It is from edock, which appears to be a UK site, yes.One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Think its gonna be a fight, the website has no proper address which i think is also illegal
The address off the WHOIS is just a residential address http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=bb24rn+&aq=&sll=52.994926,-0.397136&sspn=0.0101,0.032058&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Blackburn+BB2+4RN,+United+Kingdom&ll=53.722679,-2.506964&spn=0.009929,0.032058&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=53.724326,-2.509531&panoid=normbqV527RM9owyB6IhdA&cbp=12,60.24,,0,9.88

Ah - looks like I've been sitting here too long and missed the last few posts before I replied. The link on the OFT website I mentioned points to the same document that halibut2209 mentioned - "A guide for businesses on distance selling"It cant be too late – the first email was sent out on Monday. Today is Wednesday, it’s not a week yet (and I don’t think weekends count)
You have seven working days in which to inform the seller that you want to return the goods under the DSRs, not seven days to return them. See section 3.27 in the OFT guide:
3.27 The effective date for cancellations under the DSRs is the date on which the consumer gives notice of cancellation to you.
If they complain that you've opened the packaging so it's not "as new", there's another bit in the OFT guide that might be of interest:
Can I insist that consumers who cancel an order within the cancellation period return the goods as new or in their original packaging?
3.58 No. Consumers are under a duty to take reasonable care of the goods...0 -
To answer an earlier question, as long as the transaction was over £100 (which I think it must be), then Barclaycard are equally liable so you could go through them after trying through the seller
EDIT: Of course it's over £100, it says so in the bloomin' thread title!!!!One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0 -

At least it was paid for with a credit card so if the seller doesn't refund, a section 75 claim shouldn't prove too difficult.0

Interesting... I can't find a record of them at Companies House either - just "EDOCK LIMITED" from Tadworth, Surrey, that was dissolved several years ago.
I seems like there are quite a few disgruntled customers if the Webutation website is to be believed.
One person mentioned that the TV he ordered was sent from France, so maybe they're not a UK company. If so, then at least they're in the EU, but prosecuting them at a French court under French law might be tricky...0 -
I think it is going to be a heck of a job tracking them down.0

What they do actually state about returns is in fact illegal
You are not required to return the goods within 7 days, simply inform them that you want to return the goods within 7 working days (beginning the day after delivery), and they can not refuse a refund because the packaging has been opened.
Simply inform them that you are cancelling under the terms of the DSR's, and that if they refuse to refund you in full then you will have no option but to contact Trading standards and ask them to take action.
Thanks for the info. Shaun. I have included both items (DSR + Trading Standards)0 -
