13 Moons part 2 - Freebird & Frugabulous

:j to Manchester accent
Oooh I know - brought back memories of a lovely musician I used to hang out with back in the day ...
Best we dont head off down Lula's Memeory Lane, we'll be gone for days :rotfl: so moving smartly onwards I can reveal that I have come first in my own personal race to the first NSD of the month :j
This is somewhat miraculous as I've spent the last hour mooching about on the Figleaves & Bravissimo sites. Ir's all Rosa s fault, she mentioned new lingerie & I thought I should have some too . I have resisted though as I then remembered all the unworn sets I have stored away for when I fit back into them.
I've eaten a load of rubbish again today - cakes, ice cream, sweets etc ... Although I did have a baked potato with salad for supper & spent a good hour 'just dance' ing on the wii so that might go some way to redressing the balance.
I dont seem to have achieved much in the way of decluttering or ironing but I have cleaned the kitchen & bathroom, hoovered throughout & done 4 loads of washing.
Not sure what we're doing tomorrow, but do hope it doesnt involve spending money. I'm at the stage of being so fed up with clutter that I'm just going to donate it all & hope that karma rewards me in some way.
In fact, I'm so keen to have less stuff & more space that I'm going to head off now to do it.
G'night

It all sounds very productive Lula-surely it is the law to eat rubbish on a Bank Holiday SundayBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Hello Bob - yes indeedy & I am a stickler for laws regarding Bank Holiday Eating ... today's strict adherence to nourishment legalities has included a bag of peanut M&Ms - my latest chocolate fix.
I was very inspired after my post last night & so stayed up until 1 am, sorting through my wardrobe & drawers. I've evicted another 2 skirts, 2 pairs of 'no way will I ever be close to a size 6 again *snort* trousers', 2 cardigans, 3 tops ( one bought last summer & never worn because I've finally realised that colour makes me look corpsical - real word ?) & more shoes.
Turns out that half of these items were ebay purchases. The lesson there is that I should avoid ebay for a while as I get rather too carried away with the bidding.
Another interesting revelation was the fab black ankle boots that I bought last week. I wore them shopping the other day & after an hour I would happily have left them in the shop & driven home barefoot, such was the pain. DD swears blind they fit her fine & are very comfy so I've donated them to her & she's delighted. Well she will be until she finds out that I'll never let her wear them out of the house as they're too high for her.
Back to the wardrobe - I found a skirt that I love but dont wear because it's the wrong length. That was easily sorted by chopping off the lower tier & now I just need to rehem the lining & then I have a new summer skirt.
The lovely jacket that I dyed green 2 years ago ( was off white but never wore it as got dirty too quickly) is being given a new lease of life, again. I dont know what possessed me to dye it green, it makes me look like a leprechaunso a trip to hobbycraft & a packet of dye means it's on its way to becoming purple. I'll see how that goes, & if still hideous, I'll give in & charitize it. Cant say I havent tried though
Although bright & sunny, the wind is wild & DD was not interested in meeting up with school friends in nearby park for a picnic & waterfight. Well, to be fair, I wasnt interested in trying to picnic in a force 5 gale & she wasnt keen to go unless she knew exactly who else was going. It seems she is quite discerning when it comes to who she spends her free time with, dont know where she got that attitude from .
Anyway, she had a dolphin to build & paint which turned out to be somewhat more appealing. The trip to hobbycraft was great for giving us inpsiration for decorating her room. Still looking for that nice man willing to work for £50 a day & paint an entire room & ceiling within that day ... alternatively, I could just pay myself £50 & get on with it.
I've found a nice bike I want to buy for me. Cannot face the thought of getting on that gender-annihilating boys bike again _pale_. Hang on a minute ... perhaps I could add a free bike to go with the £50 day rate, thereby decluttering my shed at the same time as getting work done:rotfl:. The amount of stuff I have to shift, I could get the entire place redecorated for about £200.
Total spend in hobbycraft was £10.55 which comes out of my pocket money & then on the way home we stopped off at the co op to buy a baguette so that was another £1.85 off the groceries - no the bread wasnt that expensive, but DD went in to the shop & bought herself some planets & me some peanut M&Ms with my money.
Although I do miss my lappie, as each day passes I find I'm more reluctant to put the cost of replacing it on the CC. However I look at it, it's debt & I've fought really hard to get out of debt & although I know it's just short term & very controlled, it's making me feel very uneasy.
I dont have any issues with buying the cooker, that was a necessary purchase as the old one was actually dangerous & I have burn scars on my arms to prove it. I know it makes sense to use the shiny new 0% CC, especially as I get cashback, but it just delays the savings plan, again.
Will ponder some more ... first off to add Grocery & NSD spends to my sig, so I dont forget.
Bye for now

