouldnt sell them in the supermarket" or "lung cancer :rotfl: "
I find all of that very over the top.
Yes, the key words are 'over the top'
I can see you have mentioned you are a qualified health professional, & don't we all know it. Pushing your health opinions down everyones throats. It seems that it is ok for you to force your beliefs on breastfeeding upon us all, but as soon as someone else states their beliefs, you don't like it.
I am not a health professional, but like lot's of us have said, each to their own. Whatever works for the individual.
Fair enough, we all know the saying 'breast is (supposed to be) best' , but I think what a lot of us are trying to say is that, not everyone can or I'm very sorry -even WANTS to b/f.
And Astonsmum, I too hope a new or expectant mother doesn't come across this! Finally, Miss money, couldn't agree more if I tried with your last post.

Definetely. Let's all agree to disagree, everyones idea of 'perfect' is different. What a boring world it would be if we all thought the same. x
BTW good luck with the new arrival.
