ROFCWL at that. I once spilt Horlicks all over mine and know of someone who split wine all over theirs and as they were drunk they just unplugged the keyboard and washed it in the sink :eek:0 -

I have successfully in the past literally washed a keyboard in the sink, the full Monte with brushes and washing up liquid followed by a really good rinse in clean water, I left it on a radiator to dry for two days and it was OK. I cannot condone this treatment but in my case it was in desperation and Mac keyboards used to be expensive. (Full cup of coffee in the gubbins of it)The quicker you fall behind, the longer you have to catch up...0

I lever all my keypads off with a spoon and put them in a pillowcase tied at the top and bung them in the washer. Then i hoover the board and wipe with a makeupwipe and click the keys back on.My keyboard gets minging as i eat and drink at the desk at least once per day.
i have a spare keyboard (another bargain from a jumble sale) so i know where to put the right buttons.0 -
Does anybody have any cheap tips for cleaning a laptop's keyboard (defo don't want to hold that under a tap!). I did have a tin of compressed air - very good, but at £8.99 it's not something I want to buy regularly. My cats like to get my attention by sitting on my laptop while I am using it - smart kitties, works a treat though it's entering moulting season and I need to get rid of their hairs from the lappy.0

I clean my computer stuff with a tissue and nail polish remover. It contains acetone which is excellent for cleaning elecrical things cos it doesn't leave a residue and evaporates quickly. I find a quick shake over the bin is a good idea for getting rid of crumbs out of the keyboard.2009 wins: Signed Saxon CD, Solar Torch, Drumsticks, Priest Feast Tix, Watch, Hammerfest tix :beer:0
