Hello & thank you SS,
I'm a bit giddy tonight - after all those carb free days I've been scoffing biccies & cake all day so my sugar levels are sky high & I'm rushing :rotfl:
Books are like boats. Hang on, stay with me ...
In that they are a dream of mine but deep down I know that I dont have the tenacity to make it happen. I'm a bit flitty & as well as my underactive ambition gland I also have the boredom threshold of a limbo dancer.
I lack focus & quite possibly, the necessary talent too :rotfl:
I think that grammar is a school for academically focussed children & as for punctuation well ... I had one of those on my bike recently
I toyed with the idea of a blog, but I'd want it to be all arty & pretty looking & I still cant even get my phone & the mac to talk to eachother.
Besides, what on earth would I write about in a book or blog ??? It's all very well rambling on here & throwing in the odd £ sign or reference to a survey reward for relevance ... but I'd be lost out there in the big wide world :rotfl:0 -

yay! On debt free ness :j:j:j
and :rotfl: to Frugabulous, clearly you have a more interesting dictionary than mine!
With you mr tatco shop, you can use the online price checker to see if anything was cheaper elsewhere - they will then send you a voucher for double the difference.
Haven't had any waitrose offers of free bics/puddings for quite some time, have you?Mortgage [STRIKE]16/03/2011: £190K 01/01/2017: £107,729.65 [/STRIKE] 01/07/2017: £95,979.89

Morning all
The mania & hyper ness of recent events have now worn off thankfully & I have a fairly normal weekend ahead of me.
I've only lost 1lb - but considering the amount of sugar coated junk I hoovered up yesterday that's a mini miracle in itself.
DD1 has texted to say that she 'wants' to come over tomorrow as she has a fab pressie for me. I'm very curious as she said it's something I've requested in the past  I'm guessing it's not Johnny, Brandon or a camper van. Actually, out of those 3 I think I'd rather have the van :rotfl:
So, I've had my oatbran porridge which is lowering my cholesterol as I type, & also fills my tummy up so that I dont start throwing snacks & biccies down my throat when my sugar levels drop.
I have a bunch of rather depressed looking veggies in the fridge so will be chopping them up & hurling them in the slow cooker to make soup & also need to do a leek & potato soup for DD. I do rather need to do a waitrose shop today for some pasta, veggies & meat. I know I did Tatco yesterday, but I just prefer the fresh stuff at W.
There's a load of washing about to finish & then go out on the line & another 2 to do. As Souk isnt on line at the moment to shame me, I can admit then when line dried on a breezy day, I iron about half the usual amount - no jamas or t shirts :shhh: dont tell.
DD is off to the teen club night tonight & having escaped doing any lifts at all for the last 2 times, I have offered to do taking & collecting. The other 2 friends she goes with live next door to eachother so it's no hassle at all. I still havent told her about the tickets ... she's done really well in her pre-SATs tests though; 5a for literacy & 5b for maths - she attended a booster group for maths so it obviously had the desired effect. Whether she manages those levels in the actual SATs remains to be seen, but I really dont think they provide any benefit for the child & certainly not for the teachers, so have told her not to worry too much. I dont want her peaking now & then being bored of achieving by the time GCSEs come around
Right, time to get on & do stuff, I feel the urge to get outside & do some gardeny stuff - I just dont have any spare cash to buy seeds though, might have to find some as over on the greenfingered board they keep talking about it being nearly too late for seed planting
This is the link to that fabby accessories exhibition I mentioned previously :

It should be interesting, I want to join up as a 'friend' so can attend special evenings with free wine & arty people - am such a ligger :rotfl:
DD is off to the library to get her ticket for club night & then on to shops to buy something for me- am not allowed to go with her & I have advised against anything with 'Mothers Day' printed on it as it will just be rip off. I like home made cards from my girls - they're always really funny
Have a nice day0 -
Hi Museumworker & thanks,
Frugabulous is my new word - I think you know which 2 it combines
No, not had any freebies for ages, I think all resources are going in to getting new online shopping set up. Didnt know that about the Tatco price difference; I'm just grateful when they actually get all the discounts & bogofs right - I think this was the first time.
Will be over to yours later to check on your doings, hope the migraines are subsiding,
xx0 -
2 loads of laundry out on the line & ....
Connie & Victoria are now starting to blossomI'm so pleased & relieved that they survived the move & appear to be flourishing. There are some healthy looking strawberry plants in the bed & the blackcurrant bush is small but happy.
Leek & potato soup is all done & smells fab - DD has tested it & declared it delicious. The depressed vegetables soup is doing it's thing in the slow cooker & will I'm sure be edible. I'm going to buy a baguette as a naughty treat to accompany soup tonight. Had an omelette for lunch with some chopped tomaotes & basil & a sprinkling of parmesan on it. Very tasty mmmmmm.
I am such a donut - completely forgot about the garden centre vouchers in my purse so have decided that a few gardeny bits will be my celebration of debt freeness so heading off there in a bit once I've checked bank account to ensure I do have a bit to spend.
Not sure whether to withdraw the £30 grocery allowance in cash, or continue to use debit card :undecided.
I've had an email to say I've been accepted for new CC - subject to a few formalities. I'd better get it, the amount of cash that's flowed through my account there in the last few months is phenomenal as I had to get ISA cash put in there in order to make the payment to Uncle Richard & also to open up the thing in the first place.
If I'm going to be using a CC for usual monthly expenses, then it might be best to stick to using card & withdraw a small amount of cash each week for other bits.
Decisions, decisions - am rubbish at them.0 -
huuuugge, fabulous, polka-dotted congrats Lula - and thank you from me as well for all the inspiration.I silently slid away like a money saving ninja angel only to reappear in the squash aisle... My mission to free the yellow-sticker brainwashed minds of the Tatco disciples will continue ...
:rotfl: love it. Now every time I think of overspending, in the corner of my eye there will be a woman in an MSE cape and pink Converse shaking her head and pointing to a VW camper van. Truly you are our superhero :heart2::A:DI toyed with the idea of a blog, but I'd want it to be all arty & pretty looking & I still cant even get my phone & the mac to talk to eachother.
Have a lovely DF Day 2
