Just been reading the preparing for winter thread and thought i would make some notes for things I should do before winter arrives.

    To Do:-
Buy some large rugs or cheap carpet to lay ontop of quarry tiles in the kitchen
    Make some draught excluders
Buy or make some door curtains
put up curtain on stairs between lounge and kitchen
[STRIKE]Buy hats, scarves and gloves for everyone (xmas pressies)[/STRIKE]:j
    [STRIKE]Buy new winter coat [/STRIKE]:j
    Buy some fleeces
Dressing gowns for everyone (usually xmas pressies)
    Slippers for everyone (xmas pressies)
    Dig out the wellies
Buy a torch and spare batteries
    Buy some candles
Clear out understairs cupboard so I can store my stashes
Buy the dog a coat! (xmas pressie)
[STRIKE]Slipper socks for everyone (xmas pressies)[/STRIKE]:j
Buy a clothes airer so I dont use the dryer as much

    Food wise, stock up on:-
    bread flour
    yeast
    oil
    margarine
braising steak for lots of stews
    stock up on oxo cubes
    lentils
    pasta
    rice
    veg
    milk
    cold and flu remedies
    stock up on tins
    stock up on toilet rolls
    stock up on washing powder
stock up on washing up liquid
    dishwasher tables

That will do for now, no doubt I will add too it

The £41 spent was taken out of what was left of my house keeping money and would of gone into my savings pot. My week starts on a Monday and I give myself £100 a week for food. I now have £8.91 left so this will be added to my savings pot as I dont need to buy anything today.

I also have £16 in my £2 savings pot

  • Scrap metal man has come and taken away the 3 rusty bikes and an old compressor. I know I should probably of gotten rid of them on freecycle but I wanted rid TODAY!

Sun is shining so will start off in the garden. Something has been in the rubbish bags so need to clean that up as it has been scattered around the entire garden!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. I then need to thin out some of the veggies in my raised bed and whilst the sun is shining I will hang out some washing. Weather forecast did say showers but theres not a cloud in the sky.
