  • Managed to get hold of the 9.99 Argos cross cut shredder today! It was the last one in stock too! It doesn't seem too bad, slightly loud during operation but its a total bargain! I don't think its meant for heavy usage though!
  • I just burn mine!

I went to Staples the other day, and for about £25 they had a cross-cut shredder which can handle up to 18 sheets CDs, and credit-cards. :j

Just got my £14.99 shredder from Woolworths. Quite a bit heavier than the ordinary strip shredder but it is OK so far. It says on the box it will shred CDs but I haven't the courage to try one! Anyway, why shred CDs?

My son saw my cross cut shredder from Woolies and asked me to get one for him so I tried putting in the catalogue number on my invoice but it came up 'not known'. So I went into my Previous Orders page and clicked on the description line and up came a cross cut shredder for £14.99, not exactly the same as the one I received but looks OK. The only shredders that came up in the general search were a desktop one and one for £49, so I have ordered the £14.99 one and will see how it goes.

The Woolworths cross cut shredder (Model No PS-024/B) for £14.99 is a recommended buy by 'Which' magazine in their Novemeber 2005 issue. I recently bought one and it takes 5 x A4 sheets at a time and demolishes everything, including credit cards.

I do CDs at work. You have to change the bag and be careful to contain the silver glitter, but it does cut them into neat strips (with lots of cracks across them). Mind you, this is an industrial shredder, not a cheap one
