I think he was on CSA 1 or he wouldn't be talking about housing costs. I think.0

God you are a tool! why the hell would a NRP get maintenance.
Sorry I meant ask a PWC. Still not one NRP have answered the question 'When your assessment was made and then your new partner moved in with you - 1 month, 1 years 5 years later - did you inform the CSA your partner had moved in and would like a re-assessment carried out?'0 -

Thank you Kellogs for replying:
No,I never actually moved into the rented address, but I can prove it was officially my address, even paying the council tax, so they cannot reassess.
When they asked for a re-assessment nealy 6 yrs later, I was then earning £700.00pw, I give the new rented address and they allowed me £92.00pw housing costs. My maintenance re-assessment was increased to £150.00pw.
All this has come about because the PWC other child became 16 yrs(different NRP) about 12mths after my partner moved in, the CSA said they should have re-assessed to increase so that I pay the full carer allowance and family premium.
The CSA never carried out a re-assessment and now they are looking to charge me for all that time, just looking for someone to blame, I think.
I don't think what you said that on the 1st assessment if I had told them we were earning £3,200pm net - surely they would have expected her to pay toward the £734.00 housing costs?
Or have I been through all of this for nothing0 -
How old is your child ? Do you not want to know him/her ? They could be the best thing thats ever happend to you and your worrying about money.I find that very sad.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0

Infant I don't understand your question. Alot of us are on CS 2, so a partner moving in would be irrelevant . However yes we did inform them when I had another child. So the maintenance did reduce.
I also agree with pink princess, knowing your child is better than any amount of money.0 -
So you paid £86pw for 6 years? If you thought that was too much, you should have asked the CSA for a reassessment based on what you were earning. Instead of ducking and diving and trying to squirm your way out of paying anything, write to them, with payslips etc, and they will deduct 15% of your earnings. With bits and bobs reductions for overnights etc. Which I might add, is a dammed sight fairer than when my oh was paying on CSA1!! Then your eyes really would have watered!!
Thats exactly what I did give them my wages slips.
£300pm for five years and £150pw until I was declared 'Non UK Resident'0 -
The main concern I would think is not so much whether you should have been paying more if they discover that you were actually living with your partner rather than the rented place (did you actually go to the extend of paying council tax JUST so not to pay maintenance???) but the years you pretended not to live in the country to avoid paying all together.infant2801 wrote: »she got greedy and got the biggest shock ever!infant2801 wrote: »Ask any NRP who is receiving £10pw maintenance for the next 19 years.....what would they rather have that or 6yrs at £25,000? Anybody would jump at it.
I get nothing from my partner even though he is working, yet I rather deal with a nrp who pays nothing but is a good dad to his children who were conceived out of love, than getting £10pw let along £25,000 if it was to have someone like you as the father of my children.0 -
Like pink princess said above have you never ever had any inclination to get to know your own child, YOUR flesh and blood? Maybe if you did, then perhaps you may see them as a real human being rather than just something that took a cut of your wages.
I can't understand how anyone could re-arrange their whole life simply just to contribute as little as possible to their own child!0 -

I'm not an NRP myself, but I am an NRPP (my husband is NRP) and yes, we did immediately inform CSA we had moved in together. We had a private arrangement until the PWC decided to involve CSA when hubby got ill and his wage dropped, and as a result, so did the amount he could afford to pay. He was asked on the phone 'do you have a partner' and he answered 'yes' and had to give my name etc. Not that it matters on CSA2, as partners income details are not asked for.
As I understand it, on CSA1 they are only used to see if you can afford the assessed amount - they never actually asked for the partner to hand over any cash towards the PWC, and in some cases, giving their income actually led to lower assessments than would have been the case if they had refused to give their details. So, your partner's income would probably have never even altered the assessment one way or another even if you had been completely honest!Olympic Countdown Challenge #145 ~ DFW Nerd #389 ~ Debt Free Date: [STRIKE]December 2015[/STRIKE] September 2015

Good god, how much money do you want???? £700 per week and your complaining about £150!!!! That still leaves you £550 for yourself!!! I'd have a lot more sympathy if you were struggling on a low wage, like a lot of NRP's are!0
