She ended up getting some that fit from John Lewis. I will ask her the brand n let you know. If money is no object I recommend Russell & Bromley (Aquatalia & Stuart Weitzman). Or Duo now do narrow fitting shoes.

We were worried about that for OHs. You could see the same person in the 2 photos, but not so much from his last photo to him now! Fingers crossed it has all gone through!

oh, thanks, I've had boots from Duo and they are so comfy. I'm telling my BM's that they can choose their own shoes (I dont mind which heel height, colour, etc as long as they do with red and they can walk in them) and I'll pay up to £30, if they want anything more expensive they can pay the difference.

Hey, well done everyone on getting so much done!

Invitations are supposed to be out this weekend but my printer isn't doing a nice job of the inserts so have to wait till I'm at my Mum and dads to finish them.

Also in 2 minds about the wine. We have wine included for the day guests but thought it would be nice to supply a few bottles for the evening guests too. The cheapest one the venue does is £21.50 and they're willing to knock £2 off for me if I buy in bulk. Corkage is £10. Have seen some wine on Virgin wines (we've had it before and it's ncie) which would cost £3.30 per bottle (half price -ish). Sooo... dilemma is do we pay £10 to open a £3 bottle of wine or save our money for other things!

I would pay the £10 for a £3 bottle. The £21 bottle will have a 50% mark up at least, so will cost £10 in a shop. I would prefer to spend the money on other things- like twice as much wine! :D I know which my family / friends would prefer. :)

Agree, at least you know the wine you pay corkage for will be nice. Sometimes the cheap hotel or restaurant wines can be a bit nasty.

Just heard back from my dressmaker! :j The :money: bit is happening! So I will bore you all now! :) the lace for my dress would've really hard to find a perfect match, and it's really expensive lace anyway... But she had a bride who had some lace which is almost perfect, and asked if she could have it at an MSE price. The other bride said yes, so :j so I do t have to pay her for the time spent sourcing the material either! :T n it's almost a perfect match (which is good enough for me). N no-one will notice for a bolero anyway. :D

    ok - bit update time!!

Registry cermony: Ivory full length bridal coat arrived from china/ebay. VERY relieved about how it looks, it is probably about an inch too tight on the front fastening and on the bum (but I had to measure myself!!) and overall I am very happy with it and it looks lovely. Needs a flippin' good steaming though as creased.

I have today been looking for a local alterations shop to shorten my registry office dress, found one about a 2 minute walk from work and plan to talk to them about the work needed later this work.

Major research and much gnashing of teeth over what to have on my head and have settled on a plain fabric medieval style crown/tiara. I'm embellishing it with some sari ribbon (long scraps of cut up sari).

Have decided the wire and jewel bouquet isn't 'me'. Proportionately it isn't big enough against me. I decided to add sari ribbon and some wired ribbon to try to make it look a mix of shabby chic and uch 'meatier' but it hasn't worked. Might end up literally getting a load of cut flowers the day before and tying with loads of colour co-ordinated pieces of sari ribbon.

I wanted some kind of long scarf to put over my shoulder (think how they use on in highland dress) and after searching tonnes had 2 delivered from india etsy. Have also bought some XL kilt pins to pin it under the coat collar and then to hook it into the edge of the coat on the day. It needs reducing in size - it is a sari and is 5 yards long and about 4 times too wide! Should be an easy enough job to literally cut and stitch.

Need a brooch to hide the waist kilt pin.

    Handfasting ceremony:

I HAVE MY DRESS!!!!!!!!!!:j:beer:After a bit of a meltdown, Pepe just gently said I could have whatever I wanted - it didn't matter and I really needed to stop trying to dress myself for less than £100!!!!! So off we went back to the amazing About a Bride in Bletchley and they had the 2 on my short list from last time. Pepe made himself scarce at the local hardware shop and I tried both on again with their full length coat. They both were still just as lovely.....and then they offered me the more expensive one at the same price as the cheaper one as it was my size !!!:T:j:beer: I was stunned and sooooo pleased as it was slightly more my favourite. And it is wine and so similar to the Sonsie one I drooled after, got for £100 and then realised I would never get into!!! I've ordered a black full length coat to go over it , paid rush service and that should be here the end of August. the dress is too long but I will take that to the sewing shop also. God, I love it.........:D

I bought a traditional wedding dupatta to wear as a scaf over my shoulder but it is too red so I've ordered a different scarf today. The red one will be used to drape over furniture when we move to Portugal next year.

Crown arrived from Etsy and it looks great. It is pieces of autumn leaf on a wire frame and then varnished over so they stay in place and the original colour.

Need some basic black shoes and a brooch so I can do the same over the shoulder thing with this outfit.

Handfasting priest/priestess: A good move in the events there. I re-contacted the lady who runs the county pagan group and she messaged the chap with our phone number and she tracked the message on her forum as we hadn't heard a thing. Still nothing.....so I started to dig and found 3 people on a druid website. I emailed them yesterday and 2 have offered already to be our celebrant :D

Invititations: Mum is all geared up to do them in the next few weeks. As we are only inviting close family there isn't the big push to get them out ages before hand.

Although the bridal coat from About a Bride was more expensive thant the one I've got from china, it ended up costing the same really because of me getting the dress at such a reduced price. I don't know if I would have got such a good deal if I had just been there for the dress...and although the one I have is great, I'm not sure I could go through the stress of another 7 weeks of wondering if the second one would be as good as the first - some chinese dress sellers are a bit up and down with quality it seems and I decided to stop whilst the going was good!!

My niece isn't going to get a dress for her bridesmaid outfit until later in the summer. She is 10 and is getting taller by the second. As we have said she can wear whatever she wants and she has a load of goth/steampunk type ideas, whatever she chooses will be a quick delivery of a stock item from somewhere.

    Think that is about it!!

    PHEW!! :rotfl::rotfl:
