    I am thoroughly enjoying it FB, and no one is more shocked than me :rotfl: This is the longest I have stuck rigidly to a diet in my life, and actually I am finding it easy. It will probably be even easier for you as you only have to please yourself, and sometimes I just CBA'd cooking two meals and end up having cheese and nuts for dinner, which I shouldn't. I am using Rose Elliot's low carb diet, I think it was £8 on Amazon. This week meals have been;

Monday B- yoghurt with almonds and linseeds; L - Cauliflower cheese; D - salad with Halloumi
TuesdayB- scrambled egg, sausage mushroom and tomato; L - Salad with Feta; D - Asparagus with cheese and salad
Wed B - 3 egg omelette with cheese; L - Salad with tofu and pumpkin seeds; D - Portobello mushrooms with cheese and garlic topping and salad.

It took some getting used to, not to be buying low fat stuff, and to use cream in things, and you are not meant to have milk in your tea, but I would kill if I didn't have tea, and its been fine for me. As you know I have a lot of weight to lose, but have dropped just shy of 20lbs since March 1st. I don't expect to lose this much every month but it has been a nice boost. :)

Ooh sounds interesting. I think I'll look at getting the book. Now I'm feelign better i was going to restart Slimming World next week (at home), but although SW does work for me, I get bored with it and don't like some of the stuff they encourage you to eat - LF yogurts, diet drinks, alpen light bars etc.

    Evening All

First chance to sit down on the computer today. Had a hospital appointment this morning and that took nearly 3 hours. Turns out not only do I have asthma I have COPD as well :(
Rheumotology consultant in 2 weeks and I have to ask him to send a report to the chest consultant because some forms of arthritis can affect the lungs. Bloomin' Heck! Talk about a creaking tree :rotfl:
Then when I got home DH was flapping that he couldn't find his CRB so it took me another couple of hours sorting out the file boxes but I found it :) plus I got all of the paperwork and filing up to date so now I know where everything is.

Hester I found the booklet from the CRB dept and it says that if you do not have a photo driving licence or a passport, other forms of I.D. such as you Birth certificate are perfectly acceptable and if you want me to post it to you just PM me your address then you can stick it in front of the officious little cow's face

NPM...... NEVER EVER feel that you are failing Noah:eek:
I think that you are a real star:A
Mainstream schools are just not good enough for children with severe forms of ASD. I really hope that you manage to get him into a school that is geared to his needs x ((((((((Hugs)))))))

halight I hope that you manage to get an early appointment with your consultant ((((((huggles)))))

Just watched that super scrimpers thought it was quite good

Oh well I am off to get my jammies on and grunge with a film before bed.
    sweet dreams all x

    Hello all,

Just back from swimming lesson 3 ( pleased with my progress so far) so haven't yet watched the scrimping programme, did remember to record it which in itself is a miracle...OH is watching something about the Irish in the American civil war....I hate and detest war so will not join him but will have to wait until he goes to bed to watch the recording.....I really could waffle for Ireland, sorry.

Did some shopping this morning....was in Dunnes but was so shocked by their prices that even OH wasn't tempted....give me Lidl or Aldi any day for quality and price.

In warfarin clinic this morning, really crowded, apparently there are more and more people on it but authorities can't/won't give any more time to the clinic which means that the nurses are flat out 8am to 12noon.

NPM...don't you dare suggest to me that you are anything but a wonderful mother! Hopefully the melatonin will help the poor mite to get more rest and cope better with all the difficult things he faces every day.

Lou....glad that your DS is showing improvement

Halight....take care of you, hopefully they will sort you out soon.

Have forgotten most of what I read this morning....hugs where appropriate.

Just had to take my precious hank of home-spun wool from Kerry, she thought it was a toy!!

Jackieg....what are you like?? That's what you get for trying to be so super-efficient. Congratulations on the weight loss, could do with losing that by 4 myself, very fond of my bread though so would have to really talk myself into it!

Need a cuppa badly so will say goodnight, sleep tight all

going to start contributing to this thread rather than just lurking so here goes:
Today is the start of my grocery challenge, I’m pretty frugal but I've started throwing allot of food away again through lack of organisation so I’m going to try and cut my budget and use up leftovers.
Today Me and DS had chicken and veg soup made with leftover chicken carcase and veg from Sunday lunch plus a can of chicken soup (my recipe for making it taste good!) had this with homemade bread
Pudding was the leftovers from an apple and blackberry crumble R made at weekend, our local heron sells frozen blackberries for 59p a bag, two of those plus a couple of bramleys makes a lovely mush for crumble.

I've currently got a Bara brith in the oven along with a chicken I picked up in Heron Foods. Plan on having roast chicken tomorrow for tea then use up leftovers in a Friday night curry.

woodturning stove now installed so burning up both the leftover logs form 2 winters ago when we only had an open fire (pre central heating) and loads of scrap wood from building renovation, walked along river and came back with 3 bags of fallen twigs for kindling, nice feeling to be getting 'free' heat (I know I paid for the logs two winters ago but right now they have no impact on my budget except meaning the gas won't be as high this month!

Stove makes a huge difference, in the evenings I can have the central heating on for an hour to warm up the bedrooms before DS goes to bed, and then if I get cold I light the stove rather than central heating for the whole house.

Tommorrow i'm hoping for a NSD except I owe DS school £1.50 for a school thing :(
DEBT: £500 credit card £800 Bank overdraft
    £14 Weekly food budget

Agree with you sistercas re superscrimpers, really for people who haven't a clue ( been there, done that)....think it was Juliette who seemed to be sporting her safety/kilt pin so if you are out there own up please!

    Welcome to OS halia.
