  • Aloha and happy pay day to us,

£500 in savings now and all bills accounted for :)!

On the not so good front... OH car broke down which was going to happen anyway and we were planning on getting a new one in June anyways but it beat us to it and chucked it!

The AA are on their way to pick it and OH up and try to sort it (we get coverage through our bank account) I dont know what we are going to do yet but we have my car in the meantime which he can use to get back forth to work. Stuff like this always seems to happen and this is where my Credit Card debt comes from - emergancies! Infact I have had my credit cards for 5 years and they have been used for any kind of problem like this in the past! This time though I will not be using credit - we shall sort this on our own!

On the shred - I have been shredding and I have exercised today but only got half way through then the baby was crying so didnt finish - I'm going a big walk with my mum tomorrow as well so thats good!

Our phones are due for upgrade this weekend too - Will need to sort a plan for car first though and then work out the phones.

Its my friends birthday this weekend so were going for dinner and drinks but we got a deal on 5pm.com so yay!

Feeling happy and healthy today anyways! x

  • Aw well - 1 step forward and 2 steps back as usual! The timing belt is away on OH car and were going to need to oay to get it fixed. It has given us a kick up the bum to get this paid off - its with a company specialising in people with bad credit (OH) and they charge 35% aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! so were going to bite the bullet and pay this off and get rid of the peice of junk before it hemirages any more money! The finance company want around £2500 to settle it F&F.

The MOT and tax are due on 1st July so have to get shot of it before then or it will just cost us more so....... my plan is to save £1000 and sell the car (it should be worth at least £1500 if not more.) Then pay the finance company back and get a new car!

Its not ideal but we are better doing this before it breaks again - to be honest I dont drive it because im worried it will break down and I dont like the baby being in it for the same reason. I've done the sums and we can have £1000 saved by 23/06 then it will be a case of trying to sell the car.

This also means my little £500 MAT leave savings will have to pay to fix the timing belt! Booooo! Feels like this always happens with us - were getting somewhere and then something comes out of the blue and ruins it all!

Ah well - rant over it is what it is!

    Happy easter everyone :) x

There always seems to be something doesn't there. I was trying to save up for maternity leave earlier in the year and we kept having car problems which was eating all the money up.

In other news, I had my baby last week! Little girl called Poppy so I am now a fully fledged member of the Mummy club1!

Hope you are having a good weekend x

Congrats Wendz and welcome to the world Poppy!

Booboo try and keep your chin up! xx
Wandered away from the MSE track for a while but am back and on a mission! Debts cleared nearly £18k. Now to start saving ...
  • Hello,

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Im so happy for you and welcome to the world poppy!

Well I have some good and bad news - Good news - car is getting fixed free of charge! FIL called in a favour!

Bad news - We fell off the MSE wagon big time - but I had a great weekend so I dont really care! Bad Booboo!

Naughty purchases - iPhone (£60 each) was getting this anyway! My night out £80 - OH night out £90, New shirt for my night out £40.00, and maybe a couple of takeaways £30. uhoh! hahaha! that is £300!

Well im not going to bother trying to justify myself but this wasnt spent using credit but I guess it could be money in the savings account.

Good things - £100 from mazuma for old phones, £200 Tax rebate for me. So im gonna say this can cancel it out!!!!

I know im a bad booboo - but I must admit I had a great time xxx

  • Well today is payday so I put £100 in savings and also some DD's came out which have decreased my debt amount - will update sig in a mo!

Reading back my diary from last night I think it is like a diary where people can come to feel good about their progress in comparison to how crap I am at it!

Todays pay was my last at 90% - next months is 50%! Me and OH have agreed on no more nights out for a good while so we dont spend like this again.

So savings are at £250 which is good and my goal is still to build this up - will think about figures etc later.

Have had a check and OH phoned HMRC and apparently he is due a tax rebate too as he was on emergancy tax for a couple of months - according to my calc it should be about £1000 but will need to wait on the p60 to come in so I can check it! HMRC said they will check when they get the p60 information and send us a cheque! This will be great but im not including it in anything until I actually see it in black and white!

Off to be non MSE and get my hair cut although I have a 50% off voucher so it will only be £17.50 and I Coloured it myself at the weekend so swings and roundabouts! x

  • Hello All,

Well im officially the worst MSE'er ever! I went shopping today....... meh!

Decided I needed summer clothes so nipped over to new look and bought a pair of linen trouser and 3 summer tops and they are beautiful! spent £40 in total! Anyways... money in the bank for bills.

Not exactly sure what happens with child benefit on a bank holiday and it pretty inconsistant at the moment so is child tax credit - god knows what is going on!

The weather here has been lovely so having a bbq at my parents tomorow - free dinner.... very MSE ;) also got 150 nappies in asda for £15 today and 6 packets of wipes for a fiver, happy days!

Off to play with the baba x

Haven't wrote in a few days! Well I typed a full thing then deleted it by accident twice, so gave in! Well a busy bank holiday weekend, and didn't spend very much other than the shopping which was £78. But bulk bought a few things!

Had to borrow £50 from savins but will replace on Thursday - actually aiming to put away £100 this week bringing it up to £300, think I'll try to get to £500 by the end of the month then maintain this, my reasoning is that we will never need more than £500 to cover bills in any given bad week.

The next savings pot will be discussed when this target is met.

£20 of diesel in the car today and a visit to my friends.

Hello all and happy pay day for us.

This morning I have done all my housework, put washing on and hung it up, paid bills, updated my spreadsheet and dealt with baby and played some games.

There is £250 in the bank for the week, I'm not going to move anything to savings yet as it's oh mums 50th, were going to buy her gift and then get money from his sister to cover their half, I will go and buy it this weekend.

Got till the 26th to save my £500! I haven't had any child tax credits since march so I don't know what's going on with that, I'll need to phone them today I think!

Will update when I speak to ctc. X
