    Morning All :hello:

:bdaycake: B-B Have a lovely day, and I agree it is better to get something you want.

Those books look good, and a few more too here

(((hugs))) to those who'd like one, and peaceful vibes for Noah, does he just like a day at home playing with his toys, or does he need to do things?

Been to B&Q to pick up some trunking for the switch changes DH is doing in the 'van, did it via Quidco, and just had to collect it, went to the Castleford one, as it is so easy just down the M62. Couldn't persuade DH to go into the Retail Centre on a Saturday, but we will be going back on Wednesday when it is pensioners day for a few more bits from B&Q (couldn't wait for these) and I have said we ARE going then ;)

I am just recovering the dining chairs in the conservatory with a nice bright terracotta checked fabric, the old covers were cream, and showed every mark. They are a few years old now, but want them looking nice for my birthday bbq in August :o I think I will manage to make 4 matching cushion covers out of the rest. Biggest task is getting all the staples from the old covers. One done, material cut out for the other 5, and will just iron those now, and do them one at a time.

Will also tackle the ironing from yesterday's wash. :A

DS & GF are moving into a flat together today, and it has been manic for him this week, but a card has arrived in the post so that was all I needed. We are going down to London next weekend to take loads of stuff for them, and have our belated Mothers Day then.

    Take care all - DG

    Afternoon All

Happy Birthday Butterfly Brain, hope it's a good one!

Got up to let out the hens and feed them and then went back to bed for an hour or so, feeling a little sorry for myself as I should be on my way to Oz right now. Still, I am enjoying DDs company (when she's here, she went over to Edinburgh yesterday afternoon to see DS2 and hasn't come back yet!)Oh, she has just returned!

3 loads of washing on the line, cleaned 2 bathrooms and given the kitchen a good S&S. DS1 has still got the hoover so I can't do that, hopefully it will come back tomorrow. The weather has cheered up and is quite nice and sunny but fairly windy, hope the quilt cover stays on the line!

Hope you are all having a good Saturday, take care. XX

Lots of cleaning done inside, but I want to be in the garden. If nothing else I must clean the hens out in case it does indeed pour down tomorrow.

The apple rings should be done soon, and I made little teaspoon sized meringues ready for dipping in chocolate and then sandwiching with whipped cream. I need to think of something to do with four lemons, although I may use one on the chicken I am roasting for Dinner. Lemon meringue ice cream of some sort springs to mind. I had both volumes of Nigel Slaters Tender with some birthday money so I might see what he suggests. Makes me hungry reading his books though.

Thanks for the birthday wishes for DS1 - he has been building lego since 7am :rotfl:

Butterfly, which Kenwood bits did you get? My mum had the cream making attachment which was great but they don't seem to make it anymore. I really want the ice cream making one when I have some spare cash.

Bargainbird, how old are your babies? I have 4 warrens who are one, and 2 copper marans who are 3. I would love to do the whole broody hen thing but not sure how I would cope with the boys.

    just back from work!

    Mrs_Mix - thankyou:)

NPM - fingers crossed for the melatonin!not sure how long it takes to kick in but hopefully not long x

JackieO - hope you have a lovely holiday up in my neck of the woods - you've certainly brought the sun with you today! x

havent read the thread yet but will soon.

DH just been and got a new garden parasol and stand - Purple(Diva would have liked it:))

DS2 just come back from work with 2 huge bunches of flowers for me for tomorrow:j:T had a big hug and kiss. Am really pleased as he forgot last year. Ilove flowers.
Wont hold out too much hope for anything from DS1 - he's working tonight till 4am over in Worcester so will be in bed half of tomorrow and I'm working at 2pm. He's been t the docs this morning and has a chest infection.

Taplord however has made a great recovery after spending most of yesterday in bed. He also accidentally took 2 days worth of his tablets - heart tablets and painkillers but had no ill effects and was like a young puppy this morning instead of the usual tired old dog:rotfl::D

Just off up the garden for a cupp ain the sunshine on our Jack and Jill seat under our new parasol:)

Stir fry and noodles for tea - quorn for me and prawns for the chaps.

have a great evening all x
