Forumscats - hi & thanks for your post - not sure if that was a genuine thanks or not :undecided ? but the tumbleweeds & I will take any kind of attention so even sarcasm is appreciated :D

I wouldn't take it personally - I think accounts like that automatically spam loads of threads with the same thing, hoping people will click on their Homepage link - which will be some sort of spam. I've reported the post as such.

I've been tidying and organising all weekend; life feels better without so much clutter, doesn't it?

    Thank you for sharing.

    ;)

Oh dear .... but it looks like the forum agreed with Dan's assessment, and removed it .... can't see it now. And I can't see any tumbleweeds either!

Lula, I *have* to join your clothes challenge! I've bookmarked it, but not got a post together yet, I'm just warning you now so you don't faint with shock when you see me on there (and pushing myself to do it). I was pleased yesterday - there was a little local spring fair, and I wore the per una top I bought from a charity shop for £3.99 - its *really* nice, and I was very pleased with the total look :) and I was *completely* thinking of you.

I hope you and DD did get out yesterday, it was soooo lovely.

Sunday ended up being a Spend Day but we mainly pottered about decluttering & rearranging.

The karmic law of reward was very generous. I put the non-working hifi in the kitchen to remind me to get if looked at & amazingly, it seems to like its new location & has chosen to start working again :j I've now set it up to live there permanently & actually it suits me very well in there :).

Monday I dropped off a bag of recycling on the way home from work & then we dropped off 3 huge bags of decent stuff at a local hospice shop. Sadly, they're not yet organized with gift aid, but the lady was so full of genuine gratitude at our donations that it absolutely confirmed my feelings that it was the right thing to do.

Again, the karmic reward was instant; DD found an unopened sequin art set picturing a dolphin that she'd been eyeing up in hobbycraft. I declined to buy it in there at £14.99 but was more than happy to pay the £3 the charity shop was asking :). My own karmic reward was to find 2 beautifully shaped cups & saucers with a fab pink flower print on a turquoise background for just £3.50. Those spends came out of my pocket money & the charity gained again :D.

Lovely new lappie was delivered in the evening - although not to me, but my neighbour, who thankfully passed it on to me very carefully & was a bit shocked that she hadnt even had to sign for it. I did a Davina weights workout last night & by the time I'd had a bath too I was too tired to set it up so saved that for tonight.

It looks so new, clean & shiny & I'm a bit embarassed to admit that I really did take the other one for granted as it's covered in scratches. I've decided to go ahead with buying a shell as £44 is so much cheaper than a whole new laptop :o. I tried to set up additional insurance earlier, but the lines were closed so have to do that tomorrow.

Not having used this variety for a couple of weeks & using the old desk top has made me realise just how much I do love & appreciate the new one; you take it out of the box, start it up & it just works, connects to network & it's just a joy to use - I :heartpuls it .

I need to reset all bookmarks & passwords & also realise I do need to organise my security a bit more thoroughly & also make a hard copy of certain things eg calendar, schedules etc ...

That brings me on to the next topic; money

I've caught up with all the available surveys & claimed another £10 amazon reward :D.

I've been seen in both the local co op & waitrose (parking for charity shop) & the Housekeeping spends are now at £114.66. I'm using up stuff we have & tonight I managed to get DD to eat some fish & salady veg on the grounds that as it's SATS week, it would help her brain :rotfl:

I shifted all the odd pounds & pence into my current account yesterday & made the necessary payment of over £200 so the CC balance is hovering around the £1275 mark at the moment

Must get to bed now, will report in again soon

    G'night
    xx

Thank you ladies & gents for lovely posts, as ever :A

Dan - thanks for throwing out the spam, I just wasnt sure ... glad you're being all tidy too - makes me feel less ocd :rotfl: Thanks for sharing :D

    A bit of work-job news now :

Busy busy day, lots of visitors which I like as I get to lurk on MSE & Guardian websites without being interrupted :shhh:

Gropey & the Goblin are on a course tomorrow & Friday & Grumpy is oop north for an early morning meeting tomorrow so I get the office to myself tomorrow :j. I need to make the most of it as Grumpy sent me a text earlier to tell me that he'd be handing me my P45 when he gets back & that my @rse is toast due to the 'hotel' I booked him into.

There seems to have been a run on the chain we usually use & the only rooms available were either in the city centre with no parking - he insisted on parking - or 25 miles away - he insisted on being within 10 miles.

I found something very local & as he loves fishing & it had a pond in the picture, I thought he'd appreciate it. Apparently not - it's the smallest room in the world, the walls are made of tissue paper, the shower has been installed in a partitioned corner & it's on a main road next to a caravan park He was about to tuck into his "botulism & chips with flat lager".

I replied that he should be grateful as botox is all the rage now & I hoped this hadnt jeopardised the i-phone he's gong to buy for me & then wished him goodnight & that the bedbugs didnt bite :rotfl:

I think I'd better make him some rock cakes for monday. With a sedative frosting :D.

Horrible home-job today - didnt finish until 9pm & I've been asked to work 3 days next week. I'd love to say no, but having just added up the CC bill including the new laptop case, it's now over the £1300 mark again.

It's been a NSD which is great as it's number 6 so only 10 more to accomplish to reach my target.

I received the brochure for the summer holiday playscheme & they've changed the dates so I've had to book the last week of July & first week of August as holiday, then there's 3 weeks of playscheme & I dont know the new term date so might need to / would like to take a couple more days at the end of August. Playscheme will cost about £250 & extra fuel if I remember right from last year.

Hope the weather is good while I'm off work as we can do loads of stuff for free & I might just get to meet up with the swingers & psychos too ;).

There never seems to be enough money though, so I might need to start doubling what I put away for FUN fund.

So tired now & no exercise done tonight :o

Back soon with more riveting news ...

Just popping in for a quickie update - at work & dont have much to do.

    1) Techie guy has been in & rubbed his hands with glee at the prospect of fixing my old lappie. Have told him the top dollar price I'm willing to pay for fixing it & this is the price I was going to pay for a lappie for DD. If he can fix it then she might as well have it.

    2) I've just rung AA to boost insurance to now include accidental cover & I am now covered home & anywhere in the world for all personal possessions up to the value of £2500 ( dont panic - the lappie wasn't platinum plated that's the standard value).

The cost of this peace of mind ?

    £25 .

Why oh why oh why oh why didn't I just do this in the first place. Would have saved me a fair few hundred :o.

Never mind, what's done is done & a shiny new case is on it's way to me as well.

I've just checked bank balance to make sure I had enough in there to cover the cost ( nice lady didnt want to me to pay by CC as there's a charge so I was about to shift funds while on the phone) & those cheeky peeps at the Inland Revenue seem to have paid extra dosh in to my account :j:T. I can only assume it's either a backdate of contribution to childcare costs, next weeks payment going in early, or ... the karmic reward rumbling on in which case I'm seriously considering donating all my worldly possessions - bar lush new lappie & shoes of course ;) - just to see what happens :D.

Gotta go now, DD1 visiting tonight so have to pop to Sainsbugs after work & will be back later to declare spends ...
