What to do?
I'd wait till after the honeymoon for the official 'thank you', as it's a gift for your wedding so your than you note can refer to what a nice day you had and what you used the money towards. If it's a close friend/family member that you're likely to see in the meantime, you can thank them in person.
Also, did you ask for money in your invitations or have people just sent it?0 -
Thing is it is not a close friend or family (Best Mans parents/ OH family friend) but it was very generous.
Think we will wait for after, n just see if a message can be passed along or something. It should be OH job that one anyway! :rotfl:

hello all,
we've asked for contributions to our Honeymoon and so far we've had someone give us money already - it was my uncle so i sent him a thank you card saying what we were doing and then i'm going to send another one out once we've been on honeymoon/booked it (not decided yet) as an additional thank you.
we've had another uncle buy us a gift which he will be giving us on the day - not sure what it is and no gift list so we'll wait and see what it is
I'm just starting to think about hair and make-up now. You all seem so organised so i've had a mini panic and am going to arrange appointments this week.
we've has about 10 rsvp's so far - I have so say having all the invites out and starting to get these all back is a massive relief!
if anyone is interested i've found loads of amazing hand made things from https://www.etsy.com - really great website - abit like ebay but much more crafty.2014

We asked for contributions for our honeymoon too, we used honeyfund, and I have found it really great.
People buy you experiences with the money, but it is up to you to actually book/ do the experience. For our thank you cards we r goin to use photos of us actually doing the thin that they brought us- that's the plan anyway!

First invites are out! Just need to get them back now (hopefully soon so I know what numbers I'm dealing with). Need to put deposits down on a couple of things, but I bank with the RBS group so having problems with my account . Also looking at accessories for BMs and another part of their gifts so getting to waste time at work on the internet.
How's everyone else getting on?0 -
Ah that sucks about the bank. I felt sure I wouldn't have been paid as my work is bound to use Natwest- but I did so it didn't!
luckily we don't have any payments due out until July anyway- so OK there too.
I have had my PD2 firm returned to me, so just new to sign my passport form and send it off after 6th July. Want to get OHs back first though, as we did our own photos and I want to check it was OK. OH said he thinks the money has gone from his account though, so
My mum an sister got their shoes yesterday, which is brill (mums a size 3, n sis narrow feet- so glad it was quite easy).
We got some stuff for our honeymoon on Sat- even though it's not booked yet!! we went to a watersports shop and got snorkelling stuff, which we can also use for SCUBA.We know where we are goig, but still have to wait for leave to be confirmed... *sigh* bring on August! :rotfl:

Ooh, I tried to send my passport renewal form on Saturday but I've been told that I need to get my picturee signed as I dont look like the old me!
Jo, where did your sis go for narrow shoes? One of my BM's has narrow feet and is a size 7. I cant think of anyone on the high street who does a narrow range.0
