That--if I'm not mistaken
--sounds like a 'they wouldn't really do that.._pale_..would they?' kind of panic-stricken Challenge!
I would actually love to head around a corner and be greeted by a sight like that - especially in the latter part of the course, as the giggles it would give me should be more than enough to keep me going to the endCheryl0 -
Um, might be stupid question, but what's DTD?
NSD #5
Ok, I know that's still miles off target with only two days left to go in the month (at least one of which will be a spendy), but feeling moreabout my total than I was at the start of the week.

Um, might be stupid question, but what's DTD?
Mr T was doing a promotion where if their products were more expensive than Mr A they would give you double the difference (DTD) but from noon today they are only giving the difference...so no more free food / wine etc

We have just heard that DH's redundancy date is the end of May!!!
That might sound bad, but it was actually what he wanted, as he has very little work, and it means he will get 18 months pay, and there is no danger of his department being taken over and him being asked to relocate (which he wouldn't do).
However, it is suddenly very real and scary. It means I will definitely be going full time at school in september(), and that DH will take over the cooking(:o), cleaning (:T), school runs etc. In other words, a complete change of lifestyle for us. It will take a bit of adjustment for all of us.
There is also the issue of me trying to clear my debts as quickly as I can, within reason. At my present rate it will take about 5 years, but in september my salary will double, and although I will take on responsibility for some of the household bills that I currently pay, I will also be able to throw more at the debts. I won't need to pay for before school care and after school clubs anymore either, which will help.
I know this has absolutely nothing to do with NSDs, but I needed to tell someone, and this is the thread that I talk most on
Ooooh- I feel a bit scared......
Yikes Suze! A bit scary, yes, but it sounds as though you've got the situ well thought through. Sometimes a shakeup can be a good thing....although it doesnt feel like it at the time ifyswim.
You know we're all here for you m'dear - I know what you mean, I rant on here about lots of things -it's not always all about NSD's!;) ((((hugs)))
The car is back from it's service, but I was over budget by £1.02 - boo! So no claiming of NSD Im afraid.I will be looking at Saturday for the next one as it's grocery shopping tomorrow. However the mechanic was great, he sorted my seized up brake pads and and although it was an hour's labour for that, he didnt charge as he said he hadnt quoted it in the cost he gave me over the phone prior to picking it up.Cool eh?
you will always be rich enough to be generous.0 -
CW - if you are in next year's marathon, we will be there with you in spirit, courtesy of Spoony's Tardis! That will be one of our major day trips out for 2012, and we promise not to let Hubert litter the course with his usual detritus - as long as you take your turn with the shovel.....
Suzie - at least you have a definite calendar of events and can start to plan out your new lifestyle. And of course start chucking extra cash at those debts. The Old Style forum will have lots of ideas for you about living on a tight budget, and I am sure if you post a question about how to organise repaying debts on the DFW forum, you will get lots of help. The usual idea is to attack the debt that has the highest interest rate first whilst making minimum repayments on the others, then when that's paid off turn to the one with the next highest interest rate and so on. And of course the more NSDs you collect the better. Bring it on, girl, bring it on!
BigMumma - I see you've got the knitting needles out ready - we could do a good line in knit-your-own guillotines for those people who don't support the royals...though I think we have missed our window of opportunity here. Unless you are a lightning knitter?
Well, not a NSD for me today - we have got a new chicken to keep our other one company and of course provide more eggs. Which she did, as a matter of fact, within an hour of arriving here. And at the moment the two of them are sat in the henhouse together not tearing great lumps out of each other, which is a good sign.
Hope to get another NSD tomorrow seeing as the travel (Tardis Express) will be free and Igor will be doing the catering. On second thoughts, perhaps I had better take some sarnies - peanut butter and bacon, anyone? One life - your life - live it!0 -

(((((((((((((((((((((big hugs))))))))))))))))))) Suzie, but glad you feel you can share it with us
To echo what others have said, you sound really organised & like you have a plan in place to manage the situation, which you should be proud of!!
It is scary though, i totally understand that, but keep on going & just shout when you need our support!!February NSD challenge 5/150 -
solventsoon wrote: »OK, BDINI, so good news that you don't hate your job any longer, your manager (who you previously disliked) is being supportive and you feel as though you have a secure and exciting future - all positives there:j:j
You should feel honoured by the trust people place in you and they do that because you're a lovely and trustworthy person, otherwise they wouldn't. Listening to people's problems and worrying about them is a real strain and at those times you're bound to miss your close friend as she would have been there to support and listen to you. We're never going to take the place of your friend, but we'll always listen and give you any support we can, so you're not alone. xx
Dunno about blessed with having us lot around:D but we'll always be there for you.
((((((hugs))))))) and hope you feel a bit better tomorrow.
spoon xxBDINI - if you werent such a nice person, folks wouldnt feel comfortable sharing their feelings with you. You're right, we're all here to be a sounding board for each other! Thanks guys, you are all brilliant & totally logical & totally right!!!
Feel much better today so thank youFebruary NSD challenge 5/150 -
Suzy, hope things work out well for you and your OH.
I have had a few major changes in my "working" career, so although it is scary, it does give you the chance to head off into a different direction, which you may not have planned.
Don't think of it as one door closing...but as many doors opening and offering you lots of opportunities to try something different...good luck to you both.
I've been spending some money the past two days, as well as being busy at work. Hopefully I will nab a couple of NSDs the last two days of April, and reach my second target. Perhaps I can make the whole weekend NSD...you never know!! We certainly have enough food in the house,so no need to go out for nibbles.

:hello:
Hi all NSDers xxxx
Popping in quickly to declare number 13 before I go to work (no purse) so can get through today. Got to make these next 3 days count :rotfl:
Great to hear you feeling positive about work BDINI, gives me hope, sorry to hear about your friends but they have you to give them a shoulder and a hug and that kind of true friendship is a priceless thing.
Will try to pop in later to catch up with the chat
:hello:
Not sure this will help when you're having a bad day at work Kathy, but you have to trust that things happen for a reason & that whatever is best for you is just round the corner. 2 months ago i would have rolled my eyes at that & not believed it in the slightest, but sometimes the hardest thing to do is have patience & believe!
You are clearly a talented & caring individual with skills that make you a valuable employee & there is a reason why the agency job didn't come off for you, i have everything crossed that the reason is because something much better is just round the corner!!
& in the meantime rant to us as much as you like!!February NSD challenge 5/150 -
