'Queen of the night ' is one of my favorite tulips too.
It's good news that the campervan dream might get resurected.0 -
:j:j:j When you go for it, you really go for it! What a fantastic day you had - I love the sound of everything you did in the garden.

Morning all,
didn't get to post last night, had a horrible load of home-job to do & was only fit for a bit of tidying & bed aftyerwards.
I seem to be on some kind of weird determination trip at the moment; I cleared away all the paperwork that has been sat on the dining table for ages. I filed everything away & then sorted through all my emails too.
I was a bit confused as to the balance of the CCCCC as online banking will give the balance which doesn't correspond with the amount available to spend & it takes an extra day for any transactions to appear. I'm using for most transactions over £10 as I'm still earning cashback - another £2.50 this month which will be returned as co op vouchers
No payments due out of the bank this week so ... another payment to the CCCCC bringing the balance dowbn to £500& another 10 weeks to go.
Yesterday was a NSD but I've not yet updated my records in the Big Pink Book not sure how many I've got.
At work in the office with the Goblin, Grumpy & the dog. Rain is relentless & very boring.
Souk - Welcome back lovely, hope you had a fabby time & indeed we can talk - I'm intrigued
Gotta run now, will catch up with all other news & diaries later

wow you've not got a lot left to pay off now..it'll soon be gone and campervan sounds exciting0

Here I am again but no NSD today.
DD has eaten me out of my secret apples supply & I also needed to get some supplies for her end of playscheme party on Friday. So, thinking ahead I thought I could do all that today after work & then hopefully score another 2 x NSDs tomorrow & Thursday.
Shot to the co op & was delighted to discover that the very items DD had volunteered for us to bring ( Party rings & Chocolate Fingers) were on a bogof :j. I grabbed 10 packs in total as there will be 30 kidlets ( will keep a pack of each for home) & saved over £9 due to the deal . I also bought a loaf of bread so have another £3.42 to the Grocery & Household bill.
( have a scary feeling that is what Souk is going to tell me off about :rotfl:).
We arrived home & on entering the bathroom I noticed that the shiny new light looked a bit wrong. In fact, it looked as though the cover was full of brown water . A bit of investigation ( poking with a screwdriver) revealed that it was in fact full of brown water so at this point I though it might be wise to turn it off.
Clearly, the roofer has not been around yet to replace the lost tiles & with a fresh downpour, its all leaking through the roof again .
Called maintenance department & had to go through the whole rigmarole of their not having a record of my original call again. Nice lady said she'd get electrician round to replace the light, again. I (patiently) explained that there really wasn't much point until the roof had been repaired.
I now retract my original praise for their speed & efficiency.
No other news really, Goblin having to be pleasant with Grumpy in the office. I do think she vents all her rage on me because she cant really kick off at the guys - they'd just stare at her like she was a nutjob - & she secretly wishes she could be as F Fabulous as me :rotfl:.
I need to exercise more & eat less.
Not going to do any form of diets other than just cutting out the carp & increasing the movement.
Off for a wander round the diaries before heading for bed.
G'night
xx
ETA - Taxi beat me to it !0 -

Goblin does not seem a happy soul to say the least... This moving more and eating less carp is all very well but do you not find, honestly, as you get older you have to move a helluva lot more to shift the tiniest amount of weight, and eat the slightest bit more for it to show, especially around the stomach, hip area....
Drives me mad...

Hello all,
oh yes indeed bast, whereas once I could eat whatever I liked & not seem to suffer any great gain ... now it's a constant battle. I believe that if I could overcome my inertia, ingest some determination along with the chocolate & just get to my target size & weight, then I'd be happy to simply maintain it.
The problem is that I'm short of time & energy the first three days of the week & then for the other 4 I feel that having worked so hard for the previous 3, that I deserve a rest from dieting & exercising :rotfl:.
Ah well, I need to create a weekly schedule for many of my tasks &
it might help to put exercise on that schedule as well.
We're still without a bathroom light, but I have high hopes of having a new one tomorrow. The roofer visited today & there's a shiny new tile where the gap used to be.
It's funny how when all this first occurred I was feeling quite grumpy & a bit frantic about having my usual facilites restored ASAP. After a couple of days it ceased to worry me & I realised just how cosseted our lives are. We have so many conveniences & gadgets that simply living ( gathering food, creating meals, having warm, clean homes with facilities etc ) takes barely any time at all so that we are left with huge gaps in our existence that we then seek to fill in other ways.
When living an alternative way, whether it be aboard a boat, in a van, a tent or a 3rd world country, much of the day is taken up with 'simply living'; fetching or disposing of water, journeying to find food or growing it etc, to the extent that having time to waste on browsing online shops, real life shops or being bombarded by media about what 'everyone else' has, just doesn't exist.
Hence my love/hate relationship with camping. I love the simplicity of just sweeping out the tent, cooking meals on a fire & then sharing a water supply for just what is needed to clean up for each task. On the other hand, I HATE having to share that same water supply when it comes to my personal hygiene. I like privacy, relaxation, indulgence & no one else's grime contaminating my environment.
Enough of the ponderings.
Work was fun today, I had little of my own tasks to do so ended up helping out in the production area which is always relaxing & yet satisfying as I get to see the results of my efforts.
Yesterday was a NSD but today was not. I was compelled to go to the garden centre near where DD is at playscheme & came away with another 2 little herbs for £3.98p. I collected DD & we remembered that we'd forgotten to get a gift for the leaders so bought some choccies for £5.40p. I received 2 x £2 coins in my change so that was quite pleasing.
It's party day for DD tomorrow as the last day & I need to do a bit of shopping so plan to go to Waitrose for a change. Mainly because I have stuff to take to the charity shop & can park for free at waitrose if I buy a few bits.
I probably wont be making a substantial payment to the debt for a while as we need to go shopping for the rest of DDs school stuff this weekend - shoes, trainers, socks, bags & stationery. I also have to pay lovely childminder next week, then the following week it's the beginning of term so need to pay the school fund, lunch money & then GG subs.
Keen though I am to completely clear the CCCCC asap, I've learned from my previous expericence & feel it's better to glide in to debt freedom smoothly & sustain it, rather than to hurl myself at the finish line, only to be thrown back across it to debtsville a short time later.
Yes, I am aware that I keep repeating this; I'm trying to convince myself that this IS the best way forward.
My energy levels are low at the moment, so I'm heading off to bed now, will report spends tomorrow.
Bye for now
