    OK just did as per post #41 and it was all normal again so seems to be problem solved!

    Off to do the other stuff you suggested now.

    Hi All, I've followed steps 1-12 on the other thread and I think I've done all that was required. I may have left some things on because I was unsure about deleting/removing/disabling but my pc is working so much better now (as fast as the day I bought it) so I'm happy with what's left.

    Here are my stats now from the Task Manager when I rebooted (before loading anything else):

    you've got ctfmon, msn toolbar, javaupdate running, some file missings, free ride games installed

    it will run even better if you deal with them (steps 9,10,11,12), and install cleanmem/mini_monitor
