Hi, this is the Daily Thread for wednesday 30th. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Good Morning Halight & all to follow, hope you get on ok at the doc's today.

Not been on here last couple of days, did a little bit of gardening sunday afternoon, sunday evening my back went :o. Spent monday lying down as that was the only comfortable position. Yesterday was a little better and had to go out with OH to move lorries around. Had to walk everywhere very slowly.

Today it is a little better. I am now very behind with all my work so will be locking myself in my office all day. Havn't done any ironing as that is more of less impossible at the moment so now have an ironing mountain again

Anyway hope I haven't missed anything important & (((hugs))) wherever needed.

    Have a good day.x

    morning

Having a carp time at the moment:o. DS`s meltdowns are becoming very difficult. He has had huge 2 to 3 hour ones for the last 2 nights....due to school it would seem....again:(
Same old story of kids not being with him in the yard and feeling lonely....but also now he is saying he cant calm himself to listen to the teacher as there is too much other noise:o god knows how I am going to get him there today. He is so hysterical and upset that I just feel like keeping him at home. I think I need another meeting at school as if they cant meet his needs he needs to be looking at somewhere else. I feel like I have failed him:o
I am also poorly again, very painful throat and cough which is driving me mad and just generally feeling crap:(
He has been authorised for his Melatonin which should arrive next week so thats one thing I guess.
got a ton of housework stuff to do today as it is all falling apart with everything else going on.
Hope everyone else is ok and has good days. halight I hope the GP can sort you out

    Morning Folks,

Have got to go to the school today. It is DC2's class assembly. Will be able to see him do his words but won't be able to stay after for tea and biscuits and to talk to him as I have to run across to the nursery and be a parent supervisor on their farm trip. I am so disapointed as he is being bullied and I wanted to show him that I was there for him and proud of him.

Hope you all have a good day and see you this afternoon after school.

Please don't blame yourself NPM, it sounds like the school system is failing him, not you.
I've dropped hubby at the station with his packup, fed the fish & spent a few minutes in the garden checking the veggies.
I'm off to work soon to deal with the fall out from yesterdays meeting, it's very difficult as one persons refusal to follow procedure is impacting on the rest of us, hey ho.
Tea tonight is pork chops for hubby, I'll have egg on toast.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

Good morning Halight, Essexgirl, Noahspoormum, Tiger, Hester and all to follow,
NPM -hugs to you. I agree with Hester that the school are not managing his environment in the way he needs. You cannot organise his school day as you are not there, the teachers and assistants are. Doesn't he have a support assistant? It sounds like he needs to have support at break times - these are a very noisy busy time and difficult for ASD children to cope with.
Tiger - hugs you cannot be in two places at once, however hard you try.

Weather here is wet and grey. So no line drying today:(

Dinner will be fish pie today. Meal plans all gone to pot and being shuffled around. So, fish pie for 5 adults tonight - DS has arrived:) I will leave DD to sort DGSs as they don't like fish pie. Will have to go foraging down the garden in between raindrops to collect some spinach.

Hope you all have a Happy Wednesday, hugs to those who need or want,
    Cheers m'dears, Silver x

Morning halight, essexgirl & everyone else

Bit misty/foggy here at the mo, but not cold - didn't see forecast so weather will be a surprise later on. :D

Thanks to everyone who commiserated yesterday about my sister's dog - so nice of you all! :o

Job interview went well yesterday, but won't know for another week as they're interviewing for a few posts and will inform people en masse next Monday or Tuesday.

Got to go and see beds at place where they make to measure (for DS who's 19), so we know what to order style-wise. Should be around £250, including mattress and delivery; don't think that's bad. Plus around £110 for carpet/underlay/fitting and about £30 for a new shelf from !kea - other bits DS is buying himself. Don't need to repaint the rooms, just do a good clean, then the kids can swap over - yippee! :j

Off for another cuppa - have a good day all.

    A xo

    Good morning all
The grey damp sky seems to be a reflection of the way most of us are feeling today. Commiserations to all of you who are having such a rough time at the moment.

I had a rubbish nights sleep last night. DH has another daughter, nutshell: he got his girlfriend pregnant at 15, she was a year older, didn't tell anyone until it was too late, both sets of parents agreed that the baby would be adopted, and 29 years later, via the work of the devil that is facebook, grown up baby finds mother and then father. I always knew about her, he never talked about her at all, but its been just a year now and their relationship is very full on, constant texting, meeting up, etc etc. She is OK, but its been very hard watching them conduct what is tantamount to an affair. I suppose to quote the flylady thread, she is a toxic, (or maybe its me who is toxic), I'm the only one who seems to have a problem with her.

Anyway, last night they had a two hour skype, so we didn't eat till gone 10, we are away camping at the weekend, and she is joining us for the day on saturday, a lot of their talk last night was about another trip we have planned which is not far from where she lives, and they were planning lots of get togethers then too. So I am not looking forward to being away anywhere near as much as I should be now, as have visions of me sat in a damp field while they spend lots of "Dad and daughter time". Our own daughter incidentally, is fine with all this, but she only sees a fraction of their activity, I have to put up with his phone text alert going off when we are in bed!

Anyway, thank you for letting me have a moan.
OS wise, two loads of washing on the clothes airer, 3 loads ironed last night, packed lunches done, and am sticking to the flylady instructions for housework. :D
DD made bread rolls at school yesterday and they were lush, so my BM is going to be used later!

    hope everyones day improves!
    BDF x
