That *is* a mega cleaning stock up! As I've mentioned on my thread, I love the idea of stocking up, especially over winter - with all the lurgies around, if I choose to go out and come into contact with something, so be it, but I hate the idea of getting sick from something so avoidable as going to the supermarket for long lasting stuff (the last two winters are preying on my mind, can you tell).

Anyway, thats my stuff, not yours. Hope the shopping trip for DD goes well today, and I'm glad I couldn't hear an anguished howl - seems her bedroom was sorted pretty quickly in the end :)

Wondered if this would make you feel better about camping?

    :T Fantastic !

Sadly though, after today's immense spendathon even a camper-shaped tent is out of my reach :(.

We were in town by 9.15 & the spends flowed freely from then on. We gave £35 to clarks in return for a new pair of shoes for DD. She's happy with them, I'm happy so all good :)

We then went to tk maxx & found some new trainers for DD & an amazing pair of mary jane style Poetic Licence shoes for me. She made me buy them - grey uppers with red trim round the edges, red heels & the bar across the foot that fastens with a red ribbon & purple & silver soles. They are awesome :heartpuls. So, total spend in there was £37.98.

Next was rymans stationery shop where we stocked up on all manner of necessary items such as pens, cartridges, rubbers etc that totalled £20.45p.

A quick fuel stop to take on juice & sausage rolls then back into the fray with a trot round the ever hot & stuffy primarni. We escaped with 6 pairs of tights for DD, 6 items of undies for DD, 2 pairs of slippers ( one pair each) a pair of leggings & a pair of new trackie pants for me. Total amount left in return was £32.90. A quick visit to miss selfridge meant leaving £2 in there in return for a couple of giant bead necklaces. I liked the colours & may well deconstruct & reassemble as something decorative for the living room :D

DD begged me to go in to waterstones & I'd only just walked in the door when hailed by distinguished bearded man. He pressed a book into my hand while asking if I read novels. I agreed that I did & he suggested I take a look at this book & then he could sign it for me, as he was the author. I felt a bit sorry that he was having to drum up his own trade, and I'm slightly ashamed to say that I'd never heard of him :o. On the other hand, I wasn't planning on buying any books but DD found one she liked so I did end up buying them both. That was another £15.98 unplanned spending. His book had better be good.

Parking was £3.30 & we then headed home exhausted & only just capable of drinking tea & eating party rings & chocolate fingers. It's been raining on & off all afternoon so I'm glad I opted not to hang the washing out. DD has been wearing her new school uniform & shoes & trying out her new stationery. Whilst tidying she found some forgotten holiday money in one of her many purses & kindly offered me the money back for her book as it wasn't really a school necessity, so I accepted :p.

All spends over £10 were on the CC & it was truly battered to the tune of £142 . I've already transferred the cash from my current account to pay it, but what with yesterday's waitrose assault, I am still £60 over what it was. New balance = £560

I now have about £6 in my current acct until payday & £32 in cash in my purse. That's going to have to do for all spends this week, including groceries.

DD1 is off on holiday next week & with her birthday soon after, she's decided that she'd like me to give her some euros for spending money rather than have any gifts. I have enough in the presents fund to cover this & also buy something fab for nieces 18th. DDs birthday is just 2 weeks after DD1s but that's covered by the laptop so all sorted. I have no other birthday's to buy for until November so plenty of time to replenish the fund :)

It's quite pleasing when a plan comes together & if I could just shed a stone in weight & some inches all over, clear the CC, decorate DDs room & the hall & get £1,000 in to the Escape From Reality fund by the end of the year, I'd be very pleased :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:.

    Time for the Doctor now
    xx

I'd reply, but you've worn me out. Have a lovely evening in front of the TV. I trust you have a glass (or three) of wine to keep you mellow.

That's the nicest looking tent ever :)

Really nice of you to buy that guys book, I like supporting people like him who are making an effort. It's why I keep ordering things I don't really need from the Avon lady. Hope you enjoy the book :)

    M o r r r n i n g :D

I exhausted myself yesterday & couldn't even manage to open a bottle. I am already lost with the plot of Doctor Who.

I have loaded the washing machine & have another 2 loads to do after this one. Weather seems bright & sunny today so the plan is to get laundry outside, plant out the rest of the bulbs & maybe cut the grass before the next deluge.

I've been sat here plotting my CC repayment budget for the next few weeks & all is well because it seems I'm still on track - mainly thanks to a couple of child benefit payments :o.

I'm very excited about DD having school lunches in a 'clearly needs to get out more' kinda way. DD1 would hardly ever eat school food so I've been making packed lunches for about 100 years now & am so so so bored with it. ( I think maybe I'm hanging way too much expectation on this small thing changing my life in some HUGE way, but until I can raise enough cash for this then small pockets of pleasure is all I have :rotfl:
    .

It will take me a while, I doubt that I'll manage to save more than £200 a month once the CCCCC is cleared ... but it's something to aim for :D.

Other than laundry & ironing, I really can't be @rsed to do any indoor chores today so I'm adopting Karmas alternate week plan & focusing on the outdoors because that's where I'd rather be.

Must go & confess all my spends on the Clothes Challenge & work out how to encourage others when I'm such a bad example. Might just need a new plan there too.

    Bye for now
    xx

Totally understand the school dinners thing. One of my pet peeves is making sandwiches. I know it is easy, I just HATE it! Just the thought of it brings me into a cold sweat. As me and OH both work full time, usually dd is not home until 615pm, which is too late to make a hot dinner. Knowing she has had a hot decent meal at lunchtime means we can offer her something simpler at lunchtime. Should be guilt free, but DD has other ideas and keeps begging for packed lunches. Which I refuse to do. Bad bad mum :o!

Did you get red with the free shower gel? Having used it a few times, I cannot believe anyone would pay £9.80 for it. It smells nice, but is so watery and doesn't go very far at all. Used half of it in 4 showers. That works out over a £1 a shower!

Your ideal campsite sounds a lot like the one I just went to. It was immaculate, the toilets were cleaner than the hilton (as the owner proudly stated, and I couldn't find any evidence to the contrary). Great views, grass which felt like carpet, and lots of space to yourself. It is in the Llyn peninsular in wales.

That houseboat looks amazing, you're right, we all do need a dream.

Welcome back museumworker, will head over to yours in a bit & check out your latest news :D.

Your campsite sounds excellent, it really does make such a difference when facilities are clean. Yes, I did get the red with shower gel. I've never bought that mag before & I'ms so used to handbag sized ones it seemed huge! I've not tried the shower gel yet, I'd never pay that price for any shower gel, outrageous. I'd rather splash out on nice moisturiser. I did like the cocoa butter sample tho, might check that out in future - once I've worked my way through the 4 tubs of Body Shop butter.

Yep, I admit that potentially simple suppers are part of my enthusiasm for school lunches ;)

Must go empty machine now, bye
