    Back again,

I'm all over this thread like a cheap coat :rotfl:

Hello Rosa Bernicia & thanks for the polka-dot congrats :A Hope all is good with you ?

Hello Swinstie, thanks for the good wishes & great to hear that you're nearly there too :j

Hello LittleBoots, thanks for popping by & brilliant that you can get your oats ( sounds wrong somehow ;)) in the pound shop :D

I did my W shop & came out with all my fresh produce for the week & minus £27.21. I have to stick to that weekly budget of £30.66 per week for the next 4 weeks, so I now have just £3.45 left to spend until next Friday. It's a bit fierce, but I know I can do it as will only need to buy milk & maybe some bread for DD.

The trip to the Garden Centre was equally satisfying & a lot less spendy. I got loads of bargains eg : a pair of gloves for 75p, 2 small herb plants for 75p, a pack of salad leaves seeds for 75p & a box of miracle grow for 75p :j. I forgot to pick up the trowel & fork for 75p each but can pop in there on my way home from work. It's a lovely little garden centre full of plants, seeds & tools rather than , ceramics & overpriced jelly moulds :p.

I also bought some carrot seeds, leek seeds, parsnip seeds & rocket seeds. I'm stunned at just how many seeds there are in some of the packets. I saw some pea plants which were quite tempting but didnt want to spend all my pounds in one go. Total spend in there was £13.76p..

I know it's only day 2 but I love, love, love this DF life :D. I still get to play around with budgets & do some juggling which I kinda enjoy as it's fun, but it's my game now & I make the rules.

DD & friends had a great time dancing & I'm just mooching about on the torture rack watching tv, will head off to bed with lappie & lovefilm dvd soon & then tomorrow, we sow

Fantastic to hear it - it's that freedom thing again innit, coupled with more control over your own life, which always reduces how stressful life is, I find :)

  • Well done Lula on debt freeness- i am sure you will come up with a cunning plan or three. :) x
Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:

That was the 'special offer' price - saved about £12 though :)

Innit ???? Boy, you bin in town for like a week & you is already talking like you is proper london :D

Dan, you've hit the nail on the head; that is exactly how I feel about it; relaxed, liberated & yet in control. It's great because I can still employ all the tricks, tips & lessons I've learned on here & now use them for my own benefit.

Hope life is treating you well now that you are no longer stretching yourself down the M4 & back.

    Thanks bob :A

    I'm already plotting ;)

Actually boys & girls, it's true  I have been vegetable plotting today :rotfl:

Lovely DDs gave me cheeky cards & lovely gifts, including a bear that you can record short messages on. At the moment it has DD saying that she loves me, but I can forsee that might change st some point.

DD1 had to go to work but popped in for a few hours & was most excited at her gift which was hilarious - a sweet little white teapot which I have wanted for some time; but it has a bright pink teacosy with sequins & ribbons on it :rotfl: There were also some gerberas which I love & a box of chocs which DD has been 'helping' me with

I've done a bit of laundry but other than that just pottered about in the garden & have emptied all the twigs from the pots at the front of the house & potted up the tarragon & chives that we bought yesterday. Much as I love the idea of a proper herb garden, I'll probably make use of the herbs far more if they're just outside the front door rather than along the path in the garden. Ideally I'd like a raised bed with different levels that is against the side of the house but that will have to wait a while until I'm either wealthy or find something to make it out of.

We've sowed the leek seeds in pots & I'm a bit scared that we're late but will just hope for the best. They're on the living room windowsill as that has sun for most of the day. We were going to sow the carrot & parsnip seeds, but I realised that I hadnt really dug the bed over very well & it's still full of stones. I think my garden used to be a beach.

I spent a couple of hours raking & sifting & seem to remember that I need to plant rooty veg on a waning moon & we're still waxing at the moment so plenty of time to get the soil fine.

DD is making a meal for us & I'm intending on having an early night tonight in preparation for whatever challenges I have to face tomorrow :undecided. I know what I'm going to wear - dress & boots ;) but need to pack my protective bubble with all the necessary goodies :).

Mmmm my supper is ready, back soon
    xx

    Thanks girls :D,

I've cleaned the kitchen which always sets me up for a monday morning. Sad but true :o, I washed all cupboard doors & handles, counter tops & tiles & all things on counter tops such as kettle, containers etc & the toaster, which has now decided to work again ... seems the problem may well have been a renegade sultana from last weeks peshwari naan. I dont know who decided to reheat it by putting it in the toaster

I gave the floor a wash too & de-limescaled the sink, taps & draining board - I love my ecover anti limescale foamy stuff - it's brilliant :).

I then re-started my health campaign with a yoga session. It was interrupted by a call from DD with good news on finally ( 3 years) getting a referral for her weird heart circuitry. She's so excited & then we were reminiscing about all her other hospital visits & poor Barbara was paused upside down for about half an hour :rotfl:.

I've had to cut my nails short as gardening is not kind to them ... on the plus side it does mean that if I have to clench my fists in suppressed rage, I wont gouge chunks out of my palms.

Will probably take a bit of Peter Tosh in the bubble - cannot be rageful after listening to him  & by the way, if you havent come across Rastamouse yet, go hunt ... it's brilliant :D

    G'night
    xx
