It's been a mad day today.

The plan was to go into work, get handover done, attend the meeting & then come home & tidy & clean the place.

It didn't quite go to plan.

I did manage to get a load of laundry done & out on the line & spent rather a long time choosing what to wear. I've been tempted to wear the fabulously divine free leopard print, suede & patent kller heel shoes a few times but a bit nervous as they are very high.

I decided today was the day to go for it - if I'm to be laid off then it would be in a blaze of glory & unforgettable shoes.

    I think it worked :D

Highly Annoying spotted them first & gave me a wink & thumbs up.

Gropey was next & said 'Wow' that is a very sexy pair of shoes.

Grumpy remarked that I'd made an old man very happy & that he now needed a cold drink.

Cockney Rebel was equally appreciative but his response is not fit for a public forum.

The Goblin hardly uttered a word to me ... maybe she felt that her navy blue mules which are definitely a size too big for her, were being overshadowed.

It's more likely that she thinks I'm a silly tart who wears ridiculous shoes. Not entirely true, but I if I was her, I'd probably hate me :rotfl:.

The meeting was postponed for a couple of hours & had a fairly positive outcome. The guy who hasn't shown up for while won't be coming back so we are now down to just 10 staff & 2 directors. We're all safe for while but still need to come up with ideas to cut costs & earn more business. We've all got ideas & I actually believe we can pull together a really tight team of people who are all seriously motivated.

I ended up not leaving until an hour later than my usual time & was home just half an hour before the coaches arrived at school.

The kids all looked really tired but happy. I got a huge hug from DD & I swear she has grown an inch. She said it was weird to be home but was so full of the trip & didn't stop talking for about an hour :rotfl:. She insisted on going to GG this evening but was the only one from the trip who did show up. Her determination to go, I think had a lot to do with not having seen her BF for a week & she had a present for her. She's got another club night tomorrow & I have a bin bag of washing to get through; thankfully they had sunshine all week so nothing too muddy.

As far as money matters go :

NSD number 1 for July :)

£12.68 paid by Quidco which boosts the laptop savings to over £200 :)

Confirmation of the summer playscheme place for DD arrived so cheque to go through any day now.

Money paid to the bank funds :

    Gas & Electricity = £300
    Car Insurance = £200
    Mot & Service = £220
    Car Tax = £ 20

I keep reading about people putting a set amount or percentage in to a savings account each month & learning to live on what's left.

I have managed to save into my funds each month so that seems like a very sound & easy method to use.

So tired now & really looking forward to a lie in tomorrow :j

    Bye for now
    xx

ETA : forgot to include that window cleaner arrived today so I put the change in the SPot.

DD brought home a lovely bin bag full of clothes in varying stages of dampness & decay.

Wash load number 3 in progress, while 1 & 2 are already out on the line. During this week I noticed a few things that mark out big differences between living alone & sharing living space with others.

Probably no difference whatsoever to my needs for heating (not at this time of year though) or hot water. I refuse to be cold for my own sake not just hers & I have noticed that people who insist on living in chilly homes tend to have much more illness & are more susceptible to coughs & colds.

The difference in laundry is huge. I could probably make do with just 2 loads a week as long as I thought about what I wear colourwise.

I currently do 5 loads a week, as extra bedding & towels alone make up an extra wash. School uniform means having to do specific colour washes.

Another big difference is in food costs. There are many items that I just wouldn't buy at all if I lived alone. I have found my eating plan very easy & must just stick to it & remember that although we share living space, DD & I have separate needs & it is important that they are met equally. For finance reasons it is often easier to just lump all meals together & while I like us to eat together I need to remember that we don't have to eat the same thing if it doesn't suit our needs.

I completely forgot to do the weigh & measure session yesterday but did it today & have lost 6lbs :). No noticeable inch loss but the reduction in starchy stuff has made me feel a lot sleeker & less bloated. I managed a 30 minute bike ride last night after dropping DD off at guides & feel a lot more 'bouncy' & lively in general.

NSD in progress & I'm just off to hang out the next load before watching the womens finals.

    Cleaning can wait :p

    NSD number 2 achieved.

I've been seriously bored today. Probably the come down after being so hyped up for the last few weeks but nothing interested or motivated me & I've been so hungry or craving something all day.

My body must hve recognised that it's saturday which is usually a carb & booze fest. Not any more though, it is now a temple; to meatballs & surimi :rotfl:.

DD had a party tonight & I was on pick up duty so no booze tonight. I had Burlesque from lovefilm so watched that. Thought it was great, I love all the theatricals & routines & wow can those ladies belt out a tune :T.

Collected girls at 10, who were all soaked as it was a foam party, very glad I keep a blanket in the car so they could sit on that.

DD not impressed as she'd had a bath & done her hair before going out, had another one before huffing off to bed & declaring that she's not going to the next one.

No plans for tomorrow other than completing the washing but next week is a busy one so I'd better get my act together & do some chores.

    Hey peeps,

it's been a weird week end here at Junction 10 & a half; DD & I have been prowling around eachother, trying to get reacquainted & yet both knowing that there's been a shift & not quite sure how to handle it yet.

In my opinion, she's tired, tetchy & hormonal. In her opinion, I've been moaning too much about tidying up & picking up stuff.

Clearly she's wrong, I do that all the time :p.

I just don't get why someone would walk into a room to get the glass on the table & walk out again leaving the bowl that was next to the glass  I also fail to understand why, when I ask if that's all the laundry she has, she says 'yes' & yet when I walk in the room 5 minutes after putting the machine on there are at least 3 socks on the floor ( either 3 or 5, never an even number to make a pair) & various other items theatrically draped across chair, bed & tv Grrrrrrr.

Anyway, we decided to finally build her wardrobe as I just can't wait until the room is tidy enough to shift furniture & paint ( my life expectancy isn't long enough) it went ok until I whacked my fingernail with a hammer & let out a very loud F word :o.

I was banished to the sofa with a bottle of cider to watch Wimbeldon - ok, I got to choose the last 2, but she did banish me. Game over & back to wardrobe building. Job done & scythed through it as I realise she has the same tendency as me to hang on to stuff she wont wear.

She was so miserable that I had to give her the pinboard I was keeping as a surprise. She loves it & did cheer up for a bit.

Neighbour came to ask if I still had the tent available so I did mention that other neighbour had also expressed an interest & eyebrows were raised & eyes rolled, but I just handed it over & wished them luck.

This was not the neighbour who offered money for it :( but I'll be glad if they get some use out of it & that it's no longer cluttering up my hall.

It's been NSD3 here but will be a tight week anyway. I have £60 available to spend & without any home-job work, there'll be no CC payment this week.

    Need to sleep now
    xx
