DSRs only apply to traders from the EU, it would appear that OP recieved his goods from outside the EU, so no DSRs.

It does when the are shipped to the customer from China by a Chinese company.

In addition, the badly written response from the company suggests that it's not a UK operation.

On post 13 it has a Blackburn address and a UK mobile number, on the contact us page it has a UK 0844 number so I assume its a UK business dropshipping.

It looks like the goods were sent from Belgium by a Belgian shipping company:

It really depends on where the company is based. I assume that if the package was sent from Belgium, then the company is registered in Belgium, but perhaps "ellois lab" is a drop shipping agent for a Chinese company... who knows.

Just tell the card company that you want to claim against them and the details of the transaction (date/amount) and let them sort it out. If they ask, just say you assumed it was a UK-based company based on the info on their website - which is true (or was when you ordered). Then keep your fingers crossed!

Will barclays try to contact edock.tv?

Probably - if they have to pay out to you, then they're going to want to make sure they get their money back and make sure the seller doesn't make a habit of breaking sales contracts - maybe they'll revoke the permission for the shop to accept credit cards. But that's not your problem. :)

The website owner appears to be UK-based, that's true. Hang on... hang on... Sean Wingad? I knew that name rang a bell:

Maybe it would be a good idea to pass his contact details (from the link above) to the credit card company too. Perhaps he runs the website, takes the orders and payments and passes them on to the foreign company.

Well I was a bit lazy contacting barclays - probably as they don’t have an email. I was able to send a short email by logging into my account (sadly it would not accept copy paste, had to type it all out again).

They emailed me back only to say call them up.

I was too lazy to call them up.

    But then edock emailed me!

' Upon further investigation of the case regarding your request for a refund, it has become apparent to us that you are in fact entitled to a refund minus cost of carriage.
This mistake was made by us and we send our deepest apologies for the upset this may have caused.
We are prepared to make a collection of the item at your leisure, Please advise us of the most suitable time?'

Not sure why they changed their minds, but they did. Do you think Barclays contacted them? Email was signed by Mr S.W. himself.

This minus carriage has got me worried - I did not pay for carriage, it was free. Do you think they will charge me to collect? I don’t mind paying £10, but what if it’s a trick and they charge me £50. Normally you post things back yourself, unless it's a big company. I'm expecting £219.78 back.

I reckon Sean has Googled himself and was horrified to see this post near the top of the results and wants to ensure that anyone reading it hears about the "positive outcome" to give his company a veneer of credibility. Of course that's pure conjecture!

If I remember rightly, companies must refund the full price and outgoing P&P charges for items returned under the DSRs, but are entitled to make you pay the return costs IF AND ONLY IF they make that clear at the point of sale.

Anyway, congratulations on the offer of a refund - I hope it actually appears and you aren't left out of pocket.

    True.
Sadly they are very slow by nature and that's not just for complaints.

Before my item arrived, I was trying to track my order. My order was not showing up on their system in my orders. I tried emailing, Web form, Ringing - Nothing. I even thought it must be a bogus site. Tried to call again and to my surprise someone picked up and told me when my order might be arriving.

Then when it came to trying to get a refund - same thing again. No one picks the phone, or calls back.

I doubt I will get a reply by Friday.

Should I Just wait patiently now? I was them nudging everyday.

And I read that link for section 75 - even they can try to get out of it and u have to call upon financial ombudsman. Are they scary?
Hey Just been reading your thread regarding edock.tv and I need your help, did you say you have a number for them??

I have tried the number on the site and the mobile (that you found aswell) and both are blank, I placed an order with them saturday and just thought this morning "il give them a call to see how its going" this is when the dark cloud started to loom it seems after researching a bit this is a fly by night company and am getting concerned for my money and if the item I order will ever come.

If you have a number I will be eternally greatful.

    Regards

They are very slow in responding to email - to the point you might think you have been had. All you can do now is be patient and hope your item eventually arrives.

As for the phone number, the one that I got trough to once, after trying scores of times and leaving messages all the time (they never called back) was 0844 567 9061. You will be very lucky to get them I think.

I can't say the company is a scam site, as in grab your money and run - but their c.s is outrageous. Response time abysmal.

We have all been spoilt by sites that are automated, easy tracking info and returns process.

Today at 11am I finally got an email with the address to send the item back - I'm posting it back tomorrow. Check my previous posts for the time stamps and you will see how slow they are in responding.

    In his email he said
'I am glad we could close this case amicably'.

I will not believe anything till I see my money back in my account.

Try to log into your account and see the tracking info. Mine was blank, so dont be afraid if you dont see any info listed. They are real rubbish.

What did you buy from them? What is the value?
