Good god, how much money do you want???? £700 per week and your complaining about £150!!!! That still leaves you £550 for yourself!!! I'd have a lot more sympathy if you were struggling on a low wage, like a lot of NRP's are!
Please excuse me - I have worked all my life...40 years for our great British M O D...why should I carry on working full time...
I had no mortgage, nothing to pay - the £839pm I was ordered to pay for 1 child.... £150.00pw maintenance and the rest arrears what had accrued whilst they took 5 months sorting this re-assessment.
Do you know of anyone - normal everyday working class people who are paying this amount of money?0 -

No, I have never ever met him...only seen him on Fbook, his mother has obviously put loads of photo's of him on there for me to see...0 -
Infant I don't understand your question. Alot of us are on CS 2, so a partner moving in would be irrelevant . However yes we did inform them when I had another child. So the maintenance did reduce.
I also agree with pink princess, knowing your child is better than any amount of money.
I'm on CSA1, see you quite rightly ionformed CSA of your new baby because it would get a reduction in your reqired maintenance amount.
I would really like to know, please are there any NRP's who informed the CSA of their new partner moving in, AFTER the CSA assessment was made.
That's all I did was not inform them, as we are legally not obliged to....is anyone going to agree I have NOT broken the CSA rules, please?0 -
Well, on 700 quid a week you can afford it!! As I said I feel much sorrier for some poor sod on a low wage, who is struggling to pay their bills! And no, I personally don't know anyone paying that amount, but on the money you get, I'm sure there are many in the same boat!! Just think on, it will end when they are 16, or 19 if in education, so it cannot be that long to wait until the end! And if you have been working 40 years, then you must be in your late 50's, so I'm sure payments will go down when you get your old age pension0

I will answer your question. My husband and I chose to get married knowing full well that we would be re-assessed by the CSA when we did so. And yes, we were honest and we did inform the CSA about our change of circumstances. The amount we had to pay increased significantly when my details were sent to them, despite assurances that my income would not be taken into account when the assessment was done - they only needed it to see if the assessment was likely to be less.
We got married with the expectation that the assessment would increase. Why would you do that you may ask?? Well we wanted to move on with our lives. If we didn't get married because of the CSA then it meant that his ex was still controlling our lives and dictating how my husband lived his life years after they had separated (the separation occured before we got together and it was not my husband's choice - he fought hard to keep his family together).
Is it fair that she should still be controlling his life years after her decision to completely change his life in the first place - she had a series of affairs and decided that he could no longer live in the house that he had paid the mortgage on for many years, and made him a weekend Dad instead of a Dad that had the privilege of putting his children to bed every night.
For that reason we chose to "bite the bullet" and make that change - and yes it has cost us more but we were the ones in control of our future not her.0 -

No, because if their income isn't that high, neither will their assessed maintenance liability. It is all relative to income. If you're a higher earner, of course your payment will be higher than someone on half the wage.Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Yes - Us!!
We are paying nearly £600 a month on CSA 1, and have been doing so for a number of years. We have also paid arrears on top of this in the past- (paid off now) - however our arrears were not for payments deliberately not made - they were for payments that had been paid to the PWC directly, but she lied to the CSA and said my OH had not paid anything and they believed her, so we had to pay more than £6000 again for money my husband had already paid after the CSA had opened the case and not made an assessment, and he was paying her directly. She said he had paid her nothing.
So there are other people in the same boat as you - yes we hate the CSA system, we would prefer to be on CSA 2 where we would pay approx half of what we pay now, but do you know what? the PWC cannot never tell my husbands children that he never paid what was due to them, and we have a clear conscience.0 -

Um, just a stab in the dark here.....but I believe you have a child to support? If that means you have to work...then so be it! Your child doesn't stop needing things just becuase you decided to mess around with your partners life, his mother's life at a late stage in your life
I had no mortgage, nothing to pay - the £839pm I was ordered to pay for 1 child.... £150.00pw maintenance and the rest arrears what had accrued whilst they took 5 months sorting this re-assessment. So if you were paying the arrears, maybe you should've put some money aside when you knew it was being assessed......alleviate arrears.
Do you know of anyone - normal everyday working class people who are paying this amount of money? Only people who are on a decent income and possibly owe arrears......
How's your wife holding up through all this deception? What country did you relocate to - and are you REALLY living there......0 -
Yes - Us!!
We are paying nearly £600 a month on CSA 1
Exactly I was paying £839pm = £650 regular maintenance and £189.00pm arrears = totalling £839.00pm (I never had any arrears only what they accrued through assessment time).
When I was classed as 'out of UK', 19 months after closed my case, they started collecting the arrears by DEO from my MOD pension, that was a shock to me!0
