Hiya! I can't believe you managed to go for that bike ride, thats brilliant! Especially when it was spontaneous on DD's part :rotfl: *and* it was a day of such downpours
Loving the Wolfhound and the being forbidden to parp the hooter :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Ahoy me hearties :hello:
it's sunday night, I've done the absolute minimum of choreseration; which is just laundry, ironing, vacuuming & washing up.
I dont actually care as we've been busy doing other stuff & will be busy all week too so I'll catch up on friday
We've been out on the spend today; DD has been having another growth spurt & is in danger of having ankle basher jeans & garrotted circulation so we went into town & got her a few new bits. We now have everything for her school trip as well. She's been wearing her rucksack & making check lists all evening in spite of having another week to go.
I spent £64.39 on her stuff & was assaulted by a fab little dress myself. It had some beads hanging off so I asked if an extra discount was available & was rewarded with another 10% menaing I paid £19.80 for a dress that was originally £38. I registered my card with Quidco so should still qualify for a small amount of cashback
I'm clearly very rubbish at not buying clothes & am already hatching a completely crazy plan to limit myself to a mere £100 for everything for the whole of next year.
She is very excited. I think the anticipation & tension will increase dramatically during the next few days - not sure I'll be able to remain teetotall :rotfl:
I'm very excited about Hard Rock Calling on friday & sorry guys - but I've made a deal with the weather Goddess; I will accept whatever weather we have this week, as long as it's dry on friday.
I've been waking up in the middle of the night having guilt pangs about potentially dragging my daughter around londinium at night in the cold & rain.
I'm almost looking forward to work next week - Gropey is on hol & I guarantee everyone will be cheery.
Off to bed now so will report in again soon,
G'night

I think we can accept the deal you've made with the weather Goddess
its only right, when you have a comparatively teeny daughter. Tho I'm sure *she* won't care about the weather
And you and dresses! No wonder you're so fabulous2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hiya Skinty - nice to hear from you again
I hope all is well with you, DS & your romance ? Glad that you found yourself some of that luscious cider, I found myself some too - although in rather larger quantities ... I have 4 crates of 8 on order :rotfl:
Not all for me though, Highly Annoying & I have started up a booze club & I am the president. Grumpy caught me placing the order & called me a sad old lush, how rude, but he was just playing.
Karma - thanks for your consent although I'm not sure that DD would be too happy at being called weeny. She's a full on pre teen these days & only about 3 inches shorter than me
So far, all the forecasts are saying it could well be dry on friday so everything crossed please boys & girls. Had a text from my sis who was heading off to Glasto today, she was feeling a bit sad about not being at the gig with me & I feel sad too as she gifted me the last 2 gigs & I really wanted to return the gift. Have decided to buy her some fab merchandise there to help make up for it.
Work is fine this week, largely due to Gropey being absent & my being very busy. I'm trying to be very proactive & positive & keep the guys all optimistic too. Design Dude said he admires my enthusiasm but thinks I'm desperately swimming against the tide :rotfl:.
I've been deliberating about the job close to home I found & have decided not to apply. It is based in a nursing/retirement home & whatever the other benefits I've decided that it's not for me. If I was someone with a hectic social life I could probably cope but to spend all day with elderly & infirm folks would be depressing enough ( I am far too emotional) but to then spend the evenings alone would be not much better for my mental health than when I was working at home.
As much as I want to amputate people's body parts when at current job, it's lively, different every day & I get to chat to lots of lovely men - both colleagues & clients :j
Home-job driver has informed that she's off on one of her girly hols with mates so wont be working in 2 weeks time. This means I'm going to have to take the week off too as I can't be around to let substitute driver in. A bit annoying as I really do need all the pennies I can get for hol. Think I may be a bit stingy as I was aiming to take £300 for the week & she is going for 5 days & taking £600 .
I've asked for extra work next week to make up for it. DD will be away & I'll be all sad & lonely - just me & my crates of cider. I might try to get a temporary lodger in. DD keeps asking if I'll miss her & I've assured her that I wont know what to eat every night & that there'll be a whole heap of drying up & putting away for her when she returns. In return, I'll be getting a heap of laundry _pale_
We went for a bike ride along the canal tonight & it was perfect. DD reckons we should go out every other night & I do agree. We didn't go anywhere last night as it was chucking down & even too wet for an umbrella walk. But it was a NSD.
I'm studiously ignoring the Joe Browns sale at the moment. Not quite sure how long I can resist though; I have my eye on a great pair of shorts & scarf ...
Need to get some sleep now & will return soon with more news of the Goblins new outfit ... flicking through the channels earlier I noticed a film with her name - apparently it's a horror :rotfl:
G'night

Hello Lula,
DS and I are fine - nearly school hols up here only another week to go! Sadly romance is no more but that's life eh?
On the cider front the berry one is very nice but actually prefer the apple and blackcurrant version, both lovely though. Four crates of eight sounds very nice!
Must not follow you to JB sale.... must not...
Fingers crossed for the weather on Friday although I think there's even sunshine predicted for up here so Englandshire should be fine. xMortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000

Skinty - sorry about the romance but great that you & DS are well.
I seem to remember that he's a similar age to my DD, is he heading to High School later in the year ? Only a week left  we've got another 4 ( thankfully).
Not a huge amount to report today other than it's been a NSD.
The Goblin has a new pair of mules; they're black ones but still at least a size too big so she's struggling with her stealth walk
Grumpy has put me back in charge of the project that Gropey wrenched away from me & this is how it rolls on at work-job. Day in, day out ... whatever one boss says, the other will contradict, argue, disagree or ignore. It's rather tiresome but yet amusing too. We're all happyish while Gropey still lurks somewhere in the Med & if the Aussies would just blow that big ash cloud over this way please, he could languish there for a lot longer too
DD spends her day at school rehearsing for their end of year production & today brought home a lovely invitation from the school to buy the dvd. At £13 .
I was a bit stunned, I mean, I can get 3 dvds from lovefilm for £6. I was wondering why we hadn't been asked to contribute towards costumes etc... but having paid £12 for tickets & another £13 for 'the film of the play' I can see how they're making the ends meet.
There hasn't been much home-job work this week & apart from the presents fund, form now on all earnings will go into holiday spends fund. I'm a long way from £300 still but have had so much spinning round my brain what with gigs, trips & work stuff. Will just focus on work work work & health for the next 4 weeks & can then relax & recover while on holiday.
I'll be sending off the holiday club form & payment tomorrow & I'm now starting to secretly look forward to DDs trip. I willmiss her dreadfully but, it will do me good to have some time to do my thing & that is going to be diet & exercise with no temptation.
Too tired to make much sense now so will continue tomorrow
G'night

Sounding good Lula - its so positive that you can detach yourself from the work politics.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Hello
Yes, DS is 12 now and moving to secondary after the hols, he's really keen thank goodness but I'm sure your daughter is at the same stage - one minute cheery, bright, sweet kid and Kevin the Teenager the next:eek:! Enjoy your week without DD, you can be carefree for a week and not looking at your watch with the ever present thought that you have to pick her up from somewhere soon;). It does you good to be apart, a week is fine but must say I'm not too keen when DS is away for a whole fortnight that's just too long.
That's an incredible price for a school DVD:eek:, think ours are usually £5 or £6.
I've still kept the weight off since last year so may I heartly recommend running - it's fab and means you can eat like a pig:rotfl::rotfl:!Mortgage OP 2025 £6250/7000Mortgage OP 2024 £7700/7000
