Incidentally, the website is full of typos. Must not be able to afford to get 'Web Elementary' to amend.
  • Hello everyone

I'm looking for a bit of moral support after receiving a second letter from UKCPS today...in my case they have jumped straight from letter 1 shown in the letters listings (pay us £100) to letter 4 (settle today for £120) from court proceedings ltd. I wasn't driving, and in fact am not licensed to drive under the conditions the ticket was issued under...but following advice on this forum I have entered into no correspondence and have not informed UKCPS of this. Being a law abiding citizen, I am feeling threatened by their claims that they will pursue me through court. In addition, the address they have for me is not mine, but a family member's and I do not want my family member to suffer any further harassment on my account... :( AAaaaarrrh!

    Thanks for any help!

Just keep ignoring. They don't know the identity of the driver, so they cannot priced any further. In the case of UKCPS be very careful if you receive any private messages via this forum. The company has been known to use this tactic to try and establish the identity of the driver.

Also, "Court Proceedings Ltd" no longer have a credit licence.

So how can they operate without one ? Thought it was a requirement
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

This from a posting by HO87 from another thread about this company:-

There is a clear connection between UKCPS and Court Proceedings Ltd in that they share a common officer/director/shareholder in the shape of Mr Deegan. If they are part of the same "group" then CPL would not require a CCA licence to collect UKCPS's debts.

However, as I have posted elsewhere, running a parallel debt collection business and failing to make the connection between the entities clear to customers/debtors may be a risky strategy as OPC recently discovered at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court. Remember the connection between OPC and Windsor-Smythe?

CPL did file an application for a CCA licence in August 2010 but this was closed by the OFT ("made of no effect") on 8 March 2011. Such withdrawals most commonly occur when applications are incomplete and further information is not forthcoming. That is not to say that this is the only reason for such action being taken but no explanation is provided in the register.

To put it simply UKCPS and Court Proceedings [silly name] are probably one off the same. The same person seems to be the main share holder in both companies.

However whoever owns them ignore them both.
  • Ok thanks for that...

Guess what guys - today I received letter number 2! Will keep you all updated... oh, and although letter 1 said 'too late to pay at the reduced rate' number 2 says.. 'its not too late to send in reduced amount'...LOL

    Such professionals ....
