....the house is full to overflowing with food, including a pack of 18 loo rolls....Think I'll stick to SANDWICHES thank you; not entirely sure I'd enjoy the fillings if it were not between two slices of bread
Spoon, if you park the Tardis somewhere near the Abbey then meet up with Igor by the camping stove and barbecue, he can use your guillotine hat to chop the carrots. Don't ask me what he's using carrots in, but burgers and doughnuts were mentioned at one point. And talking of guillotines, I hear that BigMumma will be sat in her deckchair, knitting away as the happy couple walk out of the Abbey whilst other NSD gang members shout Vive La Republique as they storm the prison. Trouble is, Wormwood Scrubs doesn't sound as romantic as the Bastille.

Now off to find my tricolour flag oops I mean Union flag.
I know I talk of having grown children, but I'm wondering what image you have of me--you've had me sitting in a deck chair twice in the last few pages!
And the Union Jack is made up of three colours so tricolour is an appropriate description :rotfl:

More details please? I've heard garlic is supposed to be a deterrent but there's only so many meals you can hide it in...
....Was hugely positive earlier, i decided that i don't hate my job (just certain individuals!), that i genuinely believed in the support my manager has been giving me & that future developments were looking bright & i feel like i have a secure & exciting future (security is quite rare in the voluntary sector!) :T Duncha juss luvvit when that happens..the feeling positive bit?
Then i heard from a close friend of mine that her dad had died (a huge shock as they only found out he was ill a week ago) & from another friend that her relationship had ended & she will be alone with 2 small boys, she is understandably devastated & terrified (& i was actually worried that she may do something to herself), so not sure how i am feeling now. More than understandable, comes with the territory :(

I know i should feel honoured that people trust me enough to come to me with these things, but all i could think is how much i miss my best friend who died 4 years ago, it's always the wierdest times it gets to me!!!

Oh well rant over, i am happy & healthy (well mostly), i have all of you lot to moan too & therefore i am blessed!!

Bed now i think, tomorrow is another day!! :D
There was a stupid part in a programme I was watching yesterday & I couldn't stop the tears :o Don't ask me what the connection was--I haven't a clue!--but I realised I was thinking of my father, father-in-law & brother-in-law who have passed at various intervals. Ma-in-law was a strong woman & when I think of her, I feel my backbone straigtening with resolve :D but memories arrive in the midst of the most random situations.
As for having us to bounce off, you are there for us too so Quits Okay? Hi-5! :j

I'm on no 17 as of yesterday & with various Offspring on leave now, it looks like the next 10 days or so are going to be O-key Co-key...don't know who's in, who's out but suspect by the time it's over, it will be my nerves shaking it all about *nervous twitch*

Thank you so much everyone for your good wishes :D
I suppose we have known since December, so we've had a while to get to grips with the idea, however now we know when it's happening it's so much more real. And more scary!
It might sound as though we are organised, but I can't imagine it all happening!! The thought of handing over responsibility for cooking is one I will struggle with- not that DH isn't a good cook- it just seems odd! Luckily there can be a gradual transition between the end of May and the beginning of september when I start work full time. I will keep you updated on how it all goes!!!

Anyway, I am cautiously optimistic- luckily I am a naturally optimistic person!!!

As an aside, NSD#14 for me today :D

Well bit of a quiet one today, is everyone off trying on their hats for tomorrow i wonder??? (or maybe stocking up on a nice square meal before Igor's slightly dodgy offerings :rotfl:)

Lots of NSDs rolling in today, so well done to:

:j:j jintyb – well done for number 19, sorry the car went over budget today, but still it does sound like you have a gem of a mechanic there!! & so glad all seems good with puss now :D

:j:j donna dynamo – well done for 16, just 1 more to get now!! Glad DD2 is much better now.

:j:j thrifty fifty – Well done for 11!! Chicken pie sounds really yummy!!

    :j:j chris81418 – well done for 22, you’re having another great month!!

:j:j BigMummaF – Well done for number 17!! I reckon I might have to take a sneaky peek at the dress too, but other than that I am thoroughly fed up with the whole thing (& the fact that public spending is being cut left, right & centre, but somehow there is enough money to pay for these shenanigans!!).

    :j:j kathy40uk – well done for number 13, you’re doing great!!

:j:j fenna - well done for number 13, you’re doing great!!

:j:j hannah:-) – well done for number 5, I’m glad you are feeling more positive about your total now, never forget that every NSD you get is a victory!!

:j:j slowlyfading – well done for number 14, you’re doing great!!

    :j:j Palema - well done for 15, you’ve had a great month!!

:j:j suzie wong - well done for number 14 & for staying optimistic!!

    And hello to:

elfen – great news on the CC payments, as for the rest of your news, sounds very technical, almost like another language (I only know what the on button & mouse is!!), but well done you for doing it yourself!

fedupandskint – as unplanned spends go, some fish for the freezer is pretty sensible, & you’ll use & enjoy it!

bottleofred – keep going, I’m sure you’ve got another one in you!!

LittleMissHappy – welcome back!! Good luck with catching your last one!!

cw18 – count me in, skint or not I would happily be there in a stupid costume!!

Nargleblast – Ooh yummy fresh eggs!! Glad chickie is settling in well!

Keiss 21 – elegant lady looks amazing Keiss!! Enjoy your weekend!

& as for me, i decided to take your advice Spoon & count yesterday as a NSD, so i've hit target!! Think i might squeeze one more in, but not going to up my target as i'm also hoping i might squeeze in a cheeky beer watching to football on Saturday!

Oh yes, sometimes i don't think i let it happen enough, then it does & i realise how much better being positive feels!!

But i must keep a sense of perspective - i'm supposed to listen to other people's problems, not take them on as my own!

    Definitely Hi 5!!
It's right what you said earlier about what a close bunch we are, & we are lucky to have that!!
& yes i agree, it is always the funniest times when memories come, but how lovely to have those memories where the feelings are still so strong they make you straighten your backbone & take a little of that person with you!!

Right off to polish my hat for tomorrow's outing!!

Oooh, garlic, now there's a thought! Might sneak that into the food bowl and see what they think of it. :D We have wooden floors and regularly wash all animal beds and rugs, keep dog coats short and combed. All our animals are pretty antisocial and keep themselves to themselves too so no chance of sharing guests with neighbours pets either. :rotfl: Sounds too simple to be true, but it's been good for ages and was a real shock to have one of the dogs start scratching! It's too much of a coincidence that it started the day he went to the groomers :(
