Avoiding the shops in April - The NSD Challenge

So yesterday was no 19, but today ended up being spendy, due to treating OH to nice lunch as he was working super hard building a wall in the garden. He did deserve it so I don't mind too much. Still got another 2 days to nab the last one in though.
Have a good evening everyone.

Hello everyone - I'm admitting defeat for April:mad: - nearly got there but I did think it was going to be difficult with the amount of birthdays I have during the month! (probably should've set a lower target). I'm not organised enough to buy them all in one go so have had many LSDs.
I did however manage 3 in a row which was a 1st for me so it's not all been bad.
Congratulations to everyone who's reached/exceeded their target & commiserations to those who haven't quite made it - May will be a new month for us to try again.
Took DM shopping to town today and bought some much needed new underwear - have been feeling guilty since I got home until I realised that it's the first time I've bought any clothing this year so feeling a teeny bit better now.Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

BDNI - RAM is the memory. It's what your processor uses - like fuel for a car - to make the programs run.
Graphics card - it makes all the pretty colours and pictures and things stay all lovely.
Windows 7 - Operating system (OS). This is the bare bones of the machine, and you need this to turn it on and make things work.
It won't be just me, my dad'll help too LOL
BTW, just posted this on the May thread. I've had 75 NSDs already this year. That's 2 and a half MONTHS no spending and we're not halfway through.** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

Evening all - haven't had a chance to catch up fully tonight yet however (and rest assured there is no favouritism in the posts I have caught up on...it's just I've read some and now REALLY need another cuppa)
Suzie - I guess in a way it's good that OH has a redundancy date soon. My OH took redundancy from a job several years ago and they dragged it out over about 18mths, although on one hand it was nice to have the period to look for other things/security etc etc, by the end of it he was well and truely fed up, just wanted out and was virtually the last person turning the lights off before the factory was pulled down. Redundnacy isn't nice but in experience it generally in a round about way works out ok, and it sounds like you're in a fortunate position with the extra hours come Sept. I'm sure you'll both adjust just fine x
Jints - good news about the car - and that puss is a lot better now, bless him
Spoony - yes, that's exactly what I meant last night...my eyebrows are off to open a shop on their ownhee hee! There was something else I was going to say to you...but I've totally forgotten it now...:o
BDINI - you sound like you just need one of these ... :grouphug:
AND...news from me is that I have clocked up NSD #14 so hit target at last! :j:j
..oh that was what I was going to say Spoon - yes, going to check out the discount stores for sun cream, want to ensure it's got good UVA and UVB protection though (and would be nice to get one that smells like the well known brand that smells very coconutty...mmmmm)Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

Had a late trip to Mr T - only been home about an hour !!
Spent 'rather a lot' in store, but the majority of the spend was stuff I need for running, namely one hydration kit (for those that don't know what I'm on about it's a small backpack with an internal 'bladder' you fill with water, and then you drink from a hose type straw than runs through one of the straps - much better than carrying bottles of water on long runs), a coolbag (for taking post-run snacks when driving to a venue as I am both days this weekend), and a replacement (and fairly expensive) set of headphones for my iP0d (lost count of how many sets I've got through, but this one had better last longer than it's identical predecessor) as I really need one with an in-line control piece for long runs when I carry my larger iP0d in a bumbag (so can't access the volume, pause or skip functions easily) instead of taking my baby one which clips onto clothing. Also picked up a magazine on running which is aimed at women, and will peruse that over the next week or so.
After the talk about suncream earlier today, I decided I'd better see if I could pick some up at a reasonable price given I'm now running in full sun (recently got a face cream - something I've never used before - which contains sunscreen, but doesn't actually say what strength!). Plumped for Mr T's value one in the end, and also picked up their own label lipstick type one as my lips are getting very dry when out running.
Then I picked up a few bits and pieces from the grocery sections - mostly pickles and sauces I'm running low on, but also some value scones alongside a tub of whipping cream (already have jam in the house, so that's my 'carrot' to try and get me to run a decent mileage on Saturday) and a new type of instant coffee (which was expensive even on half price, but having tried it once I got home I have to admit it's very nice... but it will remain one to pick up only when on offer, which shouldn't be an issue as I don't generally drink much coffee anyway)
Then over to the filling station for liquid gold - and wasn't impressed at the cost to refill  I can remember easily filling my tank from empty for around £40, but tonight (when it was still a quarter full) it cost me exactly £50  The problem with doing low mileage (and not having to fill up very often) is that I don't see the fuel price rises a penny or two at a time, but in huge jumps each time I need to buy someCheryl0 -
NSD 12 yesterday for me. There's still a possibility I might get another in the next couple of days.
This has been my first month doing this and I've really enjoyed it. Thanks everyone

Haven't updated this for a while, but managed to snaffle 2 NSD's this week which means I have reached my target - YAY!!! :j:j:j:T
I might even catch another one by the end of the month or even 2 if I'm VERY strict with myself :rotfl: so there may be an update on this by Sundaybut don't hold your breath please!!
Have gone for a few more in May just to see whether I can manage!
Well done to all of those that have managed their targets:T and don't get downhearted those that haven't, I didn't make mine last month but have seen it as more of a challenge this month to make it!

Morning all
Just an update...reached my 14/14...I think that will be it as tomorrow is the end of month. I need to pop to shop either today or tomorrow but as all my brood are here it could be both.
