Lol at the SJP site. I do really like her but she's just that wee bit scrawny. At least no one can say that about me!!!!

I LOVED the book but think I might get the rage at the film, big style. There was a fab Grazia article this week entitled 'I dont know why she does it' (as Rosa said). X

I really like SJP too - think she has lovely style and I don't care if men don't find her attractive, I think she looks fab!

And I have to honest, I hate that whole 'looks like a horse' - well done love, you've managed to keep super thin (but of course being super thin and no boob job = not sexy), you've been in one of the most successful TV shows of recent times, exective producer etc but really you're not quite attractive enough to make the cut. In fact you are so hideous we need to make a whole website taking the mickey.

Thank goodness I am in no way in the public eye. I dread to think what kind of website they would make about me!!!:eek: What kind of animal does Makeup look like.....:eek::eek:

    Rant over!!

I did think the film seemed a bit odd in a way but didn't realise it had been a successful book beforehand and I've not read it.

SJP was quite interesting in the interviews she's done. And was honest about how having a nanny etc enables her to balance her work and home life and how she knows this is lucky - and she is in a position to pick and choose work that fits in with her life rather than the other way round.

In Cornwall this weekend for my cousins wedding. Had rather too good a time today and now feeling the effects....

Went paddling earlier, way too rough for me to go swimming and tomorrow am visiting Tintagel on the way home and looking forward to that.

On MSE news, had a really bizarre letter from the Student Loans people, I'm in my final 6 months of paying it off (:j:j) and so they've decided to change my DD for my last 6 repayments to 5 x £26 and 1 x £626???? Not entirely sure who feels this is the best way of managing my repayments but I need to remember, during their opening hours, to ring up and sort this out as I know for sure I'll forget and then be horribly overdrawn in February if I don't!!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)
  • Can't think of a curly enough animal for the Rosa Looks Like site. Possibly one of these?

I didn't realise she was also exec producer - much more impressed by that than any of the rest.

Makeup I don't know why they do that with loans, my car loan is about to do the same thing... why the **** didn't they just make it an extra £10 a month over the 4 years instead of confusing me??!

yay to no housework on Sundays...I have no comment on the SJP book or film as havent read or seen either nor ever paid much attention to what she does.Balancing work/home/chilcare is certainly one of the harder jobs in life especially for single parents,,so all credit to anyone that manages it,

Rosa - loving the sheep, sooo cute.

Lula - I believe you were somewhat irritated in the Guardian this week and my friend posted an article from there today which was a kind of review of the film but more like a complete hit list of why women are so greedy and grasping in wanting to have both a job and children!!! So don't head onto there anytime soon.... I normally love that paper (as you probably would have guessed from my blatant bleeding heart liberal tendencies) but I don't know what is going on!!!

    Hey guys,

love reading all the discussion here & Rosa - I love those rasta sheep :D.

Z you are a big meanie ... although I reckons she looks absolutely beautiful in a couple of those pics. As stated previously, no problem with SJP herself just the review of the film got me irked.

So, had a lovely day with both my DDs yesterday, although there was a huge amount of food consumed. DD1 arrived bearing orange juice, bacon & the largest rolls I've ever seen. Seriously, they were the size of cow pats.

We set off out to go for lunch but were defeated by swarms of cyclists blocking the roads - riding 4 abreast whilst wobbling & veering all over the road is not cool guys :(. Not sure what it was all about but in the end DD suggested we just head back here & have a roast & lounge about.

So that's exactly what we did, although I had to stop off at shop on the way to buy all the food which was about £20 ( paid for from my pocket money rather than groceries as it was for a one off meal)We cooked up a feast, little DD made a cake & I finished off the last bottle of delish rose that I'd started on friday night ;).

I didn't sleep well last night due to over eating & considered skiving today as I felt so rough. Somehow summoned the energy to go to work & was rewarded by no Goblin, no Gropey & even Grumpy went out about 11.30 so I just mooched about for the rest of the day feeling very snarly & petulant.

Came home & waded through heaps of home-job work then at 7 I put my trainers on, DD jumped on her bike & we went for a 20 minute march / ride. I do like all the different smells that are out there in the evening & actually felt a lot by the time we got home.

I did a half hour yoga session & now feel nicely relaxed too.

I've had NSD number 9 & also paid another £100 to the CC leaving a balance of just £500 now.

Very tired so heading for lights out now, will report in again soon with updates.

    Bye for now
    xx

Sounds like you had a nice time with DDs and that you got off lightly at work today
