Oooo a bit of mistery over Lady Lesley.

Such a shame, I would have loved to have benefitted from her knowledge.

Maybe set up under a new name and not mention the farm (for the moment at least)?

I don't know what sort of oven you've got, Rising from the ashes, and TBH I was never a great one for cleaning out ovens :o but if you're trying to remove burnt grease on grills, roasting tins etc, washing soda dissolved in very hot water is an old method that works well. It might not be so good for an oven interior because of the difficulty of getting it all out afterwards. You don't want to be cooking in soda fumes.

Oh, and great news about the land! :j Well done!

I've discovered that stubborn oven dirt can be loosened considerably by putting a baking dish of boiling water in the oven when it's on (about 180-200) and leaving it in there for half an hour. The oven suddenly becomes much easier to clean. Handy to do this whilst baking bread so that you get the steam from the water to help the bread on it's way at the same time.

Oh I don't know why I didn't think of that! I do that when I'm trying to get stuff off the inside of the microwave but never thought of it for the oven before (RFTA skulking away, shaking her head at what an idiot she can be sometimes)!

I'm trying to be more frugal.....:rotfl: and have to share a link with some details I got on 'scaffolding' today (cos like I've gone up at least one chest size in 6 months and was popping - please don't all blush at once)...Obviously with the decorating budget is at it's max, so couldn't afford my normal lingerie shop @ £30 a pop (and wasn't going to pay that after only 6 months)

SO here is the link for my wee post on some essential female bargains...only get if you need girlies...if you need..GET...can't get much cheaper than £2 :j.....for an M+S (okay is was bright fuchsia - sort of glow in the dark variety and really couldn't face wearing it....but still got a good buy :T)

The frugal living won't last and will neverbe as good as you folks but I can but keep trying...

    Blessings

    E
PS. re the orange peel recipe - takes too long for me...use bicarb, vinegar and lemon juice (buy in bulk cash and carry....about £4 of bicarb lasts me about 6 months) for everything...if you don't like vinegar try cheap fabric conditioner...will still unblock a toilet:)

    Girl power!!!

The sites seem to be owned mostly by people from SE Asia and I don't know if they approach it from the western medical perspective, complementary medicine or traditional Asian medicines. I've never heard of such fruit enzymes in the UK before (until you mentioned them, that is) but that might just be my ignorance. I also wonder if the enzyme will take longer to brew in the UK than in those warmer climates, so we might need a bit more patience? Anyway, here are two sites about enzymes for drinking:

    www.my-island-penang.com/Fruit-Enzyme.html

    http://thegreatmagnetpull.blogspot.com/2010/.../orange-enzyme.html

Hmm, the links are going a bit funny, you might have to cut and paste...

Thanks for that. I couldnt get anything like on the first one.

The second link - I found:

    http://thegreatmagnetpull.blogspot.com/2011/02/enzyme-drink.html

and have made notes for future experimentation.

Thanks for thinking of me Dizzy.

I am feeling a bit better but hearing from my foster brother after nearly forty five years has been quite emotional. I found out his family applied to adopt me but my foster Dad had a heartattack during the process and it was not allowed.

I have had a few NSDs but seem to have been paying out for a lot lately. My daughter bought a ticket to Gloucester to see her Grandparents and then realised her pass expired the day before she went so I had to pay out twenty odd quid for a new one. I got my hair coloured at Trevor Sorbie for free yeserday but left a generous tip and then went on a hunt for Newberry Fruits to take to my foster mother next week to no avail and ended up tired and hungry so treated myself in the M and S cafe.

Today I went to the dentist and had a filling and feel traumatised so treated myself to some Rochester Ginger Wine and Suma soap and then found a wicked leopard print coat for the girlie and lovely ethnic print top in the scout shop for me, so spend spend spend I'm afraid!

I need to get up to speed with the spending diary too!

Oh my, ruby, not surprising you felt a bit off kilter. Hope everything is okay now with you.
I must say your days out always sound just up my street :)

miss empty piggy I also have a version of what I call 'herby bread' when we haven't any garlic bread in. All I do is butter slices of bread, sprinkle with herbs and either pop in the oven for a few minutes or sometimes just grill. Actually does the trick when you want something to mop tomato/onion sauce with :D

I've given up this month on my spending tally. I did go over but to be fair I was adding all my spends to it...maybe I need to have two, one for grocery and one for miscellaneous.
I still think it's helping being on this thread, emotionally 'cos you're all lovely and financially because I'm much more careful with my spending.
And on that note I realise it's already Saturday and I haven't said
Happy Easter to those that celebrate, so...

    Thank you Dizzy!

Erme where is the link please. I need bras in Summer colours only have two that fit me now in dark colours!

Need to bring in the washing I think as I'm sure I just saw lightning!

NSD yesterday but spent out on a coffee and vanilla swirl at hospital today as I finally went to get an xray as foot seemed to be getting worse. Nothing broken thank goodness but badly inflammed tendons maybe another four to six weeks to get back to normal.

Bought some dead sea salts to soak my foot and also make a bath soak with rose petals and essential oils as a birthday present.

Mine were really expensive 5.09 for a kilo in my local health food store which is pricier than H and B but I try and support him but they are the Dead Sea Magic ones.

Epsom salts are cheaper but don't have so much magnesium.

Actually I've just googled at they are more expensive on H and B's website! There's a first!:rotfl::rotfl:

    Thanks for the pm.

posted a query to Lady Lesley on her blog re why her posts have gone etc, and she has just replied via pm

she says mse changed her username, then banned her for promoting her blog. She thanks people for their support and says you can find her on facebook or her blog using Trallwm Farm, her email address is there too

shame, it would have been interesting talking about Superscrimpers from an insiders viewpoint
