Lists, lists, my life is made up of lists - I have a master list in the kitchen where I write down the things to do for the next few days and cross off things as I do them. Sad, I know, but my head is so full of stuff I have to have a list so as not to omit something. If only life were simpler - but I suppose I would get bored.
Well, managed to plan out the meals for Easter weekend at last.
Breakfasts - combination of fruit, cereals, toast, croissants, eggs, bacon - different combination each day.
Lunches - Easter Sunday will be a roast lamb lunch with apple strudel and custard to follow (courtesy of Aldis because I cannot be arrised to make a hot pudding)
Other two lunches - home made root veg soup (done and in freezer already) with sourdough style bread and an assortment of antipasti (pate, olives, sundried tomatoes, bread, crisps, salad bits, pork pie etc etc) the other day.
Evening - Easter Sunday will be sandwiches, cakes (including home made choccy cake for Easter) and gallons of tea. Easter Monday will be bangers and mash with trifle for dessert. Saturday will be a 3 course spectacular - smoked salmon bruschettas to start, an Italian beef stew with vegetables for main course and lemon tiramisu after. Plus cheeses, amaretti and grapes with coffee and wine.
I think I have things planned so that a fair amount gets done beforehand so I can spend time with our guests. It might sound a bit of a faff but when people travel some distance to stay with you for a few days it's nice to push the boat out and give them a good time. Even if it means bread and jam for a day or so after until I get paid....One life - your life - live it!0 -
Lists are good.
I am lost without my lists.
Buffy~hope you had a nice night last night.

Morning
Not feeling too great today, bit dizzy, headachy and shaky so going to take it easy. Having said that there are always things that have to be done, so washing and ironing have been done so at least they are out of the way. I am now sitting in the garden and just chilling.

I'm so happy. My tumble dryer broke. Basically the catch on the door got stuck and I pulled it hard and it broke. I thought it was an easy fix so ordered a new catch (about £12 posted) but it didn't work as the bit it fits in wouldn't allow it (the part that costs £40 and looks hard to replace)
So we had a look at Tumblers today in the shop and I had a nosey at how the latch looks inside and figured out it's a switch inside.
10 mins after getting home I'd pulled the switch forward and it all works lovely again.:TI was so worried I'd have to get a new tumbler.
PS Now i feel like a lush for having a tumbler in the first place, lol0 -

Oh and Im planning on visiting Nargleblast for Easter - hmmmmm lots of yummy food.
My OH just fixed the bedroom window catch - which is very good as the bedroom is downstairs and didn't fancy not being able to shut it!
It's a great week for fixing things.

Hello Campervan, Hello kdenty, Hello tenmah.
I have no cupcakes and no chocolate  I wish I would sort these out BEFORE I realise I can do an NSD. Don't like an NSD without some sort of treat!
Had a look at my bank balance on Friday. Expecting things to be a lot tighter than they are. Looks like I still have about 6-8 weeks to get a job / before economic catastrophe.
Next door have been putting in fence posts so I asked if it would help if my shed was out of the way. Now have one dismantled shed, with half of it now at the tip...and a garden that looks a mess.....and a lovely yellow plant in bloom that is now quite flat. Hope to revive it but I think it has been trodden on a bit by fence fitters!