If you don't need the laptop and can wait you'd be better off saving for it.I know how you feel about using the CC as I haven't used one since becoming debt free...I'd rather save for stuff now and not have a bill to pay each month.0

Hi Luls - my patch isn't too huge at all - all in pots! So looks v.cluttered but who cares - not me! Sowed some more salad seeds today and first few are ready now! also bought some mustard cress seeds on Sat for 49p to try - reminded me of being very young but then thought would be good to try out now and then see how they go and if they grow and are ok get some more in for over winter. They're growing on soaked kitchen roll in a plastic tray in the kitchen - just like being at school again!
The assignment is in with a big phew!
Your cooker sounds ace - I wish I had a new one. Well with all the savings pots going on for early next year I might have some spare cash for one instead of spending it on a pair of boots which was the original idea, or a greenhouse for next year, or a holiday next year....who knows.....final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
its really hard, although I am not there yet, I keep thinking about things like Car insurance the dentist, Christmas etc The Dentist worries me as I would have previously planned to put it on the CC but now I am counting each penny to get shot of it all I feel slightly ridiculous thinking oh its ok I can use the CC......................
Money is great and all but its a right pain the bum sometimes!Nevertheless she persisted.0 -

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Brilliant, better not tell DD that - she's obsessed with all vampish stuff at the moment.
On reflection, I think the proper word is corporeal, or corpse-like would suffice, or even just pallid, drained or yuk.
You get the picture, sludgy khaki brown does nothing for my face.
I resisted the lingerie ... for now. I'm not a fan of M&S changing rooms with their brutally honest multi view mirrors . Do they not want to sell their stuff ?
Back in a bit - shameful soap habit to feed ...0 -
Honestly, you coud feed an army with the words that fall out of my mouth & then have to be eaten with a large portion of Humble Pie :rotfl:.
No sooner have I declared my worry at overdosing on the CC & next thing you know I'm at the dixons checkout with a shiny new lappie in my basket .
I know, I'm full of !!!!!!
In my defence though ( no, go away, this is going to be good) Dixons owe me a new lappie & I have always maintained that I will be keeping CCs, just using them sensibly.
It's true, I challenge anyone to look back through my history & find a post where I say that I'm never going to have a CC again, & if you do find it ... then add it to my extra large helping of humble pie.
As for dixons owing me a lappie, well that's true too; back in October when I started looking for the best deal, they had it :j & I attempted to buy one, but for some stupid reason ( work delivery address different from home address, unsurprisingly you'd think) they cancelled the transaction& when I explained why I wanted it delivered to work - potentially leaving a lappie on the doorstep all day, seemed a trifle optimistic in human nature to me - I was told I coul re-order. Not a chance
the price had gone back up.
I went for the next best deal, direct from product shop which was a lot less dealy, a lot less cashbacky & has generally turned out to be rather unF***ing Fabulous & somewhat more costly than ever expected
So yes, dixons owe me . Well they sure do now, they owe me 1 x shiny new lappie & one x amount of fairly juicy cashback at £39. ( how irksome that you only get cashback on the price before VAT is applied )Inspite of offering free delivery, I've had to pay to get it delivered here in the evening as I darent attempt to get it delivered to work again + I'd rather not everyone at work knew my business.
DD is horrified that I'm paying for delivery to replace it, but clearly doesnt realise that the more Mummy shops, the better her laptop fund is topped up.
So, you'll probably want to know CC figures & tomorrow you can have them as I'm too tired to work it all out tonight.
Before leaping at me with tar & feathers, please take the following points in to consideration :
1) I have a cashback CC so will eventually be 'rewarded' for all purchases
2) The cashback CC is on a 0% rate for all purchases for 6 months & I can easily repay it before the rate runs out
3) I have ISA savings that are larger than the balance on the CC (just)
4) I will continue to work at both heinous jobs until the balance is cleared
5) I will take out accidental cover on my contents insurance
6) I'm prepared to shop at 'the nameless place' in order to cut my outgoings.
7) Number 6 easily outweighs all 5 previous declarations & shows my commitment to being sensible
'Nuff said now,
G'night ...
