Hmmm, another very concerned user here.
Ordered a Sony camera mount adaptor last night and thought the site was ok until the verified by visa thing did not come up. Was bugging me today so did some more googling and found plenty to worry about. Paid be debit card and bank say they can't do anything until the money has been taken and the goods not arrive etc!
It is only 24hrs so I have to wait and see... would be nice to update something positive here but I have a very uneasy feeling about this... why didn't I pay the extra tenner and get it from amazon...Doh!0 -

Hi - Im the OP - I did actually get my money back in the end. (I was supposed to log in ages ago and tell everyone but forgot my password). Thanks for all the advice guys. They also offered me some vouchers that never turned up.
There is no reason why I would ever shop with them again. Far to slow in responding/processing but quick to take your money.
Avoid paying debit card.
You have to be very patient with these people. Once your goods arrive - forget them and never go back. Always stick with the big guys amazon, dabs, etc. even if you have pay more.
Im sure it will turn up at some point.0 -
Well checked back on edock today (strangely my stuff hasn't arrived in the 24/48 hr delivery period!!) to find this message:
Customer Notice.
This message applies to all customers who placed orders between 11/07/2011 and 25/07/2011.
We have recently experienced massive data loss resulting in delayed orders, failed refunds and RMA requests (Damages and returns). This data includes order details and delivery addresses. This problem has affected our ability to update order statuses and has caused major delays to most orders placed between 11th July 2011 and 25th July 2011.
All orders wil be completed by Monday 1st, please be aware that although orders are shipped your order status will remain on "processing". If you have any further questions in relation to this please contact: admin@edock.tv.
Please note: All orders placed after 26th July 2011 have not been affected and will be processed as normal. Orders made through google checkout are not affected by this. If you have any questions about your order please contact: cs_team@edock.tv
Thank you
Customer Support Team
I guess we'll just have to wait and see, I'm hoping it'll all arrive fine if a little slow, and we chalk it up to experience... maybe we are spoiled by the amazon/dabs experience... just not used to poor service these days!!0 -
So.....
Still no stuff, and what would you know they've charged me twice! Great, so now I'm waiting for one (poss two) things to arrive and for a refund ! FML as they say!0 -
I ordered a graphics card from them on Saturday 23rd July - with the money taken from my account on 26th July - which hasn't arrived and so have emailed them about the same today since I have had no luck contacting them by phone (its either a dead line, engaged or rings off). Will sit tight - in the light of info in Ijl_ Holford posts - and see if goods arrive in the next week and what if any response I get to my email. Since I paid £167 by Visa Debit I'll look to get my money back by the Visa Chargeback Scheme, a process I'll initiaite next Friday if nothing heard. Lesson learned, in future I'll stick with the likes of Amazon and Scan and if if means paying a little more then so be it for peace of mind, since no likes feeling that they might have been had which I do at present.
2/08/11 - Spoke to my Bank today (the Cooperative) and am raising a dispute under the Visa Chargeback Scheme. If the goods turn up in the meantime great but I now have little expectation that they will and I wanted to get things moving since further researching of this company makes for depressing reading to say the least.0 -
Waiting with bated breath to see how you get on Praxis99. My daughter is currently over £300 out of pocket to Edock.tv with absolutely no response to our enquiries. The annoying thing is she is convinced that she didn't actually complete the transaction after checking up on these people as she got no order confirmation, and yet she got an email two days later saying her product was on it's way, and the deduction was made from the bank. Needless to say nothing has turned up, and there have been no further emails from them. She paid with a Visa Debit card so we are hoping to tackle the bank next although when she spoke to them a few days after the money was taken from her account they insisted she needed to wait 30 days.0

Scats1814 the call centre adviser I spoke too at my bank (the Cooperative) who was well aware of the Visa Chargeback scheme said nothing to me about the need to wait 30 days. She gave me the address of the banks Disputes Team and asked that I either fax or post them the details as to my Chargeback claim directly (including a copy of the email confirming my order). I'll now have to wait and see how long its takes to process since this is the first time in 9 yrs of my buying over the net that I have ever had a problem with goods not been received.
I also made a complaint to Trading Standards and emailed PC Pro since I am sure they will be interested as to why a PC Pro Awards 2010 winners logo is been displayed at the foot of Edocks website when I can find no evidence of them ever been listed in any catagory on PC Pro's website.
While its no real consolation to your daughter she is certainly not alone in this. Just hope that we all get a satisfactory resolution. In future the first thing I'll do if ordering from an unfamilair website is check that they have a trading address, ring their helpline and see if anyone answers! and google them to see what others think. In fact even if they check out after this experience I still probably wont buy from them and just stick to the tried and tested.0 -
Sorry to hear there are others out there suffering from these people.
I still have received nothing and no refund. No emails answered, no telephone numbers work.
My bank (Lloyds) have told me I have to wait three weeks before they can start getting getting my money back for non-delivery of goods and 17 days under Visas rules for sorting out the duplicate charge issue! Weird how all the banks seem to have a different attitude to this considering it's all visa, and very annoying that I now have to wait so long without being able to have the product I needed two weeks ago!
I will be phoning the bank back on the 12th to start whatever it is I have to start to sort this mess out.
Grrrrrrrrrr!!!0 -
Took a look at their website again earlier today and noticed they were using Google Checkout (saying there was a problem with their own payment systems). Knowing that the company's address should be shown at the checkout stage I thought this an ideal opportunity to find out where they actually are. Put something in the cart and checked out, the address given for the company been:
edock, edock House, 322 Preston New Rd, Blackburn BB2 7AQ GB
From Google Streetview their 'Head Office' appears to be a large semi-detached surburban house (nice area by the looks of it!). Nevertheless thought I'd pass the info on since it might be useful for the purposes of sending a formal demand (by registered post) to the company should other avenues of financial redress fail.0 -
Interesting - might be useful if we have to take legal action. Husband works for a solicitors, so are armed and ready.
Daughter went to the bank today and got them to start to process of trying to get her money back. She did have to explain to them about the Visa Chargeback Scheme which was not entirely unexpected, but they have "filled in a form", so now we wait!0
