If you are managing to save all that now how much could you save if you didn't smoke? Can you get on one of the dr's free schemes?

I dont think I would go on the free schemes and I dont understand why the patches are free if you go to the doctors to be honest. I smoke, I pay money for cigs so the way I see it is IF im really serious about quitting then I will buy the patches. The cost of the patches for a week are far less than what I spend on cigs so I think the money the NHS saves by me buying patches could go towards cancer drugs or something.

What a lovely approach, I've never even tried a cigarette so I have no idea about stopping.

Just popped out of lurkdom to say how inspired I am by your diary. Great attitude with regards to the smoking. My ex OH tried to give up smoking several times. The thing that helped in the end was that he wanted a new car. He priced up repayments and realised that he couldnt afford it UNLESS he gave up smoking. The repayments were actually less than what he was spending on ciggies. Is the £40.60 per week included in your £100 per week shopping budget or seperate? If it is included think how much more food and drink that you could buy.

    Hi LiT

I love your approach to it all too. I am sure you will do it when your ready. You have tackled everything else head on and look where you are now. Support here when you need it.

PS...room for a little one..well no so little :) chicken pie sounds scrummy. Where do you get all your energy from.

Have a good day tomorrow. Whoops it is tomorrow...today then :D

i gave up by not smoking in the house, when it got to winter it was bl00dy cold, and I smoked less and less, then did a few weeks of patches and that was it. Was weird for a while though. Didn't know what to do with my hands, so started knitting!

Another tip is when you want a cigarette, try and wait 5 minutes, that way you will cut down without noticing because you are spacing them out more.

I also made it a plan to not have my first one until 8am then 8.05 then 8.10am etc. Then I decided I wouldn't smoke at work, etc. In the end there wasn't really any part of the day where I could smoke LOL
I want a job that is less than an hour driving away from my house! Are you listening universe?

Ive set my quit date as Friday!!! I dont smoke in the house I smoke outside and I cant smoke at work as its a petrol station!!! So if I can go 7 hours at work without a cigarette then I CAN quit the ciggys.

Ive got loads to do to keep me busy. Ive got my parents coming to stay for a week to look after my dog whilst im on holiday so I need to blitz the house. (and by blitz I mean get rid of ALL the crap and clean every single room in the house thoroughly!)

Ive already made a start to day but Ive stolen a flylady list to work my way through then once its done its just a case of keeping on top of it.
