Hope the appointment goes well today, Lula (((((())))))))

As for the cc - if its still at 0%, I'd hold on - there's no need to pay it until you have to, and of course once they start charging you interest, you re-assess - I think thats one of Martin's cardinal rules on money you're getting at 0% - especially now, when inflation is comparatively high.

The library - well, its probably *more* essential for the pensioners than for most people - if they're anything like my mum, tho, they wouldn't dream of attending an evening meeting - was it evening? I'm not sure, actually - but in any case, it certainly sounds like you're right in the council having an ulterior motive :( very sad. The plans sound really bonkers :(

Hope you have something nice planned today too

    Morning all,

apologies for 'merry' ramblings last night; I had rather too much wine, rather too quickly & it hit me rather hard :o.

Dropped DD off at school having given her £12 for tickets to see their end of year production & headed straight out to Sainsbugs to do some frugal shopping. It all started well when a kind ma gave me his parking ticket. I'm so unnerved & losing the plot today that I completely forgot to take the stub into the shop to reclaim the £1 ( shamefully, I also didn't think to give the man the £1 for the ticket - sorry nice man :o).

I got everything on my list which was good ... but then got seduced by various bargainous offers on things such as washing powder & wine & crunchie ice creams :shhh: & got to the till only to discover that I had to pay £64.76 . Only on my way back to the car did I remember that I had a £3 off voucher which I had neglected to use .

So, that's £4 I threw away this morning & all by 10 o clock. Total grocery items spend came to £51.78 & I have updated the sig accordingly. Not looking so good now is it :(

Just had a quick coffee & opened up emails to discover that I now need to pay the remaining £26 for The Gig that DDs going to in October.

So, after 4 NSDs in a row, I have already spent over £100 today & as there will be parking to pay at the clinic, there will be more cash lost.

I had to use the CC to pay for groceries as didn't have enough cash, so on the way home will pay cash in to the bank in order to pay the CC.

    Back later I expect ...

Be kind, be kind, be kind ... you sound really quite disoriented, and I'm *not* talking about any sort of hangover - you kind of sound like you're in shock. Stay with the bargainous stuff, but have one of those ice creams (and, by the way, yuck to crunchies! Give me topic or star bar, or even snickers, any day of the week!)

    :):):)

Karma's right Lula petal, you do sound somewhat stressed. Forgetting tickets etc is normally my trick!

I hope the clinic appointment went OK. How about a soak in the bath followed by tea and biscuits (or ice cream*)?

    Rosa xx

    * yuck to Snickers and Topics, you did the right thing with the Crunchies.

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I guess I asked for that! I did have some Lindt Excellence yesterday - it was on sale at the Coop! But it was chocolate, not chocolate ice cream - does that count? :j

Aaaaah well I'm glad you said that, because I have been rather kind to myself; one x pair of shoes & one x raincoat as won on ebay both arrived today - new & need to be declared on the CCC :o.

A bit naughty of me as when I declared to makeup that I was all done with ebay for a while, I knew these items were already on their way ;).

Anyway, lovely makeup is safely cruising along the canals by now so we wont bother her with that little detail :shhh:.

Trip to health clinic was swift & for once I managed to park there so only £1. My blood pressure is fine - a teensy bit low & other results come through in about 3 weeks.

Felt a bit green after so came home & did as Rosa suggested, then walked to post office to pay money in & post a letter.

Spent all afternoon completing surveys & waiting for the promised email or phone call from Gropey ...

    ... still waiting now .

That man is so full of !!!!!! & I really don't know why I expected anything different from him. He either forgot, is avoiding the issue entirely or has spoken to the Goblin ( boo, hiss) who has advised him against letting me know.

He is on hol next week so I'm going to speak to Grumpy & try to get his take on matters. I need to have the childcare places booked by 1st July which is the day of the meeting so need to get some feedback soon. I am also going to mention to Grumpy about Goblin's contracted hours & why she is still doing overtime.

Other than that I have paid off the Sainsbugs spend from CC & also another £100 so the balance is now £1500.

I'm going to keep on bashing amounts off it for the next 2 weeks as I can always pay for the childcare out of funds if necessary.

This drama has made me realise just how easily it is to get sucked back into spending without too much thought for the future :o. Thank goodness I haven't taken out a new phone contract, although mine is a bit old now, it still costs me less than £15 a month.

    The cash funds have been rather abandoned in favour of saving for hol pocket money & depleted due to production & gig tickets;

    Presents fund is £180
    Trips & Fun is £60
    Pocket Money fund is £120

I've had a lovely glass of rose & am now considering going off for a mad walk in the rain ... :think:maybe not.

Very brief update to declare that I did indeed go for a walk - amazing the things that seem like a good idea once a glass of wine has been imbibed :rotfl:

I did 40 minutes with my wellies & new mac on & brandishing the spotty umbrella. I marched along the canal & felt a small pang of envy to see how cosy all the boats looked ... but then wondered just how much fun it would be to stumble along an unlit canal bank late at night when it's cold, wet & dark :(.

Will struggle to get all laundry done & dried this weekend, rain, rain rain. I got the vacuuming done today & the bathroom & kitchen could do with some attention too.

Planning on visiting local event but it rather depends on the weather, still need to get some bits for DDs trip & Dad keen to talk money again _pale_.

Need to check out train prices for next weekend but otherwise a quiet & hopefully peaceful one.

I've done this weeks bottle of wine already so back on the wagon as of tomorrow.

Going to head to bed now,

    G'night
    xx

    Hi Lula

Glad your appt went OK, @ Gropey and hurrah for walking in the rain.

Only further practical thought is do you have access to a union, ACAS, similar? Might be good to have info on the proper process. Of course there is also the Redundancy board on here.

Goblin situation sounds very odd. Even odder than usual. Particularly given that you've mentioned possible 'influences' on Gropey. Not sure where you stand with this so tactful exploring with Grumpy sounds sensible, possibly followed by checking with legal-ish advice.

Fingers crossed for you... of course if Gropey and Goblin were to ride off into the sunset together this would leave you ready to save the day... and without having to deal with either of them :D *hopes*

    Hello fabby peeps,

Rosa - thanks for support beyond the call ... ;) I give a conservative estimate that 90% of the staff wish that Gropey & the Goblin would disappear & enable us to get some professionals in to do their jobs :D

I'm not going to worry about it all now though; I've decided to just carry on as if losing my job is utterly unthinkable & remain 100% positive.

We've had an easy going day to day, wandered along the event & spent about an hour there, not overly impressed though. We did meet a gorgeous Irish Wolfhound though & saw a few classic cars. I was a bit miffed that DD wouldn't let me parp the hooter on the old style delivery van :rotfl:.

It started to rain so we stoped off at the bakery on our way to get some sausage rolls & had to run the rest of the way to keep them warm. Total spend was £3.90.

Lounged around in the afternoon & did 2 loads of laundry, then at 6 DD announced that we needed to go on a bike ride . So, I pumped up the tyres & we did. My legs ached after 5 minutes but we managed a good 40 minute ride & it's a good thing that I've already had children ... _pale_.

So no Davinas done, but a fair amount of simple exercise ( & a fair amount of piggin out too but I've decided that saturday is my weakness day so just going to go with it for now & be good the rest of the week.

Need some shut eye now so will report any news tomorrow

    G'night
    xx
